    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Also - this is just my opinion, but if I was in this situation, ESP if I was in brians shoes, I would be using email to communicate, email is the easiest saved, stored, and reproduced. It's funny that since he found the thread he's only communicated w Jess in a manner that is very difficult, if not impossible, to post in this thread. I also am leery of posted text messages bc they can be easily edited. Although emails can be edited too - so idk.

I just tried to edit my AOL and Yahoo mail and it didn't work, so screen shots should be proof. Maybe pictures of the text messages are proof enough if there is a phone number attached.
 
So no boa today... I guess I will have to contact the authorities and see what they can do. Should I contact my local office or one in Ohio or Florida? Any other help or suggestions are appreciated.
 
Oh Jess :( I'm so sorry!! - did he tell you he was going to ship him yesterday? What happened to a few of the ppl that offered to go pick ur snake up - did Brian not allow them to do so? You'd have to contact the authorities in the state the snake currently is located in.. Your going to have to be patient but eventually you will get him back - try to get documentation of your ownership of the snake and every email and text message ready for when you do contact the authorities - the easier you make it for them and the better organized you have yourself the more police will be willing to help.
 
I didn't think he would keep his promise. This is why I thought you were being too lenient. :(
 
I know, but I figured a chance at getting him back was better than nothing as it would have been much easier if he just kept his word rather than it getting to this point. But now I will have to involve the authorities and just be patient until he is tracked down.

Yes, Natalie, he said he would ship him yesterday for an arrival this morning. I had been texting him every couple days and, though sometimes it would take him awhile to respond sometimes, he was replying. However, when I texted him yesterday to confirm that he sent him out and to get a tracking number, he never replied.

Scott and Troy offered to go to his apartment, but I'm not even sure he lives there anymore. If they're still willing to check it out and at least try to get some info if he's not there, then I would still appreciate it. At this point, I'm going to contact the authorities and get everything together. I took pics of the text messages he sent me as well so I still have all of the relevant information.

Sorry to here that he didn't come through Jessica. I feared this was going to happen, and the extra 10 days or so just gave him more time to hide, move across country, or whatever he intended from the start. But after all that transpired, I don't think returning your animal was his intention from the get go.

I'd start with the local law where he was from since you don't know for sure where he was heading, or if he's still around that town. Plus small town police seem to know everyone and what they're up to, so maybe he left a trail they can follow or pass along. Then you need to file a report with the local law where you are at, not that they'll help, but you'll have the report filed and on record, and it's a requirement for the next place you file the report, which is at ic3.gov. Follow the instructions and file there as well.

All this may pan out, or it may not, but you need to try anyway.

Totally agree - he just came on here and said he was going to return the snake to buy himself some time, or just to try to make Jess look bad
