In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BallBids.com?

Ok, it has changed some since the last time I saw it. Hopefully this doesn't end up being a living TOS (document) and changes after the dust settles. Maybe they are just appeasing the masses. I don't understand how someone can go from not guaranteeing a live arrival to being so generous about refunding $6.75 for a high dollar morph overnight :shrug01:

If you start out lying, why should anything you say be trusted later? Why do they get any benefit of the doubt when they were obviously hoping to fool everyone?

I take that kind of personal. Sort of like some dweeb coming up, slapping me in the face and then daring me to figure out why my face hurts, laughing because he thinks I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

Well, this time the metaphorical slap was met with a solid right hook to his jaw. We KNOW this was meant to fool people into thinking it was something it never was.

There probably were some good intentions in there. But there was too much bs and lying to believe they were in any way innocent of anything other than thinking they were the smartest kids in the room.

Joe proved them quite wrong there.

I've seen this ad a few places, made me curious too?

Notice the address on "Avi" and the address on Zack.

Now look at the location in "Avi's" Fauna profile.

We pretty much lynched Zack right off of the "site who's name we cannot mention". He was bad news from the start.

I read a post made by Avi (posted below)

3) Our backgrounds: It's true that I've only been involved, hands-on, with this trade for several weeks, but I'm primarily the tech/web guy, so, although it remains important, it's not AS important as it would be if I was a dedicated breeder. I depend on Zack's knowledge and experience, and although he may not be the most experienced breeder or snake handler around, he certainly knows enough to get us where we need to be and to keep our snakes in good health.

But I found this, and although the link no longer works, I find it very disturbing for several reasons...
he lied yet again and has been in this up to his neck since 2009 AND now he is associated with drugs? If someone can see where I am making a mistake, please say so because I don't want to wrongly accuse someone of anything...

For those that don't already know, it appears the winner of last nights auction was Natasia Cockerham, a friend of the sites owners.

In theory if you are to do this legitimately it is a great way to make money! Thousands of people bid .55 for a chance to be the last bidder and win a snake for a few bucks. It's more or less a raffle...

The reason the site crashed last night was because thousands of people were trying to be the last bidders. The sorry part of this auction is how they state when it's under 15 seconds if a bid is placed it resets to 15 seconds, so all these people are going to be resetting the timer and thousands of bids are going to be placed.

I don't think this should be look at as an auction, but more of a raffle... Why don't you give them a chance on their animals before scrutinizing them? I do not think they should have put "sold animal" pictures up if they haven't sold any, but I can see where they are trying to show examples.

Ya you may only pay $5 for a snake, but they made atleast 3 times what the snake was worth.

Are you joking!

No quarantine procedures, lying multiple times, back tracking constantly and changin every aspect of the business, copy and pasting a TOS from another website without even reading it, pulling in Mike Wilbanks name as if he endorsed them, the list goes on and on and on, these noobies are a freakin joke.

NO CHANCE ~ NO WAY ~ NOT EVER, and anyone else who uses them might as well be asking to be black balled.

** Hello, we are here to rip you off. Please don't be mad at us. We just want money the easy way without really putting in a lot of effort. Please, don't trust your gut feeling, it is a lie, much like our "business". We see $$$ signs in every animal we buy but we really don't know a thing about the animals we buy. We are hoping that you will be dumb enough to fall for our scam so you can make our lives easier. Thank you again for all your help and your hard earned money. It is much appreciated.**

That is what I just gathered from reading all of this. I did get a good laugh though.

According to them, the site has been a work in progress for the last six months. That's plenty of time, had they had any desire to do so, to get ideas and opinions for a TOS fitting to the sale of live animals. Instead, they practically copied and pasted the terms from one of the other penny sites. Shouldn't their "snake expert" have known that was no good set of terms for live animals? Or maybe he did. What keeps the most money in your pocket better than zero liability?

I agree with whomever said they really should get those ironed out and concrete before putting anything else up for sale. How is the "winner" supposed to know which version he's gonna get?

Sorry, too much just doesn't pass the smell test for them to get any sympathy from me. If they had approached it differently, it might have been something fun. (regular auctions as opposed to pay per bid, a set of terms that doesn't bend the buyer over, etc)

I really don't see an issue with the type of auction they are doing... How they run their business is totally different, I was under the impression that the Mike was backing them and since he is not I do find it wrong that they are using his name.

Animal flipping may be considered a less than desirable trait, but there are tons of big names in this industry that do the exact same. Such as buying out clutches for resale, importing, and even pet stores in general. Not to name any names, but there are multiple ads / auctions out there that clearly state that "these just came in". And with imported animals most importers are trying to sell them out as fast as possible so they die on the customers care and not their own... Maybe they offer a week guarantee, but with a lot of fresh imports that come in sick they can pass away in 2-3 weeks easy no matter what the care is.

I don't think anyone here is getting ripped off unless there is evident proof of unhealthy animals being used.

I'm sorry but in my book it would be innocent until proven guilty, has anyone reported that their pictures were stolen or any wrong doing has happened here?

I got the same "vibe," hence I have no interest in anything they are offering, even if they do take the "suggestions" above to make their business smell better.:D

No evidence of anyone being ripped off?

  1. Timer set back "at whim," so more money can keep coming in.
  2. No refunds given for the couple of "glitches" that the website has experienced already.
That's evidence to me. There's more, but this is enough to make me stay away.:shrug01:

any wrong doing has happened here?

They lied in their advertisements, depicting critters marked 'sold' for very low prices, when that did not happen.
When called on it they replied with some insincere mumbo jumbo, including telling me that it was obvious that the animals had not been sold.

They lied. That is wrong, and those lies were used to launch their biz.

Ya you may only pay $5 for a snake, but they made atleast 3 times what the snake was worth.
I wonder what would happen if things didn't go according to plan. Say they put up a snake for which they had paid $350, and there was only a slow trickle of bids...with no final flurry; and they only got $100 in bids. Would they honor it (including the free shipping), or find a way out...whether by deleting the auction, or using some lame version of Reserve Not Met.

I don't understand. If they are not associated to Constrictors Unlimited, why do they have linked banners to his site on BallBids.com? A unique banner that I can't find anywhere but that site. Why is he the ONLY supplier of ball pythons? I know what's been said about his involvement, but doesn't that seem weird to anyone else?

Kimberly, I had a brief look (sorry, all I have is an iPod for net access for the next two weeks.:ack2:), and I'm not sure if they're the same person or not. It could have been a previous owner of the domain. Maybe one of our many tech junkies around here can tell? I'd be interested too, in seeing if that LLC is legit.

It's pretty bad when even USARK is putting out messages on facebook saying you're bad news.
