• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I hope this doesn't turn into drama

On June 13th, I shipped an animal to a guy. It arrived the morning of the 14th. He emailed me back on the 16th saying that the animal arrived safe and sound.

Today, July 24th, he emails me saying that the animal has a sore on it's neck and he wants to know if it had that when I sent it. I replied asking if it could be something related to how he is hosuing it and that it was perfectly healthy when it left here and I still have photos of him while he was here. This animal had no sores while here or when he left here.

I really hope this doesn't turn into some drama but an email over a month after delivery out of the blue asking if I sent an animal with a sore is very unsettling.

Not what I want to deal with and what the heck happened to the snake in the past month?
 
I'm with you, if the guy has to ask you how his snake looked last month, something is definitely amiss with how he keeps his critters.
I feel sorry for the snake because of the sore, and sorry for you that all of a sudden this weirdness emerges out of nowhere.

Exactly. What happened in the past month?
I am now wondering how he keeps his animals. I don't like hearing that an animal I sold now has a problem.
I am thinking it might be a blister due to the humidity being too high but without knowing the setup or seeing the sore, it's all speculation on what could be the cause.
 
jeeze... yeah. This brings up a good point to make too... take photos of the animal before you pack it, with a newspaper dated for that day, with the animal clearly in it and visible and all that jazz.

I hope the snake is ok... I hope they fix whatever might be up. Regardless, they should probably bring it to a vet.

That looks like either a rodent bite, or some other type of wound, not really looking like just a sore. That was definitely not more than a week or two old wound as well. Looks like poor husbandry on the buyers part. I would say you are in the clear for sure here Steve. I wouldn't sell or buy from the guy who you sold to though.
 
Holy crap! That is the poor animal. WTF! Here is what that snake looked like when he was here.

awww that poor snake!
Looks like a rat bite, it's in the correct area for one as well. (seen it before from when I used to feed live big rats a long, long time ago)
 
Why feed live?
This snake took f/t with no problem.
Really ticks me off that he allowed this snake to be injured like that.

:iagree:How can someone not be sure if the snake had a sore like that when he got it...it would be impossible to miss.

Just want to clarify since his post on KS makes it sound like I shipped him the hog in that condition and I didn't. That snake got that injury while in his care. He was perfectly fine when he left here over a month ago.

screenshot of the post from over on KS with the photo - just in case user tries to delete the photo. It's very clear that is a fresh wound, so it's additional good back up for you in case he tried to claim the animal was injured when it arrived.

Anyone with more than an ounce of living brain tissue will be able to tell exactly what happened. How old is your customer? Looks to me that it's a kid who thought it would be "cool" to watch the boa kill a rat.
