    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Yesterday I received a price list of animals from Egypt. At first I thought it was just another one of "those", but then I noticed this person is a member of Fauna. Did anyone else here receive a business proposition from this individual? Was it a mass mailing?

I've gotten a few of them over the last couple months. I don't know if he's a scam or if he's an actual exporter.

The problem is that he is registered in Fauna. I just wanted to know if he is using the database to put together his "customers" lists. Unless I register with a site I don't like receiving unsolicited e-mails.

Yep, it is a mass mailing. He sent one to me, and I don't even deal in reptiles. Looks like he was just grabbing the database.

Dear sir

warning to all reptiles and animals dealers around the world , shaher khattab of king african rep and mahmoud massoud of african reptile center very big swindlers , they never work on reptiles business , just cheat dealers .

Those theif men does not represent all egyptian reptiles exporters those are a few wuold like to warn any one do not deals with them.

They also refused from the Egyptian exporters Reptiles Chamber

All the honest exporters put those two men in the BLACK LISTED Exporters

I as well got a unsolicited email asking if I was interested in his list I did reply and received the list.

,There was something of great interest to me on there. He did email promptly, call me when asked,answered all my questions, price quoted me. Was prompt, polite, prices were fair. Seemed okay.

I looked at the website which was the first flag, now this. Guess it might be a no go. Is there any details on why he is "black listed". Says hes been around 25-30 years. Thats a long time to not be doing business.....

I almost purchased a large quantity of reptiles from this man. I have a personal friend in Egypt who was to act as my middleman to insure I received my shipment, but after reading this I have since changed my mind. I am glad I did not send the money directly to him.
 
Thanks to gamal sabry for posting! Trading is hard enough (as the BOI shows) and international trading is even more likely to result in someone being scammed. Any cautions like this from our friends across the oceans is a great thing!
 
It's easy folks, don't send money upfront and you can deal with everyone. There is no scamming if your in control. Sometimes you don't have a choice but certain places you don't pay upfront regardless.
 
I received a shipment from him for well over 1000$ worth of turtles, tortoises a few years ago without pre-payment. Then he called a few weeks after that and asked if i wanted 3-400 ball pythons, faxed me the CITES paperwork for them in his name, asked for 1000$, said it was my turn to trust him. I had done this with Guyana, Suriname so I did it-foolishly-never heard from him again. Feel free to ask him where my 1000$ is :)! -Kerry Swan
 
Taumau- Guy did the same thing to me. I ordered $4000.00 in Egyptian reptiles. Agreement was $2000 up front and $2000 7 days after receipt. Well he sent exactly $2000 worth of animals instead of $4000 but how he arrived at $2000 was by inflating the original prices by about 3X what we agreed on. So in reality I only received about $700 in animals and after paying broker and freight I lost a lot. He assured me if I sent another $1000 the second shipment would be better and he would make up for all my losses. Stupidly I sent him another $1000.00 Of course I never heard from him again. I was young and wont make that mistake again..... One time I called him and he was eating lunch or something with friends and he put me on speaker phone and just said "sucker" and started laughing non stop.. The guy will change his company name, email address et. I think when he first started he actually had the intention of becoming a legit exporter now he is just a flat out THIEF..Egypt season opens on April 1st every year and about then this crook comes out of the woodworks and starts peddeling his scam again.. BE CAREFULL
 
This guy is so annoying! Multiple facebook accounts, mass emails...etc. I tried telling him I wasn't intersted in his WC junk but to no avail. I just delete his email/friend requests on a weekly/monthly basis.......................
