No it's never been a problem.

I want to take my snakes outside to, but I worry about the mites.

Theres always a risk of them getting bugs or parasites outside, so when you bring them in check them thoroughly first.

I live in town so I believe the chance of any of my snakes getting mites form a short tip outside to craw in the grass is slim to none. I put more effort into stopping mites come home from a stop in to the local pet stores then coming in from outside. If I lived out in the country I would be concerned about ticks. Now back when I was going to the reptile shows every month I did use P.A.M. (Provent-a-Mite) every time I clean as a preventive. I would also spay my show equipment cause you never now about the people who step up to your table.

Yes you could. Read the label on the mite spray you use to make sure it's ok to spray directly onto the snake.
