In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have this 530g female that was sold to me as a fire a lil while back but appears much more like a spector. The person I got her from got it with another fire and assumed it was fire because they were similar. It was given to them for free from a friend whos boyfriend abandoned his collection at her house and ran off with another girl. So she gave away his snakes for free. The first one the people got was actually labeled as fire and this female was the last one to give away and they didnt ask what it was because they assumed fire. She was just a pet and they never had any intention to breed, so I got it and with all my research it appears to be spector. Everything I found online and any pics I have seen all point to spector (even tho spector and fire are fairly similar), head spot, most belly clear white with it getting speckled near the bottom half, random dots in alien heads, black flecking on sides, etc. What does everyone think?

I agree, better pics would help. Where we can see the entire snake. Could be a dark fire but ima still say a nice normal for now. Those flames on the side are pretty kewl, but I've seen normals with those and have a few that have those too. Same with the head spot. I have norms that have very pronounced head spots. One that I had recently picked up that the person swore she was a yb and I showed him that she wasn't anything but a really nice light normal.

When in doubt, breed it and find out! ;) Take a yb male to her, see what ya get.

If anyone thinks its not a spector, or fire for that matter, can you say why its not? Like explain the difference between what you think it is and the fire or spector respectively? I appreciate the help, thanks!

so you got it as a fire? or this is the one that they didnt know what it was and just assumed it was a fire? Only reason I ask is because I know you were selling or trying to sell her as a fire and I was just curious to know.
She is gorgeous BTW

Throwing up pictures that show her as 6 very different colors makes it virtually impossible to say if she is anything....

I took the ad down because of the fact that she seemed more like a spector than a fire, she really isnt normal. I am fairly sure of that.

Yea, that why I took the outdoor pics, the lighting inside kept changing her color in the photos. The outdoor photos are better representations of her true color (even tho it doesnt seem to still be right). It's very hard to explain, but she really isnt a normal. I know that there are a few subtle morphs that all kinda look a like with slight color difference (ie, fire, vanilla, spector, even YB [except belly]), she really has every feature of a spector (but it tends to be the same features as the fire as well). So because a spector is slightly darker than a fire (and she is darker than an average fire), thats where the spector thought came in, mixed with all descriptors. Either that or she is a browned out or just a darker than normal fire. Based on the pics online from the people in the spector and superstripe projects, she really looks just like them...

And I did get it as a fire and then found out after the story about them assuming it was fire because it resembles the other one that they got as a fire.

took them to a local breeder of fires today to compare them. In my opinion and his opinion they are fires thru and thru. They are a little darker than I would like, but fires they are. On another note, the female is male :(. That is ok tho, got a good enough deal on them that that is still fine. Thanks for everyones help! It is much appreciated...

only fires if you prove them out as a line that produces blackeyed lucys,if you didnt buy it from a breeder that is reputable & has a proven line you have to prove it yourself.

While I agree that it should be proven to make fires, it doesn't have to make black eyed lucies to prove its a fire, all fires make black eyed lucies.

I kept hearing that same line about yellowbelly's, the fact is if it is a yellowbelly it will make Ivories, or it's not a yellowbelly, the same applies with fires.

The yellowbelly thing started because of all the CH babies that were being called yellowbellies because of their appearance (as well as countless other normals that inspired I think it's a yellowbelly threads)....so, I can see where somebody would apply that same thought in this particular case. The people he got the snakes from ASSumed the one is a fire, because it looked similar to one they were told was a fire.
