In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok, long intro but necessary i guess. I bought an adult het pied female earlier this summer. From the start, she wouldn't eat for me despite the gentleman I bought her from saying she was a great eater. In early August I figured out why, she was coiled around 7 eggs. 4 good ones and 3 slugs. Of course I emailed the guy asking him what he had bred her to. His response was "Sounds like you got lucky. Probably a Pied." Well this week the eggs started hatching. I thought there were 2 pieds and 2 hets, but as they came out I realized that 1 of the 2 pied I thought I was looking at in the egg wasn't a pied at all. It has a clean, unmarked belly and some really good colors (to me anyway) lots of blushing. below is a pic of it beside one of its normal clutch mates. So I email the guy again asking if there was a possibility that she could have been bred to a codom het pied? Still haven't got a straight answer. Can anyone help me out identifying what it is. I thought pastel, but the eyes are dark.

thanks

WOW! He/she is gorgeous...

And it definitely isn't a Pastel...could you get some pictures of it stretched out?

Thanks for the nice words! I think its pretty cool as well. Honestly though, it looks better in the flash of the camera than in real life. That's why I put the normal in for comparason. I havent sexed them as I'm not the most comfortable yet doing it, and dont want to practice on these guys. I have a buddy that's going to do it for me this weekend. Here is another couple of pictures with it stretched out some, as much as I could get it to cooperate anyway! Also one of the whole clutch, as there is another snake in there that deserves some face time. Nothing really special....other than it's mine!

WoW way to hit the luck streak, I hit a similar lucky clutch by buying a gravid het clown female so I know how you feel right now! On cloud 9! lol

Yep, and this was the 2nd time this happened you me this year. Although the first clutch wasn't nearly as rewarding (het OG's). I only wish the gentleman that sold her to me would tell me was she was bred to. I understand him being upset though. He's a good guy, and I'm not mad at him. I just hope he comes around and can help me out. Just as importantly for the % of the hets. Right now I have to assume that they are only possibles.

that is a very pretty snake I love the pattern but looks to be a pastel, either way congrats and that is some awesome luck :)

Why is he mad, if it's because he sold you snakes that were gravid and is mad that he didn't get the eggs then that's kind of lousy :shrug01: if you sell the snakes you should be willing to help your customer with any questions they have it's called good customer service

I agree on the yellow belly looked totally different when coiled and part of the problem is het pieds are sometimes very awesome in their own right. Please post some post shed pics when you get them that may help immensely. You might also check for tracks on all the babys bellies and get a good idea if they are all het pied. Might just be one of those rockin het pieds either way I would hold onto it if I were you hope its a girl

Very true but if I were told by the breeder it was a pied and all baby's had tracks I would surmise it was a pied. Not at all saying I would in turn sell them as such I would just use that for my information only and may let a prospective buyer know. If there is no other reasonable explanation and said breeder says only had a pied male with her once still you almost couldn't say 100% het pied.

To the OP. There is also the possibility of sperm retention from last season you might want to ask the breeder if she had been bred last year and if it took and to what. Of course if he's not sure what he had with her this year doubt he will remember last but it's worth a shot.

Yeah I had similar situation with the female het clown I got in. I got 6 babies 3 clowns 3 hets but since I didn't actually do the breeding I couldn't 100% say I know for a fact they are 100% hets so I priced them in between 66% hets and 100% hets. OP Good luck with whatever you do and I hope you do get an answer from the breeder.

I agree on the customer service part! I should say though, my comment about him being upset is purely speculation due to the fact that he hasn't replied to my emails for the last 3 days. I guess, to be fair, I should give him more time.

Hopefully, I can get him to return my emails at all. His website says he was planning on 90 clutches this year and a lot of what he was doing seemed to be with pastel pieds and paastel het pieds.

I don't see any yellow belly signs but will snap some belly pictures, and others, after it sheds. Thanks for the responses!

I wouldn't be selling those babies if it were me. I would for sure keep the odd looking one and see what happens as it ages. I would also be interested to see what the other babies prove out to be.
I would also give the breeder a chance. I know how crazy it can be and even spending just 5-10 minutes writing an email for someone who bought a snake from me can be more than I have time for. Especially if I had told the person what they were now asking when I sold them the snake. But in time, I get to all of my emails, and answer them to my fullest extent possible.
He may be upset about you getting a clutch, but he did sell the snake. And all that goes with it, including the eggs. He should still have customer service and answer your questions.
Either way, I'd keep the babies!
