I must have missed a page then I didn't see where he pulled a count/weight. I read where he said I have talked to nurmous people who sell roaches and the weight doesn't add up.
Your right Chris it would not matter if the count/weight was pulled at the same time, but if the count/weight was pulled then 3 days without food water the count would be the same but the weight would be much less.
It's a tuff call I've seen big differences in people's count and that's why I stick with the same suppliers. I have gotten orders of 4000 small and said dam that's it, then pull a 200 count/weight x 20 and say ok it's right. Then get another order of 4000 from another supplier and say now that's some bugs. Pull the same count/weight and find out they are nicely 30%+ over counted. Gota love the suppliers that over count consistently! That's who get my $$.

yes i have fed them but i am not going to sit here and count all these little roaches but right off the looks off it it's not 2000 roaches and by the weight it's not 2000 roaches

So you fed your dragons first....? So I weighed them in a container like that. the bugs and the container almost weigh 80 grams which is what I said the container weighed on facebook. Anyone else think i am wrong here? Why would u feed your dragons then take a picture and confront me. if i told you to send them back I wouldnt have gotten all of them

Anyway last time you felt you only got 500-600 tops it was obviously closer to 1000. Now you are claiming the same thing again but I can say that according to your own proof you definitely got over 750.

Now I believe you got way more in your first order than you showed. I also believe you only weighed "half" ( I say it like that because you are terrible at eyeballing counts) and left the other half out.

My advice to you is to not do any local business because you will eventually scam the wrong person and they will be close enough to find you.

As for Max. You have been more than fair. You have handled this situation in a very professional way and have nothing to be ashamed of. As I said in my pm last night if I ever needed roaches you would be the one I go to. Good luck in your endeavour and don't let this fool get you down.

Ok I have to chime in now this is a crazy thread over $100 of bugs. I spend $300-$400 on dubia a month and have purchased from a dozen or more people here and also have 2 full large up and producing colonies to feed my hatchlings.
I have to say this when ever I get a batch from somebody new first thing I do is feed and hydrate with an orange or watermelon because 2-3 days no food, they are dehydrated and empty, a batch of 1000 med could easily gain 60-80 grams in weight over night, same goes for smalls 1000 smalls can easily gain 8-15 grams no problem.
Ive taken many counts and weights before and after hydrating from a dozen suppliers last year and I finally pick out my 2 main suppliers. Nowhere in this thread did anybody mention to feed and hydrate bugs before weighing. 1000 1/4" and under can be in-between 30-50g just depends on average size and if they are full of food and hydrated or not! More than likely the bugs were weighed by the supplier when full and hydrated 2-3 days transit = short in weight till fed and hydrated. This is just my experience in dealing with dubia

actually someone did whom was max,checking the dubia for the heck of it daily they weigh the same even after being weighted

lol i lied about what i got?o please it's only a few dollars i contacted max and a few others as as soon as i got my order to be sure of the issue that arrived with my order one of them being chris allen him self as i thought he would know a tad more than me on the issue,not to mention i did business with him before with no issues,am i right max did i ever complain about my first order other than a few dead roaches?

i did what everyone said i weighted the roaches and i posted the weight on both orders,and the weight don't lie,nor did i tamper with the order nor feed any of my roaches off when i got the order as i had my own batch from someone locally which i can also prove that i had a order from before

you know what my batch means?or are you incompetent of understanding that phrase? it means i had my own batch of dubia roaches which i purchased before the order with max which i pulled out to feed my dragon from,max asked me if i fed any of his dubia off then weighted them,i replied no and told him i fed my dragon from my batch

and i believe in my earlier post i even said i had enough roaches to last me until friday or so, which is why i did the 20 dollar extra for shipping as you can glady go back and see that,i didn't need to feed off any of max roaches until the weekend or my final feeding

good for your brother.lol it's funny tho how this community works i did what was asked and the weights on each don't check out yet i am the bad guy who tried to scam max haha,must be aprils fools or something.

anyway i am done responding here at the end of the day he won't be getting any of my money and hope you feel better ripping off my friend who just got his first dragon whom paid for half of those roaches,good thing he didn't order for you as he would never check or weigh them like i did.

That's it, then? Almando, you have complained about three orders from Max now, although IMHO you've not definitively proven your case (to me, you needed to count them...Max did). You have mentioned you'll go with other suppliers. Max, you sent an additional order to try to please an unsatisfied customer. You've done well here, and probably gained some business.

I ordered 18 grams recently, and the average count for the size was about 220 i think. When I dumped them out of the bag, it looked like at least 500 to me. At other times, I could pick up a single egg flat from the container, flip it over and think "that doesnt look like more than 30 or 40" and then dump it out and count them out to feed and it will turn out Im looking a over 100 nymphs.
Back when I used to order crickets, if i purchased a thousand large I would think "now thats alot of crickets" but when i would order smaller ones I would feel ripped off, even with a 20% over count, just by looking at them. So 1,200 small crickets didnt seem like much.

Its unfortunate that you got mixed sizes, because its easier to weigh an average count of a consistent size.
The problem with this situation is that the OP didnt count them, and appearantly doesnt even know how to tare out weight on a scale. Its a moot point, now that the dealer has offered to send another thousand...but really, he should have counted them.

If you are talking about 1/4 inch or so nymphs, then 50 grams is well over a thousand, so 53-56 grams is probably about right.

At this point in the thread, it seems like you are maybe confused or lying. You said 80 grams, minus the weight of the cup is 56 grams somehow to you....
Now you are saying it weighed 24 grams after the cup....


You see that big huge button that says "tare" on the scale? You should put the cup on first, and then press that button....you will see the scale go to zero. At that point, you take the same cup and fill it with the roaches. Thats how you weigh something in a container.

SO at first it was 80, 80 minus 32 is 48, 48 grams of 1/4 inch roaches is 1000. You said at first with the cup his replacements weighed 80 grams. That means you got the 1000 roaches he told you he would send.

I think you owe the man an apology.

im pretty sure the 32oz solo deli cups only weigh 16 grams (if that was the container used)

as for max he seems like a good guy and tried to fix the problem between you guys
Im about to buy from max and not for a second do I think I will have a problem with the order

actually the deli cup weighed 32 grams on it's own i provided pics of that weight of the deli cup by it's own already on the first page


all the weights i provided have been posted with the dubia order in them so you have to must 32 grams from each weight.
