    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My male was locked up yesterday (evening) with one of my females. Tonight I get him out of the rack and notice he has dried blood around his vent! It's not fresh blood but he didn't have any blood yesterday morning. He seems in great health other than the blood. What could be wrong? Should I do anything? Could it have came from the female?

Usually nothing to worry about - you'll sometimes see blood smears on the substrate or tub, or a little around the vent.

Thank you so much for answering, I've been stressing out. So sometimes that's normal when breeding? It's not very much blood but it's nerve racking. Do you know if comes from the male or female?

A little blood around the vent isn't a big deal at all Christina. It could be from either sex and you'll sometimes even see it after they shed.

Thanks Dustin! It's Dumpster that this happened to. That's the male I got from you last year. I very gently popped him and checked out his goods and all looked fine. LOL. I'm feeling much better about it, now might be able to get some sleep tonight.

haha yeah I'm sure he's fine, is he still demolishing rats? Looking forward to seeing what his babies look like, I bet they will grow very well if they take after him!

That darn snake will eat anything. He's freaking huge!!! I watch my hands when I open the rack because he's a glutton and is always ready to lay his teeth into some food, once he realizes that I don't have any food he becomes the perfect gentleman. LMAO. I will for sure show you pics of his offspring if I get some this year...I should he has been breeding with four females!!!

that will be very cool! I hope you hit on it! I'm going for black eye's this year too but I'm hoping for high orange ones because I did an Ember het hypo to a fire female so we'll see what happens.

That's exciting!!! You definitely have to send me some pics if you score. I got my fingers crossed for both of us. LOL I don't think it gets much better than black eyes with red pupils. :dgrin:

Blood on vent is common on both males and females, after breeding and after shedding. I know lotsa people already answered before me but I always like to have multiple opinions on such things so thought I would post anyways. I would worry if there is ALOT of blood, but, a little, no biggey! Good luck on the season

Oh yes I always love to get many opinions especially when it has to do with the health of my snakes!!! Thank you sooo much for taking the time to answer. He's doing well so I feel it was just from breeding, I would have never known it was normal without all my fauna buddies great help. :yesnod:
