Bad Guy Kendyl Macdaniels, Pollini98 - Do not fall for his scams!

Do Not do business with Kendyl Macdaniels, Kendrick Nutall, and the aliases go on and on. His phone number is (662) 207-5016. I also have his address and chameleon forums screen name. He uses Pollini98. Bad Guy and big time scammer.

He private messaged me on the chameleon forums about an ad I had to trade a baby Nosy Be pair for an adult male Nosy Faly. He convinced me to trade. I have never been scammed and he seemed like a nice guy. Therefore, I agreed to ship the baby chams for the male Nosy Faly male. Last night at 8:45 pm, I dropped off the chameleons at the FedEx hub and called Kendyl to provide him with the tracking number. Then I asked him for my tracking number. He then seemed to mumble around with his words and my alarms were triggered. He said "uuuhhh....yeah, I'll get the tracking number in a few, I have to pick up a snake bag first." I said, "well it's almost 9pm you better hurry". He said, "No worries, I will call you with a tracking number as soon as I go to FedEx." Well, 9:30 hit and no call from him. So I called him and no answer, I called again 30 min. later and no answer. Then I googled his name and phone and was shocked.

I could post link after link on him. I am a total idiot for not googling prior to shipment.

So apparently he is moving from fish to lizards now! Instantly, I called FedEx and said return the package. I will gladly lose $41 before being scammed. FedEx fixed the issue and said they would return the animals today. However, apparently over night Kendyl called FedEx after seeing this in tracking. He lied and told FedEx he was me and told FedEx to have the animals sent to him, everything is okay. I called FedEx in the morning to confirm they were still returning my package today and found this out. However, I was still able to stop the package at the Mississippi Hub by Kendyl's house . I told FedEx to note my account and under no circumstances deliver that package to Kendyl. Then I called Debbie at reptilesexpress and she called FedEx and told them the same thing. Now my panthers are being returned tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, they have to sit in a box for over 24hrs thanks to Kendyl. However, I believe they will arrive okay. If they are dead, I will be very heated.

Thanks for that! I gave all this information to his local PD and my state attorney general. This was very helpful. I found out when calling his local PD that he has had another police report filed for the same thing.

Nope. My animals would have arrived this morning if FedEx would have shipped the animals back to sender as I requested. Unfortunately, Kendrick called FedEx around 1 or 2am and pretended to be me with the tracking number and said it was okay to have the package shipped to him. Terribly, my chameleons still made it all the way to the FedEx hub in Indianola, MS. When I called FedEx around 9pm last night my package had not even left my FedEx hub. I was so angry over this. Now FedEx has agreed to only return the package to me and they say my animals will arrive by 10:30am tomorrow. I am worried for my chameleons, but I think they can survive over 36 hours in a box. Luckily, they are packaged well. Hopefully FedEx gets it right tonight. If they do not arrive tomorrow they have almost zero chance of surviving.

You're shipping your animals to someone you don't know. Even if you get your money or another animal in return you have know way of knowing the ultimate fate of the animals you sent. By that logic, anyone who breeds and sells any animal has no regard for the well-being or care of that animal and, thus, no one should ever breed or sell anything because clearly no one can possibly care for your animals the way you do. It is not like there are entire communities focused around keeping various animals or anything.

The seller made the major mistake of not doing research on the buyer and developing a profile (a mistake they acknowledge and hopefully will not make again), but many breeders do just that. When I sell to someone, I make sure I know who this person is, how their collection is kept, how they regard their animals and anything else I can think of that is relevant to whether or not I want to sell them an animal. Can I absolutely guarantee they will care for the animal and ensure it's health so that it thrives with them as it did with me? Not completely. Does that mean I should just quit working with animals I find amazing and become some paranoid shut in who has nothing to do with anyonee in the hobby? Not really.

Everytime I get in my car and drive, I am partly relying on the general hope that people are paying attention to the road like I am. That whenever I stop at a red light the guy driving behind me is going to stop on top and not ram into the back end of my vehicle. Does this always happen? No. Sometimes you do get hit by a negligent driver, but if I was worried about that all the time, I would never leave my house and once again ... be a paranoid shut in.

I lose sleep when I ship out an animal or I am waiting for one to come in because I am worried about how they are handling their trip. If I do not hear from the person who recieves the animal I call them to make sure they are okay. When I recieve one, I call or e-mail the seller right away to let them know the animal is in good condition and all is well.

I know for certain I would be losing a lot of sleep if I were having to wait 36 hours to get back animals that almost landed with a scammer.

