The following one is a very large story about about my nightmare experience with Sean Trotter and his ridiculous company. If you don't have time to read everything I can resume in few words:
save your money, prevent headaches and buy your racks from a serious company.
Sean Trotter is a liar, clearly doesn't know nothing about building racks, will send you a rack very poor build (if you are lucky to receive something) and doesn't know what customer service is. I think the biggest problem with this guy is that he has many orders, and he doesn't know his job, so he is late with deliveries (if you check his facebook page you'll see that he is late several weeks with deliveries) .
My history is so surreal that someone could think that is not real, or that I'm exaggerating: luckily I have all the emails saved to prove what I'm writing. Is very difficult to talk to Sean and he NEVER call you back, even after that your house is going on fire for his incompetence.
Everything starts on 12/15 , when I contact sean for a quote.
The final order is placed on 12/19 and is the following one (I copy and paste from my emails)

this rack should have 2 chords
1 sweaterbox rack

Sean quotes me $450 for the first one and $375 for the second one, for a total of $825 and when I ask when will be delivered he replies ( I copy and paste also this from his email)
"Looks like 1st week of January to have everything to you "
I have $15000 of rare snakes coming from Europe, so I want everything ASAP and offer more money to have the rack by the 3rd of january at home. I explain this to Sean , so he knows the extreme importance to have everything ready for the date I need them. This is what Sean reply:
"Sounds good $925 and I will make sure it is all perfect " (Att. It's $100 more of his initial quote)
I sent him my credit card information and there start the problems.
On the 3rd of january I don't receive my racks, but the diagrams for the racks, that I need to confirm.
He is late, so he offers a customization that I accept.
2 weeks late I start to worry, I don't have my racks (Remember I paid $100 to have the racks on the 3rd).
On the 16th Sean assure me that racks will go out the same week. This is the FIRST of the several lies he will tell me. They are able to ship only 1 of the rack by the end of the week. The other rack is supposed to go out next week.
On the 23rd, exactly 20 days after I was supposed to receive the complete orders, I receive half order (and the second rack didn't went out on Monday as he assured, SECOND Sean LIE)
THIRD LIE. The rack has not the customization that he promised.
Worst, is not the Rack I ordered: I ordered 15 high x 2 wide, I received 10 x 3.
I paid for tubes with holes. None of the tubes I receive has holes.
Worst of all, IS VERY POOR BUILT! on his old website or facebook page I don't remember, he states that he has extremely precise machine.
If that is true, he has no idea how to use them. Rack can be usable for baby ball python, not for hatchlings colubrids, look the pictures:
in one shelf there is enough space for my fingers to fit between the tubes and the plastic sheet,
In other 4 tubes also there is enough space for hatchling colubrids to escape.
Not only there are gaps, look the rack, after few days started to bend , is the worst job I ever seen
And this is not all, now comes the best part. Do you remember I asked for 2 chords? I told him
that I needed 2 different temperatures in the rack.
Well, I plug the 2 chords in my BRAND NEW wonderful $339 Herpstat 4 and, surprise surprise,
Flames start to come out from the thermostat and the plugs, and BLACK OUT in the apt.
You know what Sean did??? look the pictures, I didn't notice because was at the bottom of the rack.
The Genius put 2 plugs, but connected the 2 heat tapes together. A kid knows that if you put 2 chords on the same circuit, and you plug them, you will have a shortcircuit. Well, a kid knows, Sean doesn't know.
At this point I was pretty pissed off:
My order was 3 weeks late, I received only half order and a model different from the one I ordered, was crappy build,
without the options I asked for and, best of the best, my apartment was going on fire because of the Sean ineptitude. Ah, and I had 23 rare asian ratsnakes coming in in 2 days.
Well, I was pissed off but I try to work things out. I start to be scared that I will loose also the rest of the order, and my money.
