In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BallBids.com?

I read this differently:

...which says NO one won:shrug01:

Or are you referring to where the girl says "yes I did win lastnite...". then says they worked it out?

Yes, I am refering to him saying there's no way to tell who won, then a friend saying she won and having no problem letting the snake that she won be reauctioned so someone else can win it. Maybe that's fine with some :shrug01:

I would have to assume that is because when you are having a server crash, things tend to lag, get weird, maybe stop all together? The clock surly ended with someones name, but all involved agreed that it wasn't really a legit win on her part...herself included.

Heck, if I would have won that night with those circumstances I would have told them to re auction it.

OR maybe there is some evil plan here. A conspiracy maybe:D

Maybe. But there wasn't a crash last night and many people posted that they couldn't bid during the last few moments of the auction and that it went from 5 seconds instantly to "End." Why wasn't the snake relisted again?

Hmm, that's funny. I haven't taken part in them...but I watched every second of the two snake auctions last night.

Those people you are referring to sound butt hurt to me. Just like the kid that came on here whining about how HE wasted $27.00 on HIMself.

They didn't win themselves so they are whining. It's the internet...which happens to be another BIG part of this whole gamble.
My net has lagged on me even on Ebay where I was trying to snipe at the end and I screwed myself because the clock said one thing but when I tried to submit my bid it was already over. Lag, freeze, seize to work correctly all the time= internet.
No one goes whining to ebay though. Again, same issues on Quibids. Yet, I have won lots of good stuff!...for pennies on the dollar.

Just step back, don't look into this so hard anymore, by all means DO NOT send them your money...and wait for the glorious day you can say "I told ya so". I get it, not everyone is on board. Oh well. I am not planning on spending my money there but for them to get this bashed on is crazy IMO.

Leave them be, let them succeed on their own, let them fail on their own. Who cares.

For the record here, the obvious lies and screw ups in the beginning was ridiculous. They definitely could be starting this with a cleaner slate, thats for sure!

most likely the first few bids will be legit now that the have something to prove with so many eyes on them.

(3 packs of bids were won, a couple for just over $1 which means they made about $60 on those)

Personally, I stopped gambling when I moved away from Vegas, but I see the allure of a 'cheap' morph, they'll make a killing, a few winners may actually get a great deal, and a lot of hopefull bidders will lose.

I agree with Nick and I think April absolutely nailed it.

I too watched the whole auction (shhh...don't tell anyone that I had the chance to log on from work lol)...and I didn't see the 5 second issue. Heck, I used a couple of my "free bids" at the end, bidding on both the pastel and the butter; when the timer hit 2 seconds on the pastel and one second on the butter...it registered my bid for the pastel, but it did not take my bid for the butter, saying that the auction had ended. I have used the same "strategy" on Ebay...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...I contribute it to either my internet connection, or it could be the fact that multiple bids are coming in all at once in those last 2 seconds....or maybe my clicker finger just isn't as fast as I think it is, lol. Who knows.

As far as the one girl saying that she won...well, I believe it was a case of her name showing as the winner at one point, but because the server did crash and no one else could put in bids, they agreed that it should be a "do over". It seems to me that WAS the most fair solution to the problem.

As I watched too...I wonder if some of the folks complaining that they lost money are the same the folks that were putting in multiple bids LONG before the aucion even came close to ending...anyone who understands how these "penny auctions" work knows that it is really utterly pointless and a watse of money to even put in a bid hours early, because there is ALWAYS a ton of bidding in the last few seconds. It reminds me of folks that I have seen go into a casino, put 20 bucks into a nickel slot, hit "max bet" 5 times, and claim that the machine is a "ripoff" because their money is already gone, and they only bet 3 times...so they can't be out of money yet because it is only a nickel machine. They simply don't understand how it works, yet they don't take the time to figure it out BEFORE spending their money. :shrug01:

I am not trying to "argue" with you by any means Nick, I understand each of the points you are making and respect them (as well as many of the other fine people who have posted on this topic). I just think that since we are questioning these folks' honesty, we should make 100% certain that WE are all working with and relaying correct information ourselves, and hold ourselves to the same standard. We could sit here all day and speculate ways that they could possibly be screwing people over, but when some people take that speculation and run with it as fact, that's when the waters get really muddy.

I think everyone needs to let this ride out a week or so, see if the people who have won do recieve their animals (and in good health) and then we can continue to critique them on their performance. This site just literally opened up and yes they made mistakes but hey we are all human. Let some time go by and see if they fix their mistakes instead of bash them in the face with a 2x4. Would you want the same treatment for yourself if you were in their shoes? Amanda nailed it right on the head, its a gamble and YOU are responsible for loosing money. So dont go off on a tangent and whine like a child that lost his toy, it is your own fault. If you are not participating in the site or used free bids that the site generously offed you you still have no right to whine and complain for loosing because you really have lost nothing. If you where smarter you would have waited to use those free bids at a later date when everyone else has spent theirs up. As far as for the quotes on this will hurt the reptile community/market, what damage has it done yet? It has only been one week and you guys are slandering them for fraud and scams when you yourself have no proof of it.

Just relax everyone, take a deep breath, and walk away from your computer. Come back in a week or two and see if they are legit businessman or are truly scum and then make your opinions all you want with backing to them.

I personally like the idea. Its genious, but not for everyone. Dont go to the site add $100 dollars and EXPECT that you will win. No it doesnt work that way you have to play it smart, be vigilant and have hours of patience.

AKA dont join the sight and be a dumb spender throwing money expecting a guarantee win. Its like poker, know what your are doing and play your hand well and you can win.

That's what I was thinking Steve. Has anyone directed Kylie to this thread? Or asked her of her opinion of her dealings so far? I'm not saying it's not a possibility, but given my limited knowledge of Kylie's past behavior and manner I don't think she would be in on the scam. I don't know her personally, but have considered doing business with her and the only reason I didn't was that I found what I wanted cheaper, older, and quicker. Would love to hear what she has to say about her experience and see that unboxing.

I don't think anyone has accused them of scamming and not sending animals. I think most are upset by their unscrupulous business practices, i.e. little quarantine, false advertising (which is still being used), and the lies. Asking members to be silent and let it ride kind of defeats the purpose of the BOI IMO.

I understand your point Cathy, but speculation is a result when lies are told. I think speculation is what reveals people for what they truly are in the end.

Yep, lies will always make some of us sit up and take notice, inquire and analyse.

Hey, Jeff Byers Here. I'm in Hamm Germany right now but it was brought to my attention that I am being associated with this Zack Byers fellow. I don't know him and I am of no relation to him. I'll read all this and address it further when I get back home.
