In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Reptiles by Rekowski

Im also kind of curious how you said you dont want to hurt his buisness but posted a bad guy thread and said you wanted to warn others from buying from him. I cant see anyway that would not hurt his buisness.

I did not say that. I clearly said "please inspect every centimeter of the geckos you will buy from him". And I am pretty sure you would've been as paranoid as I am if this would've happen to you when you plan a going to a reptile show and buying health animals and end up With an animal that has problems

No, not directly but called him out about the quality of his animals and put up a bad guy thread with his name on it.
I also inspect every animal before I hand cash to anyone when I go to reptile shows, also know well enough to grab a buisness card and receipt.

But oh well you seem understanding about it I was just curious about that.

I made the tread to maki him and people aware and I know guarantee you that he will inspect his animal many times over than he did before therefore providing better quality animal and happie customers. And newcomers will also learn from this thread and take it into considerations to check. And inspect every single animal from small scale breeders to large scale breeders. Heck I've even seen a BOI on BHB reptiles on bp.net

I am going to, challengingly enough, take the high road on this except to say to Frederico and all interested; I definetly do not need someone to post a BOI bad guy thread about me, my business, and my reputation to guarantee "I will inspect my animals many times over", or to "guarantee.....I will therefore provide better quality animal(s)"
I hope that "newcomers" take away from this, that they should first communicate with the person involved before attacking them on a public forum (especially when they provide no proof of any wrong doing whatsoever).

You did not. The BOI is unique to this site. Other sites might have sections that deal with buyers/sellers, the BOI is only on Fauna.

Did I miss proof of your vet visit?
Really, if you bought this critter there you should have looked her over better. And if you found an issue, you should have contacted your seller first.

Federico, do you have proof of purchase? Is there anyone who can vouch that the critter in question is in fact from Mike?

I learned something during reading about this transaction.

I didn't understand what would be so difference between taking something back right then at the show, and/or returning something (animal) after it's been in someone else's collection for a while.:shrug01:

One thing that I have noticed is that buying from a show, unless you take pictures of every animal displayed at the show, and place the pictures under neath that or attachment, and write down the buyer's name on the picture when it's sold, it may be possible for a buyer to purchase a gecko, trade it with their sickly one and return it...I am getting so jaded... (how many of us can recognize every single animal we produce?).

Just a lesson that may prevent this particular situation from happening in the future, because as far as "quarantine," or being careful at shows, the animals are already exposed, and would have to be quarantined once returned anyway, right?

So, in the future, I would have pictures of all my animals so that customers can return them right then and there while I have an opportunity to satisfy a customer and I can still sell it and save having to have an additional animal in my quarantine section.

Otherwise, I find no fault in the seller's handling of the matter after reviewing many possible scenarios/outcomes.

As pointed out...those eye sheds left could have come while in the buyer's possession.:shrug01:

heres the proof: the first picture is when i first got her > the second picture is me syringe feeding her with the solution since she wasnt eating > the third picture is the day that the couple picked her up > the fourth picture is a text from the couple that took her after they also took her to the vet.

Post before and after pics of the gecko in question.

Miamimike, I rarely post on here- but in light of the events I decided to. Might I say sir, your taking the moral "high ground" is an attribute sorely needed but SELDOM found ib thus day and age. Let me also state- I do not feel the OP has hurt your business one iota...IF people take just a couple of minutes to READ the whole thread in it's entirety. You sir, seem to me, to be one of the GOOD GUYS!!! I applaud you and your calm, direct, very customer oriented demeanor. You have EARNED my respect and if I or ANY of my contacts in the herp community are ever in need of QUALITY geckoes...you sir will be first ob my list to send them to.

Just to let everyone know, I do not know nor have I ever done business with miamimike---but I now know that if I ever do, I will be well cared for!

Do you have proof you purchased THIS critter from Mike? A picture, you can get anywhere.

no. if you have ever been to a reptile show you know MOST vendors just hand you the animals and you hand them the cash and the deal is done. if you dont believe this animal is from him so be it. i really dont care what some people on this thread believe. all i know is that i did my part by showing people MY experience with this business

I just dont think you understand the consequences and effects of posting a bad guy thread and how that might hurt someone elses reputation.

You had to search to find the name of your vendor because YOU said you had forgotten who it was.
There are some people who might accidentally return Walmart merchandise to Macy's.

Actually most shows when leaving you have to show a reciept so people know you didnt just take it. But either way its always a good thing to grab a buisness card, or handwritten receipt with contact info on it.