I tell him that I want the rack I ordered and can send this back when will be ready. The one I received is not the rack I want and is defective. He has to send me the correct one and that is working properly. I paid for that. Sean never took in consideration the option of refunding me.

When I tell him about the tape, that I was going on fire and that I lost $339 of thermostat, this is what he reply.
First BS:
The only reason you use two wires is for a backup, that is why one was completely taped off. You would NEVER plug them both in at the same time.
WTF????? I explain him that I clearly told him I needed 2 different temperatures in the rack and, in any case why the hell someone needs a backup chord??? What's the point???
Second BS (and this is offensive, because Sean think that he is talking to an idiot)
From a thermodynamics standpoint you can’t do 2 temperatures side by side. You will actually average the heat on the lower and raise the temp of the warmer.
From a thermodynamic point of view? Really ??? What a great thermodynamic engineer Sean is, what a great explanation. I'm sure he is as good in thermodynamic engineering as he is in electrical engineering.Probably he think he is a smart guy and can tell BS to everybody, also if the BS is so stupid and ridiculous.
I'd like to show Sean, dinamically, where he can go.
So I ask again for a refund, or to change the rack, or to pay at least the herpstat repair. But he doesn't even take in consideration my legitim requests.
I was so desperate that I also offered to pay 50% of cost of repair of my thermostat but he didn't accept.
Here what he offers:
He will send me a tool to do the holes by myself in the tubes (come on, I hate doing holes in the tubes, I paid to receive holes already done)
He will send me a sheet of plastic to close the gaps btw the tubes and the plastic sheet (what a nice crappy rack I will have)
He will send me a Ranco thermostat and 2 tapes with 2 chord to switch with the one I have in the rack (mmm nice, a ranco in trade a herpstat 4 that cost 6 times more and works 1000 times better)
He will send me $150 as refund for the mistakes. And he will customize the new rack for me with 2 additional arboreal tubes.
Just to remember, I have 23 rare snakes that I cannot keep at proper temperature for his fault. I push to have the thermostat and the new tapes shipped out as soon as possible, so he reassure me that he will ship them out.
On 1/26 I ask if he shipped out the thermostat,

This is an other FAT LIE from Sean, the tapes didn't went out on the 27.
Ah, and in the meantime the $150 refund became $75 , because to custom build rack he has to divide the rack in 2, so basically he needs 1 small plastic sheet more and few screws, and I have to pay for a customization he offers me to repay all the mistakes he did. The mind of this guy is really twisted.
Just to compare the nonexistent Sean customer service, I will give you an example of excellent customer service. When flames came out from the thermostat, I taught that was a thermostat problem. So I wrote to George Knaack of GLKHerp ( I bought the thermostat from him) that the thermostat gave me a problem. George wrote me back after 5 minutes (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HAPPENED AT NIGHT) that Dion Brewington, the owner of Spyder Robotics, will contact me soon. Dion send me an email after few minutes, offering to ship a new thermostat back for free next day by priority, before receiving the one supposed to be defective, and to pay for the shipping cost of the defective one. When I understand that was not the thermostat to be defective, (and that defective are the limited electronic skills of Sean), Dion offers to repair the thermostat at no cost if that was possible, or to change the broken pieces at cost, and he also paid for shipping back the thermostat by priority.
So in the meantime that I shipped back the herpstat to Dione, Dione fixed it and sent me back and delivered (all this in few days) Sean continue to lie that he shipped to me a new heat tape: for about 1 week he lied as usually does: tomorrow you will receive the trk # (never sent, he didn't shipped the tape), friday I will send your racks, accessories have been shipped out, tomorrow I will send you the trk # ecc ecc
As you expect, on friday he sent me an email that racks will go out on Monday. This time is fault of the supplier because didn't delivered the tubes. At this point I'm used to his lies.
He never stops bullshixxing me. There is always something that doesn't work, and is never his fault.
When, for the 20th time I tell him that all this situation is ridicoulus and the only thing he should do is giving me a refund because all this has been a total mess, here what he replies to me:
You are getting a lot more then you originally paid for. If you were to order what you are getting you are looking at $1,400.