Point being, in order for this hobby and industry to work and not fall apart (which has been a struggle, especially lately) people have to work together, trust, communicate and do what they can to keep people who likely do not have the better interest of the animals in mind out of it. This is one point of the BOI, but you have to have the ability to problem solve, remain objective and pick through bias to see things sometimes.

If you have the mentality you just expressed, then you should not purchase or sell any animals because, if you do, it means you have no regard for their well-being or health. If you did, you would not promote the negligent habit of animals being sold to an unknown fate.

Not so, I certainly care for the well being of my animals. Kendrick seemed knowledgeable of chameleons and said he did not have any baby Nosy Be panther chameleons but had too many male Nosy Falys. I asked him where the male Nosy Faly was from and it was from a reputable peer of mine and another sponsor on the chameleon forums. I asked him how the animals were cared for. From what he told me, things were correct. Therefore, I did not question it further. From here on out I will do minor background checks on all my customers.

You're points are excellent. This is the first and last time I ever make this mistake. From here on out I will do a minor background check on all my customers. With this guy a quick google search on his phone number prior to shipment would have solved this issue instantly. I thought I had the package stopped at my local FedEx hub. I have three girly dogs that I inherited in a divorce, that were never my idea in the first place, and that she never bothered house breaking but they're mine and I would never trade one for something I would like better. I've had a nerve racking red lori for 12years that I inherited from someone else. My house would be way quieter without her but she's mine and I would never swap her for a cooler bird like a amazon grey or a mccaw. I wouldn't go as far as to take my prized Gaboon or Rhinoceros Viper with us on vacation to Cedar Point but I have someone checking on them a couple of times a day when I'm gone. It just seems like these animals are no different than baseball cards being swapped about by collectors.

Okay point taken here. However, you must understand I am a chameleon breeder and reptile superfood supplier. Also a sponsor on the chameleon forums and dendroboard.com. My profession is providing people with quality chameleons. A simple google search on my name will provide you with my excellent reputation. Sorry that is my profession and way to provide for my family. If you do not like it then you must dislike all breeders. I wasn't swapping for cooler animals or baseball cards as you put it. My clutch of Nosy Be Chameleons are now ready for placement and I have too many to just keep. Therefore, I was willing to trade babies ready for placement for a Male Nosy Faly. I was going to keep the male Faly for the rest of his life. I would never just sell or trade off animals that are here for the long haul. However, when I have a clutch of 25 babies, I am going to do my best to find them good homes. ( this one time I dropped the ball) 1 clutch of panther chams cost thousands of dollars to feed for 3 months. They took 12 months to incubate and the sire and dame took over a year to produce offspring. You do the math, this isn't a get rich quick thing as many newbs like to think. You can't say I wasn't caring. Also, you must understand that panther chameleons or F. pardalis can have a clutch every 8 - 12 months on average. The clutch will be either fertile or infertile and both are taxing on the female's body. The clutch will take on average 8 - 12 months to incubate. I would prefer to have a fertile clutch, in hopes to continue my bloodlines with holdbacks.

I would make a very horrible breeder. I would end up with baby snakes taking over my house because I would end up trying to keep them all. When it comes to animals I really don't trust people to take care of them. I'm a bleeding heart for kids and animals. If I'm driving and notice a house with a dog tied to a tree I'll find another route so I don't have to pass that house anymore. I picked up a female N. pacific rattlesnake from someone that turned out to be gravid and I'm already agonizing over what to do with the babies. Hopefully she only has a few. Even though I couldn't do it, it is nice to know there are responsible breeders out there and hopefully karma jumps up and bites all the scammers, thieves, and irresponsible owners/breeders on the rear.

You do understand that you are on a forum to focuses on selling and trading animals, right? What you are attempting to do is akin to protesting big business while buying your picket sign material at Walmart. I would have to say that the vast majority of breeders and dealers are honestly trying to do the best they can by their animals. It is the few, like the scam artist that this BOI is supposed to be focused on, that shed a dark light on this industry.

I understand your point and this time I was irresponsible. I put my animals in harms way and I made a critical error. Hopefully now a fatal error. I can never let it happen again.

Thanks, I am hoping my animals arrive today in about 30 minutes and are alive and well. Hopefully, this will help people in the industry avoid being scammed too. I have to say this scammer was good. He did his homework and knew enough about chameleons to pull one over on me. Luckily, I was able to stop them 30 mins. after dropping them off because the scammer warnings went off when I didn't get my tracking number. Unfortunately, the scammer was able to have the animals continue on their trip all the way to MS. He just called FedEx and pretended to be me. FedEx only requires your name and address and that can be found by a google search very easily.
