Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

To play devil's advocate I guess it is "our" litter for her in that her buck sired it...
But completely against your will and as you state, she is not entitled to any of the litter because you never agreed to do any kind of "breeding loan" etc etc!

Good luck raising up that litter, that is a very pretty coat!
 
Had I been in possession of the doe, she would have had a litter sired by the one buck I would have been given. By her having the doe I was denied a litter bred by a male that belongs to me. Also, as you said, the doe was not hers to breed to begin with.
 
We're at the lake (and exhausted) at the moment...but I will get some after we get home tomorrow :) In the meantime....here's a pic from several days ago of the litter I have from the doe I already had at home!

Oh wow, I can't wait to see, in particular, how that spotted one and the dove/blue/lilac looking ones turn out! I bet that whorling gets spectactular with patterning involved.

Do we know for sure if she bred the litter or if the female was imported pregnant to begin with?
 
Based on the date the bubs were born the doe was bred while in the US...however casey sold one of the bucks she got to elena, so the father may not even be the buck that casey kept.
 
diana...the spots make me sad....lol They will diminish the effect of the direction of the coat.....but of course I think that one is the one that is going to have the best cowlicks...lol

I've gotta admit a soft spot for spotty mice, and I kinda think it will be adorable :) Those little blue-gray kiddos, though, it's awesome, I can already see some of the coat pattern. If I were you, at some point, I'd do a daily photo shoot to see that texture progress, because that's something new and fascinating.

Wait -- she bought 2 abby bucks, but only had one and the doe, right? So it's possible the litter's sire isn't even an abby? or am I misunderstanding?
 
As I understand it, Casey originally ordered 2 aby bucks and a typey pale buck (and couple other things). The breeder of the aby's and typey line was unable to produce a typey buck to send in time, so she sent another aby buck instead (if I recall correctly it was posted before the shipment was sent that the typey buck was being replaced). So casey ended up taking 2 of the aby bucks (one she'd ordered, and one that replaced the typey buck), and my doe (instead of what should have been her 3rd aby buck). She apparently decided to "sell" the second aby buck she'd taken to elena, but he was with my aby doe for several days along with the one casey kept....so either aby buck could be the sire. If that all makes sense.....

Ah, gotcha, I wasn't aware of that third buck. That's good, at least, not wasting a litter for pups with genes you don't want. I hope the genetic diversity ends up helping you more than losing the potential for one more litter from your buck and that doe hurts.
 
I think they were all siblings anyway...so not much in the way of genetic diversity or gains/losses from any of the males...lol Also, I did not get to choose who specifically was sent to me...since casey was at the airport she picked the ones she thought were best and left me the others. Of the 2 males i was given I chose the one I thought less of to "return" to casey.

I have to agree with the bolder statement, seems like a win win for you.

Very pleased to hear that you have her back & she is doing well.
 
Sorry to bring up a very old thread....just wanted to add a note that Casey is now using the name Jamerson Johnson.
