In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BallBids.com?

While I have always supposed that they were killing the auctions themselves if it didn't look like the bidding was coming at a rate that would ensure a nice profit, I can't help but wonder if the autobidder is overloading them. That would cause a lot of hits from a single IP, as it tries to post rapid fire bids in a repeating cycle. (At least that makes sense to my tech challenged mind)

Seems to me that technology would be, at the minimum, able to handle the last second bids.

Seems like NOT anticipating a high user load in the last few seconds would be a rather stupid thing to do. In fact, it would be very stupid. Now who here in this thread has repeatedly been very stupid?

Still though, I would think that this easily seen problem would be one that was well taken care of with the software that runs the auction.

Crud. You just said something that makes sense and that readers can identify with.
That means Mark will be back to initiate another five pages of him calling everyone names and generally being a horse's behind so that he can bury what you just said.

Oh no! Please no more of his drivel! I can't take it.

Hey, I know! I'll just quote myself! LMAO

I copied this from their facebook page. It was written by Ballbids :

"Most people tend to get discouraged and leave. The FEW that stay usually win a good amount. If more people would just stay we would be able to put more auctions up with more winners."

Now go back and read that again slowly. If that doesn't tell you the real story, I don't know what does. Looks like they don't have enough suckers…errrr, customers and they are losing them fast. It won't be too much longer now.

Yup, that's why it would be funny, if it turned out that way (my initial attempt at that post was Wouldn't it be funny if, as opposed to I can't help but wonder...my phone ate it, and I had to start over).

I would certainly hope that they'd prepared for that, and made sure their server could handle it...but I guess that brings me be back to them shutting down "When auctions don't go well" (reference the last screenshotted post by ballbids)

Yeah, I said about 50 pages ago that penny auction sites were like a pyramid marketing scheme and I got blasted by Mark.

I think they are in a Catch-22 because they tried to get rich without investing enough $. One auction at a time is not enough to generate/keep interest, but they can't afford to run more than one. Beezid runs them every 5 minutes, sometimes more often, so that auctions overlap and people have more hope of winning.

Is there any way to repost the screenshots from posts #1162,1168, and 1365 all in a row?

It'd be very simple to do. And it'd probably be a good idea to reiterate the pertinent points that get buried. We haven't quite made it to 1365 posts, so what's the third one you wanted?

Okay, so this didn't work so well, but bear with me. At one point they said:
We look forward to implementing this security measure...we will immediately know who is doing it as well.

Then, tonight, they said:
We tried to do the auction without implementing any of the changes.
But they ALSO said:
We did catch the people responsible for the attack last time...

Huh?

Oh, and "want to ensure that you all have fun and save huge" is impossible. Remember the pyramid marketing thing...without people losing, the business goes broke.

so how many people were bidding tonight?

Because if they are not manually stopping the time and if they are not getting attacked only when the prices are too low, then Harald is right. Their servers can't take it. Their servers can't take how many bidders? Imagine if there were two auctions going on. Forget the freeze. Probably end up shutting down a whole city block with their 10 bidders or what not.

Yeah, there's been a lot of double speak from the beginning. We know who is doing it, we will find out who is doing it, it's an attack, we can block the attacks, more attacks, , we know how to fix it, we didn't fix it, our servers can handle it, if our servers are overloaded....

I'm not tech savvy, and I know nothing about penny auctions - what happens if multiple people make the same bid? (Other than the price going up)
Is that allowed, and charged? I guess what I'm trying to figure out is a combination of just how profitable this is. I know there can only be one winner, I'm just fuzzy on the process that takes place before the bidding slows and somebody wins.
How many bidders are typically involved in their auctions?

Do you know what is really ironic?

The fact that they make statements "like normal we will return all bids". Now that makes me laugh.

And this statement is ironic as well:

" Nobody has lost anything by playing with us but people have won huge and saved more than anywhere else can offer. "

Yeah - actually those who bid and didn't win the snake lose something - their money that they paid for bids.

If you guys wouldn't leave ***sniffle***, I could make more bank off of "fools and their money are soon parted" mentality....***sniffle***. But so many of you have wisened up and don't play any more...***sniffle***...it's just not FAIR!!!

Who in their right minds participates in ANYTHING and does expect to win? What's all of this stupid talk about strategy in an auction? The only strategy to win any auction I have been in is to be willing to spend more money than anyone else. Is there special ways to hold your mouse and click the bid button that help you win a penny scam.... uh I mean penny auction? What is all of this nonsense they are spewing?

Okay Mark let me try again to help you understand something

Mark, you are going to blow a gasket. Take a deep breath ... let it out ... now answer a few questions please.

These are simple yes & no questions, requiring no more than a yes or no.

Do you have proof your site (ballbids) was hacked?
Is this proof supplied by marty?
Are you heavily invested in ballbids?
Are you the true owner of ballbids? (Which would explain a lot)

I will wager you will be unable to answer these questions with simple yes & nos.

It is suspicious that you are the only one posting on behalf of ballbids, here and elsewhere on the web. Just you.

Furthermore, name calling is childish and unbecoming for an adult.

Yes Yes No No

Please note the question and the answer that are in bold font. You claim you are not the owner of ballbs.

Please....keep up with your guessing. And who is dishonest here? The guy trying to run a good quality business for all the right intentions or the ones lying about that business to try to tear it down? Get real and keep with the facts here

Now here in italics you talk about a guy trying to tun an honest business and a guy trying to tear that business down with lies.

KORBIN5895;1516252[I said:
]Mark your last comment about a man trying to run a good honest business must be about Rich(as he owns his business) and the man lying about said business and trying to tear it down must be you( since you do not own any of the businesses being discussed here[/I]).

How the heck am I guessing when I made a very plain and easily understood statement? I also understand the facts. I would love to actually see your "facts" though. Please post them here as we all know you have permission.

Also please answer my quetion. Who are your suppliers and do they know that their animals are on your scam...I mean site?

In my italicized words I was just pointing out how you have to be the one lying because like you said there are only two people the business owner and the liar( remember the words in bold) So why are you so hostile? It's your own words and logic that got us you in this bind.

Please answer my underlined question.

Pound salt man...are you nuts? Go open you own business and send me all the information

No. I am not nuts. Why?
