In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Josh of OUTBACK REPTILES

I have the number, but much like the many first attempts i tried to make i got nothing back.. I even spoke to someone who works for them on another fourm site and he assured me he would deliver the message and still nothing. Its like little kid crap....

Can you copy and paste that communication?

Amanda is my girlfriend who helps me sell my snakes so we made an email addy with both our names. Thank you FireStorm, i am unable to post because i was refering to phone calls i made. One of my attempts to email are on that first convo i posted. This is the other

Hey man, 7 days since we last spoke. whats up?

So which of you lied to Josh about the snake being in with one of your males when it was discovered that he was a male? You said here that he was somewhere else.

Greetings all,

This too confuses me. Before you had said the animal was sent off to a friend's collection that had 25 yrs experience. Can you elaborate a bit more on the exact sequence of events here?

My personal experience with Josh has been fantastic. I've received various animals from him and they have all been as pictured, and wonderful additions to my collection. I've gotten rainbow boas, a smokin' dumeril boa pair and my first Calabar boa from him as well as one of their CH babies.

I would like to hear again, more details about the events that happened in a more detailed fashion.

Kindest regards,

Amanda Rose

the animal was sent off to a friend's collection that had 25 yrs experience.

After trying for 2 weeks or so i thought it might be my male ( he is a lil picky) so i gave her to my friend who has been breeding for 25 years

I would like to hear from the buyer as well, but could he mean, above, that he tried to breed the snake for 2 weeks prior to sending it off?

Lucille, it sounds like he had it for a bit, tried to breed it for two weeks, and then sent it to someone else who tried to breed it for 2 weeks.

Paul, is the picture you posted of one snake? It looks like the head of one and the tail of another, though it could be one. Do you have whole body shots?

I interpreted it that the buyer got the snake and fed it up for 5 weeks, then tried breeding it himself for two weeks (that's 7 weeks total from the date of purchase) then he sent it to someone else and they had it for 2 more weeks before noticing it was a male. So, if I read right it was 9 weeks after the purchase that the sexing mistake was noticed. There does seem to be some inconsistencies though, since in the initial post the OP stated that the guy he sent the snake to was the one who noticed that it was a male, but in his emails to Josh he says differently.

I can see where this makes things difficult for the seller (assuming I read right) because it was 9 weeks before the error was discovered and it was discovered after being in two different collections.

No one lied, that pic is of 2 males the darker one with the penis out is the snake in question. In my email i said i got a cell text that had a pic of it being a male sent to me. Yes i tried for 2 weeks or so to breed it and nothing before bringing it to my friend who discovered the problem.

Some drama people on here, its simple. I payed for a female got a male and i want a refund. Its not perry mason / agatha christie mysteries.... Again Lucille thank you for being level headed and objective.

If that was all I got in the pic, I would ask for more. 3 inches of a snake is not enough for me to tell if it is a snake I sold. If I saw that head with that tail, I would seriously question it being the same snake. Have you positively IDed the animal as the one you sent your friend, and confirmed to Josh that it was the same snake? I understand that none of the these things changes the fact that Josh sold you the wrong sex snake. If he did, he needs to fix it.

However, you should have sexed it upon arrival, or had someone else do it. If not immediately, it should have been done at least in the nearly two months that it was in your care. Not being interested in your male could have been a sign of a few different things; a couple being that it was a male and another being that it was ill or not in breeding condition. Either way, it should have been checked before being sent out on loan. Your friend was nice to "check" to see if the snake would be receptive to another male, but should have sexed it, and probably quarantined it from his collection.

endrin said:
he was in with one of my males and his hemi penis came out."

I see what you did there. You didn't lie. He was with one of your males, and the hemipenis did come out. What you omitted though was everything that happened between those. Your sentence makes it sound like you put him with a male and out popped the baby maker. I am sure that is how it was read by Josh too.

I don't know why Josh hasn't contacted you since saying he would see what they could do. He may have decided that there was nothing that he could do for you, but should have told you that.

I was just informed i will be getting a call from Josh and or Ian tomorrow, with any luck this needless situation will be resolved. I never had a problem with miss sexed adults ever so i never checked. I will from now on tho. Mistakes happen i understand that but communication and doing the right thing is what keeps things like this from happening. This is the LAST thing i want to do or have to deal with. I hate drama...

Good luck! I hope Josh makes this right and this turns into a good reflection on him, the time lapse of him not contacting you back kind of sucks and I wish he had responded to this thread as well. But hopefully everything will turn out for the best.

In my opinion the lack of communication from Josh warrants a thread all on its own. If he had an issue with it being in 2 different collections or didnt believe that it was the same snake he had sold, then he should have said so. Ending communication and blowing someone off is unprofessional. Ive purchased from josh in the past and had a good transaction experience but nothing ever went wrong. How you handle problems really shows alot about your business practices and I hope he makes it right and keeps a good name.

I also recently purchased two snakes from Josh. While the snakes were packaged professionally and arrived healthy, Josh did not inform me which day he was going to ship out the snakes. I had an emergency dentist appointment and FedEx arrived while I was out. Unfortunately, Josh required a signature for the package. I can understand doing that from a liability point of view, but I have a shaded front stoop and the weather was cool enough that the snakes would have been fine at the front door. Instead, I had to call FedEx and essentially beg the staff to contact the driver to come back to the house, otherwise I would have to wait until 6PM to pick the snakes up at the main office after them being in the back of a hot truck all day. As it was, the driver did not arrive until 4:30. This could have easily been avoided with an email with nothing more than a FedEx tracking number. While I was happy with the snakes, I was quite unhappy with the poor communication, lack of a tracking number, and the stress of worrying about losing a pair of animals to heat stroke.

As an addendum, I was very surprised at the lack of communication from someone (Josh) who otherwise has a decent reputation. I did not post my experience to the BOI because I was willing to give Josh the benefit of a doubt. Hey, we all slip sometimes and there was no harm because the snakes were properly packaged, but I personally was very worried at the time. I would have stayed silent had this thread about communication difficulties with another buyer not been created.

I wonder if Josh is having personal issues that is distracting him enough to cause forgetfulness or the inability to respond quickly to buyers? Contacting him via email (my preferred method) was very slow. I am willing to give Josh the benefit of a doubt and would buy from him again, but he's on my yellow alert list for now because of the poor communication with me. In my little reptile world, it's only two strikes and you're out.

I see a few problems here one I don't care who you get an animal from there's a few things you do off the jump after you get them... 1 give the animal a thorough look over from head to tail really inspect the animal, 2 SEX the animal to ensure you got what you wanted which it seems you failed to do when you originally got the animal It wasn't until after 2 weeks had went by and after the animal was in a different persons care that the problem came to light. Most people/breeder's/hobbyist's/company's offer a standard 7 day policy and ANYONE will tell you sex an animal when you get it it doesn't matter WHO it come's from period. Personally I can see why Josh doesn't and or hasn't replied to your emails and or call's it was after a certain period of time and even more important the animal was in SOMEONE else's care when the so called problem was noticed.... For all we know the person you sent the animal off with could be or is trying to pull a fast one we don't know I'm by no means saying the third party involved is but there's always that reason of doubt that, that could be the case.
