In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, I've been looking at lessers and there seems to be two distinct types. A brown and yellow and a black and yellow (lets put the dorasl stripes aside). I think the black yellow is the sg line which I also think is more yellow looking, although it could be just the contrast in colors making it look that way.

What other bloodlines are out there and how can you visually tell them apart?
What is Ralph Davis's line called?

Is any one bloodline cleaner than another?

Is there a particular bloodline that has more blush, floating, connected reduced pattern than others?

Ralph Davis had the original Platty Daddy, I have one not far removed from said snake and it tends to throw alittle busier pattern with more eyes in the aliens. The back is more black with brighter yellows. The black seems to fade on all lessers as they age though, so the back is becomming more brown as he grows. The less pure the bloodline is the less these characteristics will hold true. Mine is the offspring of 2 of the offspring of the original Platty Daddy so figured it's about as pure as possible.

Thank you Mike, So If I understand you correctly, the more brown, or less black coloring in the Lesser, the further removed it is from it's platty daddy bloodline?

Selective breeding is the only difference I see in the different lessers :shrug01:

Love the reduced pattern on the VPI Lesser.
That's what you need to produce high quality combos...

It's hard to make spotless lesser combos, but having a spotless lesser* is a good start :)
Most lesserbee's I see have a lot of spots, not a great trait on a lesserbee imo.

*Lesser is on breeder loan again, he's not mine but I certainly enjoy breeding him
:yesnod:

I'm with you 100% on that Jerry. Now if some one would only produce a spotless Cinny or Black pastel.

lol, but then it wouldn't be a black pastel or a cinny :D

I'm happy with very busy black pastels, no cinny's in my collection, not that I'm biased or anything

A busy black pastel and a busy lesser make some great looking offspring ;)

Were'e getting a little off topic here but I will be looking for a spector male for my spotless OB. I can't find much on what spectors make the best SS, or what to look for to get those light orange colors.

Nice OB!

I don't know that answer myself, just got my specter male and have yet to produce anything specter, but next season, bring on the ladies :)

Thanks for the compliment Jerry. Yes, She is outrageous, and one generation out from Ben's line. She is the only "spotless" OB I have ever seen. Is it OK to ask here who you got your Specter from?

Thanks Jerry, I'll put him on my list of spector contacts for next spring. Hey, do you mind posting a pic of your Specter? I'd really like to see him.

Just took him in and want to get him eating well before handling him much, after he does eat a few meals with me you can be sure I'll make a post with pictures ;)

Hi Chris,

I did the original post here. I'm not sure to be honest. I guess there are 3 or 4 bloodlines...VPI, RD and SG, there are more I am sure. The platty daddys I've seen pic's of are light, lots of blush....my confusion is with the darker black back colored lessers vs the browner ones (they can both have lots of blush). I dunno what line the blacker ones are from, or if they are "closer" to the platty daddy genelogically or not. I was hoping for tangible clarification.
