In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Doc Walker, reptidoc, Dr. Daryl G. Walker = buyer beware

I just can't help but think that there was something I did wrong, but just can't think of anything except the fact that I bought from doc. :(
Poor baby snake. :( At least he never came into contact with any of MY snakes.

Don't say things like that. I really doubt it was anything you did.

Doc has been shown to prey on exploiting the "well you were a newbie, you probably killed it" angle.

The scary part is that he is still selling snakes and breeding more. If the problem was not feeding them, why breed more?
Reptilebaby I am sorry to hear about your baby, it was nothing you did. Doc did it and is still getting away with it.

I really hope others find these threads so they dont fall victim to him

It is not your fault at all. The damage was done long before you got him. If anything you did him a favor and at least he got to live with regular meals in the end. I am so sorry and do not blame yourself. Blame the person that did the obvious irreversible damage to the poor baby.

Sad thing is I'm not really a newbie to keeping snakes. :( Had them since the year before I joined here.

I don't think it was "not feeding them" I think they had a disease, because another snake in quarantine died a couple days ago.(his wife forgot that mine was there and put a new one of theirs into the rack where mine was and they couldn't put her into their other rack once it was exposed to mine) Mine just had too good of body mass to have been starved-going to take him to the vet and have tests done as soon as we can. Vet is 4 hours away. :(

Theirs had been to the vet when they got it-their son took it on one of his trips and it checked out as healthy and all the paperwork came back negative too. There was no doubt that the problem came from mine.

I will definitely be posting the findings.:( I hope I can get there before too much deterioration is done to the body. My problem is our next trip to Omaha isn't scheduled till the 28th of this month. :(

If at all possible, do not freeze the body. Refrigerate only, if you can.

Bad for the site and the hobby !!!!!!!!

The big picture that no one is touching on is how come Rich Z is letting Doc.W sell his snakes on the forum. It is only going to hurt the forum in the long run. The fact is too many people have lost animals from Doc, This is not a case of 1 or 2 dead animals per year. The site is going to be known for having no quality control. Soon people will say watch out if your going to buy a snake off any of the people on cornsnakes.com because there are sellers on there that are known for selling animals that are dieing on a lot of people and no one is doing anything about it. Not trying to start crap or light a fire under RZ butt to piss him off. I'm being honest, you people know how bad word spreads around the hobby. The reputation of the forum is at stake. The forum has built a reputation over many years for being a place to get the right information about corn snakes and a place to get a healthy animals. Don't get me wrong there are bad apples on every forum no matter what type of fauna your dealing with. Another thing I can see when a person has a problem with a seller every once and a while but all these deaths from one breeder and they are still allowed to sell their animals on the site. That is where the forum looks bad. I love corn snakes.com and I'm a proud member of the forum. I breed, buy and sell snakes. I not only send my corn snake customers to the site to learn about the animal they just bought, but when I'm out of stock or I don't have a morph that someone is asking for I send them to the site. If this keeps up then I'm going to have to write them a list of who too & who not to trust on the site, boy that will look real good to someone that is thinking of joining . This is nothing personal against Doc Walker. I like the guy. I have talked to him a few times. I don't know what is going on with his animals but I know If I seen something he was selling that I really wanted I would not get it. I be too afraid that it might not be healthy and it might wind up dead like so many other animals that other people got off Doc. This is all around bad for the hobby

I am really not too surprised and I am sorry for your loss. The only thing I see bad out of this is your statement about the other one dying also. It was put in the rack with the Daryl hatchling. So he can say it caused the one from him to die. Please keep us posted on what the vets finds.

He COULD, but since my friend had his snake tested at the vet for everything possible shortly after he got it and EVERYTHING came back as normal...there's no way it could have been caused by her.

That is good, glad he did that. I wasn't saying you all did anything wrong I hope it didn't come across like that.

At the risk of pulling the thread off topic... :ack2:

Fauna has NEVER claimed "quality control" over the people using the site. Rich is not the judge and jury to decide who posts and who doesn't. If ONE person were to decide that, then ONE person would also be making mistakes along the way, and who would you then be holding responsible for those mistakes?

What Rich does is provide a critical resource that YOU can use to learn whether or not YOU choose to do business with any given individual. It's not Rich's job to "protect" you from the bad guys.

Fauna has been here for years, doing exactly what it is doing now. If its reputation hasn't been "destroyed" by now, it's most assuredly not going to be ruined by this.

You might want to consider opening a new thread in the "FaunaClassifieds Feedback Forum" if you want to debate who should or should not be allowed to post here. Doing it in a thread like this is likely to get you (and folks like me who feel compelled to reply  ) in trouble.

Hope, It didn't come across like that at all. :)

My friend's a pretty good guy and very understanding-but he doesn't mess around with his animals' health. He normally does have new animals checked out by a vet since his son goes to the city fairly frequently. :)

Oops! I meant NOPE, didn't come across like that! lol Can't spell worth a dang today!
