Bad Guy pendragon_j Jonathan Hammond

Maybe it is unclear what she is asking for. Tell me if this math seems odd...
2500.00 for the deal
- 159.00 shipping

2341.00 for me.
She want a refund Plus shipping both ways back
2500.00
+ 159.00
+ 159.00

2818.00 to her and -318.00 to me. I don't think so. Not going to do it

 How does that even make sense? I would be getting my $2500 back. That's ALL I would be getting besides a headache. Everything else is to the shipping company not me. ????????

Will you admit that I spoke with your boyfriend / partner the day of. That the tail tip was mentioned then and that no refund or any form of displeasure was offered at that point?

I've never denied that... as you say, at that point. He isn't the most observant person. And as I stated in the beginning of the thread... I'm in college, full time. I stay pretty busy. The first time I saw them I was in a hurry and wanted to let them settle in in hopes that they would start feeding soon so that I could start using them. This past weekend, I wasn't rushed and had time to really look at them. I didn't know that Daniel hadn't seen the kink. He had to go back to Pensacola to go to work right after he dropped them off. All of my animals are in Atmore, AL, and most of my time is spent in Pensacola, FL due to school. (reason I have only snakes at the moment)

Hearing about the nubbed tail pi$$ed me off as it would anyone who had just paid for a healthy animal. When I saw all the bite marks or whatever they are I hoped they would come out with a few sheds. The kink is what really done it for me. You know we wanted these snakes for breeders. I'm not breeding a kinked up snake. Mites were just icing on the cake.

You know what really doesn't make sense, Jonathan? Shipping chewed up, feces covered, mite infested snakes. It's very apparent that you, like many others, have started getting into bps for cash. You screwed up in a big way, I don't care what the OP said or didn't say. Take the snakes back, give the OP ALL of her money back, and do right by the snakes.

It's going to cost you some cash, but doing this will possibly make an investment into your identity. If I was you, and I looked at the animals that I sent, I wouldn't feel really good about myself. That might not register with you, but for your sake, I hope it does.

You are the type of person that makes an argument against regulation of this hobby very difficult to make. As a long time reptile lover, that's a really hard statement for me to put forward.

Chris

and -318.00 to me.

Jonathan, if you take a look at the big picture, $318 is such a small amount of money to be so stubborn over...really. The pied's tail would be one of those things you include in your "for sale" ad, not something that needs to be asked about upon receipt of animal. The mites, well they could be from you...maybe they're not. You guaranteed health for one month, and issues were brought up well within that time frame. Eat the shipping, save yourself some customers. You could potentially be risking dozens of future sales over the price of an albino...do you think that's a wise move???

If it comes down to risking sales to prevent someone from making extra money on a deal or cherry picking the snakes they want and breaking up the deal. Then I will risk that.
I will not give her more money than she paid to keep me out of a BOI thread.

Really???? Let me put this loud and clear for you.

NOBODY IS ASKING YOU TO GIVE HER ANY MORE MONEY THAN SHE PAID FOR THE SNAKES. THE ADDITIONAL SHIPPING COSTS ARE NOT GOING IN HER POCKET. THEY ARE GOING TO HELP FIX A SITUATION THAT YOU CAUSED.

Now that that's said, I will leave this thread alone if you will answer one question for me.

Do you feel that the animals that you shipped to the OP were in acceptable condition for sale?

Chris

You're my HERO! lol

Wonder if that makes sense now that you said it? :shrug01:

She will not be making a dime if you were to pay return shipping. I agree that her trying to get the pied female for $1,000 was outright ridiculous, if not sneaky, which is why you standing by taking the animals back as the group is fine. It also says that for Jennifer, mites are fine if the price is right. That's not the issue. You will be out $318 for shipping out an animal that shouldn't have been sold without at least disclosing its condition...which is dishonesty by omission on your part. She will not make out on this deal at all.

Look back in her pm list she provided the asked for refund and shipping BOTH ways. Sense I have already paid the shipping to her the first time. How is that not going into her pocket?
The shipment was accepted at the time by her bf/partner. We were on the phone and there was NO problem then. When the guy on the other end say's they're good then they're good. As soon as there were other issues I offered to refund. The nip was no longer a concern because he said it wasn't a concern. Once there were questions about other issues I offered her money back. But sense the shipment was oked by her bf/partner. I do not feel obligated to pay for return shipping. I'm going to go ahead and head out now. Since I offered you health for a month, I'm sorry for my initial response of reseeding my offer to return. I'll honor it for the full month I gave in the pm. Let me know what you decide

Sorry one last thing shipping is 159.00. She wants shipping cost to her and back again. Even though I paid shipping to her the first time. It wasn't part of the purchase price. That is why it's 318. She asked for shipping both ways and a refund on top. That is where the 318.00 is coming from.

Ok, simply put, you agreed to pay the shipping prior to sending her an inferior product. That's on you. As a seller selling inferior product, return shipping should be on you as well. The money is not going in her pocket, but rather covering your major lapse in judgement.

While the info from both parties is really sporadic on this deal, let me pose a hypothetical solution to this and let's see how big a man Jonathan is.

Jennifer, if I'm not mistaken, you paid $2500 shipped on this group of animals, correct?

If that is the case, then would you accept $2659 in return for the animals. That would leave you at the exact same place, save some mite treatment and such, as you were at the beginning of the deal.

Jonathan, that would not have her making any cash at all, and it would also have you taking responsibility for shipping inferior quality animals.

If the above statements are true, that would be the easiest solution to the issue.

Chris

This is what I've been saying; or, I'd be happy with $2500 and a prepaid shipping label if he feels he is lining my pocket in some way.

This is the way I see it. I bought a group of animals. One has major issues. I still wanted the others in the group. If he'll only take them back as a group, then so be it. Its probably a better solution for me anyway considering the mites. I never wanted this to turn into a P*$$*** match. I simply asked about a partial refund the way I had originally saw it. He could have made some sort of counter offer if he felt what I said was unfair. I'm just not willing to pay for someone elses mistake. If he isn't willing to make this right, then its on him. It is his reputation on the line. I'm not going to fight over this and act like a 5yo. I will keep these guys in quarantine till they are 100% healthy and give the pied male away to a local collector that I know won't breed it.

She wouldn't ship first, you haven't been upfront during this deal, no reason to think you'd start now. She sent you the cash before you sent her animals, right? Sending her the cash first would be a step in you reclaiming your selling reputation.

Chris

I actually think that is a fair offer Chris. As long as it is the full group and she ships first. I would fully agree to that.

Seems like you guys should have been able to come to this all along, just not hitting the right notes of communication with each other...good for you, settle it.

Doesn't the buyer normally send money before they receive animals anyway? And the animals are normally returned before a refund is issued? I don't see what you're getting at.
