In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have babies!

Well actually I don't have babies here. But the clutch from my first breeding loan have hatched and I'm all happy and excited.

I did a breeding loan with Aubrey Ross of Slipstream Serpents. We bred my Jormungandr to her Glockenspiel (nice match on names alone lol).

If anyone remembers, I posted about Jormungandr a while back; curious as to his morph. Looks like a Newport without the white stripe (yet a couple hints were a stripe should be). Anyway apparently he is a mosaic. I'm still curious if it is it's own line of mosaic.

Glockenspiel looks like a black and white Cali king with a Newport pattern. Only her stripe is broken and she only has the broken stripe on the upper part of her body. I think she came from a Mosaic clutch. She had a black and white sister that looked like Jormungandr.

Anyway, this past May, Glockenspiel laid 6 big eggs and on July 27 those eggs started to hatch. Five boys and one girl. It's a 50/50 split of babies with Glockenspiel's and Jormungandr's patter. One baby has a crazier pattern than the others. Though he still has the dot/dash stripe so I've lumped him with the other dot/dash babies.

This nice split is what made me think maybe Jormungandr's pattern isn't just a random mosaic pattern but a line of it's own?

I'm not posting the pictures because they do not belong to me. However you can see Jormungandr in one of the albums on my profile and Glockenspiel along with all the babies on Aubrey's website.

Any kingsnake guru like to weigh in with their thoughts?

P.s.
I've also heard of snake like Jormungandr called "Tire Track" and "Chocolate Top" (or Chocolate Back). However I can't find examples of them. Which is weird since it seems it can be reproduced.

Yeah definitely some interesting ones there, I have a couple that look like some of those. I got a pair of cals from Slipstream back in 2009 that will finally be ready to breed next season. Can't wait to see what they produce.

I'll have to post some pictures of my keeper once she is a little more settled. She didn't want to eat the week before last. So this past Monday I brained a pinkie and she ate it right away. But still don't want to freak her out with a camera flash until she has another meal.

What kind of kings did you get? I like all her kings. But I really like the patternless ones.

Freya, upon arrival a few weeks ago. Aubrey told me all the babies have a yellow tint like Jormungandr but it doesn't show up in her pictures. Camera flash does wash the color out. This picture is without flash.

Hey Ashley, Freya is beautiful!
There were some nice results from the breeding of Jorm and Glockenspiel.
Makes things very promising for Jorm & Daytona.:)

I really really want to see what kind of babies they will make. I was so happy to find a someone with a female with that look.

Since it seems to be co-dom, I don't understand why there aren't more. Maybe we are just weird and everyone else thinks it's a boring look lol?

The male that I got from Slipstream has this vanishing stripe look. They were my clean up crew for when other snakes refused food so they actually ended up a little overweight. Hoping they slim down enough to breed good next year.

Since both Jorm & Daytona are "black/chocolate tops" (or "tire tracks", or whatever other name LoL), plus are coastal phase, I do believe we should get most all (if not all) coastal phase "Black/Chocolate Tops". It will be exciting to see what we get.
As with you, I was so happy to find someone with a male of the same type/morph!
Also surprised at how difficult it is to find them.
I absolutely love this type/morph and, yep, could be that we are just weird. ;)

If so, I'm weird too, I think they are stunning!

Cool! Another member added to the weirdness club.:)

Here are some pics that I took (with flash) of my girl, Daytona, back in Feb. of this year.
As already mentioned, she is to be paired with Jorm.

This year my snake and Daytona finally bred and 11 eggs were laid. On May 24th the eggs started to hatch!

So, this time around we have 4 males and 7 females. They are 1 mosaic, 3 stripes, and 7 tiretrack (aka chocolate top). One of the tiretrack girls is a black belly to boot! We also have some pretty picky eaters in this batch. I have my fingers crossed that everyone will get to eating consistently.

They are all still in Ohio. I have pictures that Deb sent me. But again, since they do not belong to me I will not be posting them.
