If anyone is curious... My friend bought this dragon last week and it is here with me boarding at the moment. I came across this ad because the dragon my friend bought is appears to be a male, not a female. I noticed it bobbing yesterday and took a look at the vent, and there are hemipene bulges. I posted the pic to have others take a look before letting my friend know he had an adult dragon sold to him with the wrong sex. I also noticed the seller claimed it is 18" and 650 grams. It is 16" and 513.5 grams. Still a good weight though, just not anywhere near what the seller said( unless it shrunk?).
I have some concerns about how it was shipped too. The box came to my friend with no insulation, no bag( the dragon was loose in the box), only newspaper in it and hot hands( NOT uni heat). Definitely wrong on a few levels, I'm surprised the poor thing made it okay all the way from CA to MA.

I will say the dragon is pretty! I think the price was way too high though. I feel really bad for my friend, who wanted a female, not a male. I feel like the seller must have known...

I would suggest for anyone dealing with this seller in the future to use caution and to keep good documents. Also perhaps explain how you want your animal shipped and to see non tampered photos. Maybe double check the sex...

This just gets worse not better. Do you know if any guarantees were given regarding the sex of the animal in question? I'd say a refund or a partial refund are owed to the buyer. I mean if he knows anything about the animals in his care the seller should have known the correct sex.

From the tone of the guys responses and his obvious lack of knowledge or lack of responsiblility with his shipping practices. Looks like we've got a minor who needs to grow up and learn how to properly care for the animals he purchases/sells.

Sorry your friend got ripped. But Im glad the dragon isnt in the kids' care any longer. Looks like a beautiful animal Im sure your friend can find another home or use him.

I had a buyer question me about shipping because I wouldnt ship without first having the proper heat packs. They had the nerve to suggest hand warmers. I said if they couldnt wait for the animals to be properly packed & shipped they could go elsewhere. Good sellers dont skimp on the packing materials.

Glad this guy says hes getting out of herps & I hope hes telling the truth. We already have too many of these types floating around the hobby.

He didn't literally garuntee it, he just stated it was a female. And in his post he talked about how "she" would have large clutches. But that is what they agreed upon, a female bearded dragon.

He has tried contacting the seller and has not heard back. It really sucks for my friend, but at least people know about this guy and hopefully the next person will not get scammed.

I am not even into Bearded Dragons, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I agree with most everyone prior to me and believe something should be done about this "kid". Judging from the grammar of the seller I would say he is no more than 16 years old. Glad ripping someone off was worth $450 to you.

On his current chameleon ads he's offering a 30 day guarantee. That is basically unheard of. Unfortunate not everyone does check into backgrounds of sellers as much as they should. Until they learn they have to because of stuff like this. Its really amazing though Nick continues to place ads and continues to burn people when he's already in the spotlight. Yet still gets away with it. As you said its a nice animal. He could have sold it for what it was and still made money is my guess. I don't know the price difference in adult dragons male/females but Id be upset to receive mis sexed animal that I paid for . Its happen to me with geckos , I filed claim with pay pal as I didn't receive what I paid for. Good Luck

Well, what is equally as upsetting is this very handsome male was purchased DURING this inquiry.. I am somewhat glad Mr. Fishy isn't in possession of him anymore considering the manner in which he shipped him (it throws up a red flag to me that he didnt give 2 sh¿ts about him or his well being) but someone is still burned on the deal and someone else is still pushing animals out the door even with me trying to warn the community that we have a "bad egg" among us... As far as I'm concerned Mel, your friend made his bed (KNOWING full well this guy was not an honest person), now he can sleep in it. I have NO sympathy for him at all.

Usually when your selling something at a discount or loss (from your perspective), It is your loss and their gain.

Now, I actually think you might have been correct when you tell perspective buyers that it will be their loss and your gain when they purchase from you.

Anyway, I see that you have been warned about not having your correct location in your profile that is why I was looking at your ads. To see how you posted so many before being warned about no location.

