In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Will this one brighten up or will it just turn all brown?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

single gene baby snakes typically look a million times better as babies then they will as adults....

so no....most likely not...

in regards to pastels....find one you just REALLY like....or find one thats almost impossibly yellow lol

Well I was actually hoping more for an orange look than a yellow actually. But guess I'll keep looking. Thinking of getting a spider instead anything to look out for with them besides one with horrible wobble?

if you like the orange look just get an orange dream. they are so cool looking and get brighter with every shed

if you want a spider I would almost say get a sub adult....babies that don't wobble, can grow into one very quickly, and your stuck at whatever level of wobble they have.

At least with a sub adult, you'll have a good idea of what your getting wobble wise.

look for insanely bright babies....pretty much all pastels will lose some color as they age, but the brighter they are as babys, the better chance you have of getting what your looking for in an adult.

Here was my girl when she was tiny (first pic no lighting....second pic with flash and overlight)...shes over 900 grams now and has held her colors very well...shes pretty orangey hehe

there is a HUGE price difference between a pastel and an orange dream lol

if there wasn't, I would already have an OD teehee

(and I've actually heard they still look better as babies too when only single gene, but I haven't seen any in person so no clue lol)

You can always go for a nice Graziani pastel if you're looking for more orangish coloration. I regret selling mine. She was gorgeous! At least ill be able to get babies from her :)

Lemon pastels are funny in that I find they rarely live up to their name...and I see very few that I find all that attractive. You can kind of tell to what extent they'll brown out, even as a baby. Like Willow said, if you're looking for a pastel, just look for the brightest(and cleanest) you can find. Don't get stuck on what line of pastel as much as the look of individual pastels of any line.

As for spiders, I find a nice gold base color with a reduced pattern and well defined high white sides to be very nice.

That's because not all pastels from NERD were/are lemon pastels. That name was applied to the real yellow ones, and still is at NERD...but other people progressed to slapping the name on anything produced by a NERD line animal (or anything that they think looks like a NERD line animal based on various features).

That much I've noticed...you see the pastels Kevin is working with in his videos or on his website and not one "lemon" on the market is even close to what he has. I'm sure his are the results of extensive, selective line breeding as well.

And now that you mention the "progressive marketing techniques", I'm left wondering how many people truly know what line pastels they have, and does it really matter.