So, because he is adding 2 arboreals tubes to my orders, I should be happy to have a crappy rack , a model that I didn't ordered, to eat the loss for a burnt thermostat and all the problems that he caused to me. And all this, in his twisted thought, would be also worth about $600.
I reply him that I don't want "a lot more than I originally paid for" I would have been happy to receive ONLY what I paid for, well built, and on time, not 6 weeks late.
After all this nightmare I'm sure you can give better use to your money and buy from someone else.
Sean will talk to you as if you are stupid, will continuosly lie about shipping dates and, IF YOU ARE LUCKY,
you will receive a rack that is crappy built and with some accessories missing. And forgot to send back the racks for a refund. I offered this option to Sean several times, he did not accept. He thinks I have to keep and be happy with what he sent.
I'm writing IF YOU ARE LUCKY because I'm pretty sure Sean will go out of business soon.
His racks are crap, he doesn't know what is honesty, his customer service is nonexistent, he never will call you back. He didn't even call after I wrote him I was going on fire. Most of the times he reply to your emails after long time. The only thing he wants is your money.
I have proof of everything. I have the emails, I have the payment I sent out, I have the trk#, I have the pictures.
At the end of this nightmare I'm stuck with this rack that I don't want and that is not working properly (and looks bad with the fix he sent me and that I had to fix by myself) My order has been fulfilled in almost 8 weeks, with 6 weeks of delay with the estimated delivery. I was not able to keep my rare animals at the temperature I wanted and with improper ventilation for weeks. I had to pay by myself the repair for the thermostat (and I was lucky to deal with a great guy as Dion of spyder robotycs, or my loss would have been of $339), and worst of all I had to deal with Sean, that treated me as a fool, and lied me for weeks. All this has been cause of big frustration, not only for the money involved, but mainly because I was worried for the health of my animals.
I'm sure Sean is reading this now and probably this time he will not ask for support on his facebook page as he did in the past after bad reviews, because he doesn't want his customers and his possible customers to read all this.
I ask again the same questions I asked him 1000 times, maybe he will reply here:
1) If he sent me a model I didn't order and that is also defective , why he didn't accept to take it back and send me the correct one? or why he didn't accept to send me a refund?
2) He never told me why I had to pay additional $100 for my order.
3) Why I have to pay for shipping for items that HE has to replace?
4) Which kind of people are doing the electric installation in his racks? Really,
if they don't even know that 2 plugs on the same circuit cause a short circuit,
if you buy from him you really risk to have your house on fire.
5) Which kind of business is that?
How he can lie so shamelessly to his customers?
How is possible that his crappy racks are delivered 6 weeks late his estimated delivery?
As of Monday 2/6 nothing has been shipped out. Sean lied again.
I tried to call several times the office. the lady who take the phone calls told me that my order would have been shipped out today. That was not true, not only Sean is a liar in LST plastics.
When I asked why nobody reply my emails or take the phone calls she told me that was really a busy day. That's weird, because exactly 5 seconds after I posted a message in his Facebook page, my post has been cancelled (I just asked about my shipping, nothing more) and I've been blocked.
I can understand 3 days, 1 week, maybe also 10 days of delays. But how is possible 6 weeks late? How is possible he needs 2 months tu fulfill a small order? If he is not able to calculate the exact time of delivery, means that he has no idea of what he is doing. Or he is lying to you to take your money. In both cases is not a person you want do business with: or he is incompetent, or he is a cheater. He knew the importance to have the racks on time for me. He should had the honesty to tell me that he was unable to fulfill my order , so I would not have been in troubles.
I ask here, in public, again for a refund. I will wait 36 hours more (few weeks ago he said that he didn't sent a refund because a claim was made and he don't want to pay twice, well now I didn't the claim, send back my money).
If other people are in the same situation, please contact me, we can try to report him all togheter.