According to the screenshots your location was there and you removed it. So, I will have to assume you removed it because of this thread. Well, that isn't going to happen here. You are required to use your full location in the classifieds. You will be posting no more ads without it and all your previous ads will incur infractions if you do not put it back in your profile.

Well nick said that he has taken care of the dragon dispute, and to get a life. So i hope your friend is happy with the outcome. Regardless I would never get anything from him ever.

Comment #22 states otherwise and it is wrong of me to believe Nick at all so if your friend in fact didn't know, I am sorry for my previous comment. As I stated, I was under the impression they were aware.. If that male only had background info I would mind having him myself... He is a handsome boy and a pretty Orange.

Okay so lets say everything I have ever done wrong... THE FACTS
1. I posted pictures with to much saturation, as it was an accident because I was using the close up photo style from my camera that my girlfriend showed me and the saturation was turned on full. I found out later and apologized
2. I bought a sick chameleon from alejandro17, then posted a BOI on him selling me the sick chameleon and not being refunded. (apparently him assuring me the chameleon is healthy, but was not, and me being nice enough to buy the chameleon because he stated "his volvo needed work done so he needed to sell her fast because he needed cash"- when in reality the chameleon was sick and he was trying to pawn it off on someone (me) ---i still have no idea how i did anything wrong there, i was just trying to warn others of his practices--- regardless of my own
3. I sold the bearded dragon, which turned out to be a male, and was to the best of my knowledge healthy, i thought i shipped fine, express overnight, with heat pads and extra padding, i paid extra for 500 dollars worth of insurance, checked the tracking, and updated him along the way with the shipping - brandon oconnell was refunded 200 dollars.
4. I haven't been the nicest on this forum because no one has been nice to me or taken my view of anything, people jump on the forum after having little knowledge of the situation and pass judgement.
5. Everyone has been harassing me with anything I post to sell as I am getting out of herps because obviously its not what I thought it would be, so as I am trying to sell the animals jack has been commenting and following me like a stalker who is sitting behind a computer all day furious.
6. The animals that I have remaining all went to chameleons101 and he is my friend and was happy to take them in so there is no reason to comment on this anymore, it is obvious people like to keep bumping the thread because clearly they see me as the spawn of Satan of sellers and am a evil person who deserves to die and has never done anything good for the reptile community ever..

so as I don't care if this gets deleted or what, I would like to give a farewell to all the happy campers out there who have nothing else better to do than sit on a computer and be pissed off! GO OUTSIDE AND GET SOME FRESH AIR! THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN LIZARDS TAKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND ON A DATE!

Well, I actually had only 2 questions for you. #1 How could you not know the sex of the dragon you posted for sale? #2. I asked why in an earlier post you pulled your ads without explanation after being called out on the "fishy" pics?

I can understand f'n up when dealing with a new camera. Im a picture taking newb myself. You could have stated that your a novice and f'd up and appologized and posted new pics. It would have been a non factor after that. Alot of your issues with the boi & its members on this site are your own doing. Your childlike antics and spoiled brat behavior had most of us thinking you are a minor because you act like one.

You not knowing the sex of the dragon and selling a male as a female thats just ridiculous. It was a full grown lizard too we arent talking about a freshly hatched dragon. If you knew anything about the animals in your care and their proper husbandry you'd be able to sex a full grown dragon. Ive never owned a dragon and I can sex one!

Keep in mind this isn't just the online community you're dealing with, either -- the local reptile communities in the Bay Area are pretty tight knit ones.

With an attitude like this and at the rate you're burning your bridges I suspect one day soon you're going to find it hard to buy or sell locally from any of the really reputable local breeders and hobbyists.

im a psych major, not a lizard major... so i think i can deal, once again this shows you haven't payed any attention to prior post as i stated i have no more reptiles anyways. but yeah posting on my phone in class is getting old so good day guys have fun being incredible angry on here
