So back in September I purchased a female albino ball python from ScalesNskin Reptile Auctions on Face Book. I put the animal on a payment plan,after the first of 2 payments was made I was informed that the female was being assist fed and not eating on her own. As the final payment was due to be made my car was broken into I lost my laptop, cash basically everything it was bad. They were very understanding and on my next pay day, we sent the remainder owed. We scheduled a shipping date, and as the shipping date got closer, we got a message that our snake had diarrhea and she was taking her to the vet.
After nearly a week with not hearing anything about how she was doing or what was wrong we started calling and messaging her on Facebook to see what was going on. When she answered back she told us that the vet had made things worse and she wasn't ready to ship her yet. We again agreed and said it was more important to get a healthy animal than getting her now. Again weeks go by with out any communication from Scalesnskin we called and messaged both and never received a return call or message. I called her phone and as usual no one answered, I left a message that I needed to talk to her in the next 48 hours to let us know what was going on or I was going to the BOI with it and filing a grievance with paypal. Shortly after the message we got message back from her, that if she apologized for the wait and she was just trying to wait until she shed a few more times to get rid of scabs from a baytril injection.
My wife then messaged her enough is enough we have been patient we need her shipped or our money back colder weather is getting here and before long we will be in weather that cant be shipped in. She agreed to ship the animal since we were in a big hurry. We were set to ship Tuesday for Wednesday delivery. She informed me she was shipping ups, and was sending it to the address of the ups hub so it didn't go out on a truck. I showed up at ups the next morning around 10 to pick up my package, there was no package. I called fed ex to make sure I didn't misunderstand they had nothing either.
I called to find out where my package was multiple times Wednesday, again no answer, my wife called to get the point across (she isn't as nice as i am) Thursday morning we both get messages from her husband that he has nothing to do with the snakes, but she is sick and he was upset that we left "disturbing" messages on his phone. I messaged him back telling him that the problem wasn't a problem that she was sick, but there was a huge problem with communication that needed to be fixed.
The fallowing Monday the 25th she sent us a message that she didn't feel comfortable with sending us the sick animal. She had paid for a replacement out of pocket. I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated it. My wife messaged her with the shipping address for the fed ex hub near our house 700 townsgate plaza. Later that day we got a message that she had been shipped and would arrive Tuesday. I was thrilled my wife was sick in the hosital and she was expecting to get out on Tuesday it was also her birthday. Untill I track the package, they sent it to 700 plaza so I made a mad dash to fed ex before they closed and got things situated to have the box held at the facility instead of going to the wrong address. Well tuesday morning rolls around and as soon as I get out of class I call my wife and she says she is hopefully getting released to come home from the hospital soon. I pick up our package from fed ex, get home and open the package. My beautiful little albino is in a green mesh bag, and has gotten stuck in a small hole in the bag that I had to cut away from her head because she couldnt come out. I put the snake in a damp pillowcase and put her away to rest, so I could go see my wife and hopefully bring her home from the hospital on her birthday. She did not get out and I spent the day there with her.
Today I was going through and sexing a few baby boas and as usual my daughter was with me, all the baby boas we sexed were male, and she ask dad what does a female look like. I said grab that female Albino ball and I will show you. She brings it over to me and I pop it and guess what HEMIPENES.... After all that I got a male.
I messaged sarah @ scalesnskin to let her know I was more than upset at this point and she passes me off to OFF THE ARK EXOTICS she used them to replace the female I was owed. I call them and ask if Sarah had requested a female for me, because at this point I honestly figured she just sent me something to passify me.
Shortly after the first phone call I receive a phone call and a Mr Vinny Ferraiolo informs me that I was clearly mistaken he sexed that animal himself, he also insinuated that I was incompetent more than once. He immediatly accuses me of trying to scam him, and tells me I am not a real breeder in his eyes because I dont have hundreds of animals. He then informs me that he may have made a mistake, he would send me a shipping label and I could send it back, and if he thought it was a female he would keep the snake and the money, and if it was a male he would send sarah from scalesnskin her money back. Ok you messed up once, and if I send the animal back to you and you cant sex it right a second time you are going to keep my money and my snake? yeah that went over really well. I told him to get me a shipping label I would be sending it back.
After getting off the phone with him I called up my buddy Dustin Brown and said hey can you come help me get some pics of this male albino and his hemipenes so if this guy tries to screw me I have some sort of proof. He agrees and says he will talk to me later.
Mean while Mr Vinney calls me back he found a thread on face book someone asking me if I got my albino in, I replied yeah she is in the rack resting. Post was dated tuesday night after I had received the snake when I was assuming that I bought a female I got a female. I get a few messages on face book him calling me a scammer and how he doesn't deal with scammers lightly. I point out to him that like I already said I didn't sex the snake tuesday I was at the hospital with my wife. He basically tells me that was posted before I sexed the animal as I was at the hospital with my wife all day, I hadnt sexed the animal untill moments before I called him.
He then calls me and starts telling me how stupid I am if I really didnt sex a snake the moment it arrived, and I am a moron if I think he is going to believe me. Mean while the crap he started on facebook is mounting. He tells me that now he wont take the animal back because I am trying to steal from him. I finally talk him into letting me take the pics of the animal and its hemipenes and sending them to him in exchange for him removing his false acusations on face book he agrees because he will never hear from me again all I will have is acusations and excuses and no proof.(well you seen it once look below and here it is again buddy)
Dustin shows up at my house, by this time I am nearly in tears between mad and frustrated. Dustin asks to see the snake pops it and yup obvious hemipenes. We take pics(i will place below) and send them to Vinny, and he complains that all he can see is my hand. At this point it becomes relatively obvious he is just trying to get out of making things right, making me wonder if there ever was a female in his facility, he didnt offer to replace it with a female, and few people ever just offer a refund when they can exchange.
After seeing the pics he agreed to remove his accusations from the face book page and has yet to do so.
At this point I am hoping to get a refund and shipping paid back to him. I doubt that will happen but time will tell....
