In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok so the 2011 season is almost wrapping up and the 2011/2012 season is starting so there had to of been some double gene desert females that were bred. I want to believe that even if the single gene desert females are incapable of breeding that when combined they will have viable clutches. Anyone hear anything on this breeding? :shrug01:

not confirmed but highly doubtful right now. I've even heard of females dieing and then the eggs were slugs inside of them. I'd just like to put it out there to find out any *NEW* information like I'm sure all of you would like to find out too.

I think that with what just happened to PE's collection, we're even further from knowing. :(

I'll give it some time, then raise the subject with Robyn - see what he has to say about it. (For obvious reason, I'm not going to bother him with this now)

I think this is a topic that everyone is eagerly awaiting to hear the outcome on. Especially those who invested so much money in desert females.

Well, PE isn't the only one working with deserts - if anybody knows somebody with breedable desert females, they can ask. Simple.

From all reports from Robyn in the past, there have been some successful desert female clutches produced. There is obviously some issues that need to be worked out with this morph that I firmly believe will happen over the next few years.

I am invested in this project, but don't regret it one bit. I am constantly amazed at how amazing every single combo produced looks. I also feel there has been a lot of stock produced over the last couple years which will get more people in the project. This will inevitably lead to someone finding a best practice for these females, everyone has different ways of keeping and breeding ball pythons.

With the recent tragedy at the Pro Exotics facility, this will set back the project slightly. There are many other people working on this to be considered a major set back.

I guess if you beleive the hype, it is best not to get a desert at all.

I was just doing some looking - one of the things I have found is that the successful clutches required temperature reductions for the females (no supplemental heat was stated in the thread, but no comment about what actual temperatures were)

I have heard speculation on the temperature thing and have heard there was a viable clutch posted on KS but it's past hatch date and nothing has been posted as far as how the eggs progressed. On other forums there's zilch too that's why I figured I'd check to see if anyone on here has heard anything. I'm sure once the news is out it will make headlines lol. Craig where did you hear of successful desert clutches because PE didn't even know about it from what I've read in their posts on other forums. They said they heard of a clutch in Europe but didn't give an update on if the clutch was truly successful. Ya I have no doubt the desert gene will live on no matter what because they are simply amazing to look at but I know everyone still wants to know.

I would be super excited to learn one way or another the outcome of the "female" question. I love the look of deserts, but boy it would be a hard pill for "me" to swallow to produce females with all the uncertainty right now.

People told me to stay away from female Caramels too. I gave it a try anyways. My female Caramel just gave me 4 good eggs (small, but good).

I hope the desert females prove to work out in the end.

Try not to confuse viable desert female clutches with the desert on desert clutch from KS. It was Chad not Robyn who listed it in a post on another forum. I will send you a pm with the link.

That isn't quite true - in my brief search, I found threads on a couple of forums that confirmed successful clutches from females. One of those included something by Robyn about the temps. It did seem as though most of the successful clutches were overseas, for some reason

Yeah now that I looked a little more there was one that had the overseas clutch but its still really vague, I wonder if its still along the lines of caramels where its harder to do and they only lay small clutches. Guess time will tell. And even the stuff that I've seen around the net is all second hand information. Everyone has seen or heard of so and so laying eggs but I still haven't seen any pictures or heard anyone come out and say yes I have eggs. There has to be a reason behind it. I might just suck at my research too though lol that's why I came here to ask because a lot of you guys hear EVERYTHING and know all the inside info.

I'll give you that one - I didn't see any first hand posts. Robyn posted that customers of theirs had successful clutches, other people posted about "reported clutches" overseas, etc. I would think that with all the speculation, people would be screaming it from the rooftops if they got viable eggs.

Yeah that's what has me confused if someone has produce eggs than why wouldn't they come on every forum known to ball pythons to announce it:

a.) There's some type of market scheme (like hey if we wait this out females will stay cheap and males will stay really high and we can keep prices high but that still doesn't make sense because then anyone who buys females will eventually find out) :shrug01:

b.) They really do have problems or take a certain technique to make it happen

If I did it, I wouldn't post on every forum known to BPs...I can't be bothered forum hopping.
