    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

So I want to add another boa to my collection, and have narrowed it down to two different morphs. Either a jungle or a motley. I really can't decide which one to go with, so I figured I would ask everyone around here and maybe you can help push me out of this "stuck" spot I'm in with either words or pics..whichever you prefer.

I really enjoy both morphs, I know they both have super forms (though super motleys dont fare so well, and I have yet to see a super jungle) and either of them make great additions to a collection..I just need that nudge out of the nest into one direction or the other.

Thanks for lookin!
Jordan

Never ask people what boa you should buy. I wouldn't buy either one until I found a snake that really stood out to me. Hell, it might not even be a jungle or a motley, but if you really like the snake, you'll be happier with the purchase.

Chris

I'm not asking someone to tell me which snake to buy. I am just asking for other peoples opinion of both morphs. I like both and wish I could add both to my collection, but right now can only afford one. And I am one of the WORST decision makers of all time..it would take me a lifetime to choose between the two. So I just wanted to ask what everyone else thinks, and some of the potential that both morphs could bring to the table.

I would never just buy a snake that someone said to buy, because I know I wouldn't be happy with it. I will be the one making the decision, but like I said before, I just need a nudge in one direction or the other.

Not sure if this helps or makes it harder hehehe

Personally, I like the jungles better. But there are some exceptional mots out there also

Those are some awesome snakes April! Are they yours? I'm starting to see a sort of trend with motleys. For the most part, they all have the same overall appearance. I know that all snakes are different but it is harder to mistake two jungles than two motleys from one another. At least to me it is. I think I am starting to lean towards a jungle. I have considered a jungle motley, but all the examples of them I have seen look no better than a normal boa with motley pattern that's missing a few saddles and some aberrant ones. I haven't been able to find anything really nice. We'll see.

1) Who is April?
2) Motley is a pattern anomoly (to a lesser degree, color)...so yes, motleys have a distinct look - that's what makes them motleys.

While I like some of the super jungles I've seen, the standard version leaves me unmoved.

I do like motleys - some better than others, naturally. My hypo motleys have 2 very different looks....and I like them both.

Study Motleys and Jungles more. A Motley Jungle is unmistakable.

Harald.
My apologies. I meant Rachel but my mind is elsewhere.
I have seen both of those motleys when we talked before. Both are very nice animals. I think that every animal will be different, and the right one will find me eventually.

And at shadow,
Either I read the ad wrong or someone is very mistaken on what animals they have. When I saw them I was wondering why it didn't look nicer. Either way, I would like to see a motley jungle that drops my jaw.

Since its a matter of finance why you wont get both, why not get the best of either that speaks to you knowing that you will eventually add the other at a later date. So if you see a jungle that you like right now, get it. But if you see both that you can see yourself with at the same time then you're back where you started.

Stryker, that is exactly what I plan to do. I just don't know which I want and want to see the potential that each can bring. And then when one finds me I will know how to make my decision.

Rachel,
I apologize for getting your name wrong! I was celebrating my sisters birthday at six flags and, well, I just called you April for some reason. They are all amazing! I guess there's probably not a chance you would let any of them go huh?

That's ok Jordan, no harm done! As of right now I'm keeping them all, though I have been toying with the idea of letting the last motley girl go. It would have to be for a pretty penny though. She's an 08 het anery, possible het snow. Small for her age, not planning to breed her until at least next year or the year after that. Most likely I will just keep her though!

If your wanting one or the other I'd go for a combo of both.

Much more potential.

Yeah if the opportunity arose to get a combo I would totally take that offer. I haven't seen a whole bunch of them around though. Just waiting for "the one" to fall into my lap :D

Brandon, that Jungle Motley T Pos is insane. And you have it photographed just right. Any idea what a Jungle Motley litter would look like? It seems that all the Jungle Motleys have more of a Motley pattern than Jungle so maybe the Motley gene is more dominant. But yes, the combo morph is a prime show animal and the T Pos influence makes the pattern pop.

To be honest I am not sure how the animals would look from breeding a Motley Jungle however I am looking forward to finding out.

The way the litter should be broken down by breeding to a normal you should get 25% Normals 25% Motleys 25% Jungles 25% Motley Jungles.

I think some have more Motley influence than others but that normal Motley Jungle female I posed seems to have more of the Jungle influence. Also with the Motley Jungles they seem to have a mussel look about their face....they do really stand out and I believe the BP guys had it right when combining several co dominant animals to create new and exciting things...with more jungle influence I think they will look better! Motleys are often times just to dark.

I've got several great examples of both and personally I'll take Jungles over Motleys any day of the week. I just can't get enough of the color/pattern diversity and the way they just get so much better with age. For me there is nothing like a really clean/creamy adult boa...

I believe the motley and jungle genes fall on the same locus. As with motley and stripe in corn snakes..One of the two genes are going to take more "control" of how the snake looks in appearance. Determining which will take control is impossible to tell, but so far it seems like the motley takes most control as far as pattern goes..Except for that first one Brandon posted. It looks like that one was evenly distributed.
