    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Greetings all,

We are considering moving to Seattle for jobs. I looked up and found the following sites in effort to try and make sure any animals in my possession are not suddenly illegal to have.

If anyone has further input on the matter, I would love to find out if I need to obtain animal licenses, etc. in order to take my animals with me.

http://www.examiner.com/exotic-pets-in-seattle/legality-of-exotic-pet-ownership-washington-state-part-5

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=16.30.010

So from what I've read thus far, as long as I don't possess anything even remotely venomous, in the crocodilian family or water monitors/croc monitors....I should be fine?

Here is what I have presently and would plan to take with me for clarification:
BCI (Columbian boas)
Rainbow boas
Baird's ratsnakes
Trans-Pecos ratsnakes
Cornsnakes
Ball Pythons
Dumeril Boas
Kenyan Sand Boas
Bearded Dragons
N.G. Frilled Dragon
Iguana
Skinks
Geckos (Leopard geckos and Hainan Cave)

It does not appear that any geckos are listed as bad so for the species I wish to keep later it should be fine.

I just want to be absolutely sure all my animals are safe and legal to have should we infact move to Seattle. I appreciate any help in finding this out.

Kindest regards,

Amanda Rose

Everything on your list is fine from what I can tell, certain counties in Washington have some weird laws, but mostly just against venomous and water/croc monitors. Some counties do not allow retics or burms.

(A) Family atractaspidae, all species;

(B) Family colubridae, only dispholidus typus;

(C) Family elapidae, all species, such as cobras, mambas, kraits, coral snakes, and Australian tiger snakes;

(D) Family hydrophiidae, all species, such as sea snakes;

(E) Family varanidae, only water monitors and crocodile monitors;

(F) Family viperidae, all species, such as rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, bushmasters, puff adders, and gaboon vipers;

(ii) Order crocodilia, all species, such as crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and gavials.

Thank you kindly.
For the time being, I do not plan on owning anymore burms or retics...maybe down the line when we plan to buy a house. It is comforting to know that I can have savannah monitors and tree monitors though (blue trees and black trees are on my wishlist).

Kindest regards,

Amanda Rose

I think it is mainly King County and Tacoma that do not allow burms or retics.
Seattle I THINK does not allow snakes over 8 feet - But I have not heard anything more on this.

So, most things are legal, so the so called "dangerous" animals.
