In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Fedex packages getting stuck in Memphis, TN.

This happened to me last week. I had a package coming from Sean Niland that arrived in Memphis at 6:48 am, then it was held in Memphis all day.....

.....Now granted the package was held up in Colorado because of a wind storm, but why can it not leave Memphis for a full day?? It arrived at 6:48am. Is there only one plane? I think not.

It really worries me since everything I get in my area comes via the Memphis hub.

I can shed a little light on why it sat there all day. I don't work for FedEx but do work for UPS' Next Day operations here in Louisville.

If the package didn't get there until 6:48 in the morning then it had already missed all of the outbound flights for the day. Yes, there would be another round of flights later in the afternoon but those would be servicing the 2 Day and 3 Day volume. Next day volume is seldom able to be sent with the 2 and 3 day volume. Often times if it were it would be delayed another day. It's actually quicker to be held in Memphis for the day, strange as that may seem.

Well, I have been keeping track of a snake I am being sent from Cali, and sure enough, it is now in memphis... I hope what Jerry said above is true... Hopefully since it got there at 1:20 am it should stay on schedule. I guess we will see.

Incredible!! I also ordered 1000live crickets and mealworms lay thursday and was expecting them Friday but they just it here today!!! Even though I didn't get as many dead as I expected its still unbelievable!!

Oh, I forgot to reply to this before. The snake I ordered got here on schedule. It arrived at the Memphis hub at about 1:30 am and left a few hours later. Can you check the tracking for your package and see what time it arrived there?

No problem shipping Fedex,I use priority and std overnight with great results.

I do know there were delays due to massive flooding then tornado's. and frankly that's understandable.

Just FYI ALL FedEx overnight packages go through Memphis hub, regardless of origination or destination.

Actually that is not 100% accurate. If you are shipping from a major city, and just within state, your package will likely not leave the state on Priority Overnight shipments.

Shipping from Denver to another city in Colorado, for example. Houston to another city in Texas, etc.

Still not 100% accurate. It DOES depend on your origin and destination. If I have a package coming from the northeast, Atlantic coast or upper midwest it comes through Indianapolis. From the south, southwest or west coast it comes through Memphis.

Since we are getting particular there is one in California as well. Anything I get from the western states obviously gets held there instead of going all the way to Memphis.

I have not had a problem with them being held but fedex did put a plastic bag over a box I sent out and the animal died during delivery.

I would doubt a plastic bag around your box would kill your animal, the travel itself would be harder on your animal then a bag around the outside of the box.

I recently had a package go through Mephis, no issues.
