    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, I figured out why they quit eating last week...

I guess they've had other things on their minds.

These are the first ball pythons I've bred in 20 years. Marilyn is a pastel yb, Darth is one of those snakes that no one can quite figure out exactly what he is. I'm waiting for something in the clutch that might resemble it's base morph a little more than dad so I can figure that out, or find out if Darthie is something different.

Mine will eat for most of the breeding season thankfully, I cringe when they go off feed early in the season.

Congrats on the lock, Darth looks a little bit like a trick?

A little bit, but not nearly the whole thing. Trying to figure out what Darth might be is like trying to figure out what went into the parentage of a Heinz 57 type mutt dog. He's got 1 or 2 characteristics of a half dozen morphs and the so-called het pied markers to boot. To me he kinda looks like het-red in some things and black pastel in others and leopard in places and his color isn't right for any of them. He has sort of a greenish tint in some areas from the yellow pigment underlying the dark. Until you get to the so called het pied markings his belly is one long line of perfectly centered black dots.

Yeahhhh, from those look's it's really hard telling lol. I'd say no way Leopard or BP. I also don't think Trick now that I see these pictures and I haven't actually worked with Het Red's but he doesn't have the neck spots like I'm used to seeing.

Very weird. Maybe he's something new, maybe he's just a normal. Hopefully this pairing will be able to tell you a bit more.

Good luck again, please keep us updated!

Score!!!...Literally ;). Congrats on another good looking lock, it looks like you will be seeing yourself a few more Pieds this season!

Ok guess i ahould try too even though this california heat is insane right now. But this thread has got me super excited to prove out my vanilla mojo poss het pied w my male pied poss leopard pied

I have never tried breeding balls before now. In the beginning of September I put my male pastel in with a normal and on September 3rd I witnessed my first lock. They were locked for 6-8 hours. I pulled him and couple days later out him with another female and they locked.. I put him back with the first female and they locked 2 more times.. she just shed last Sunday, but unsure if it is a pre lay shed.

If you just started pairing at the beginning of sept. It is not her pre lay shed you still have awhile before eggs just keep pairing and you should see eggs between the end of april- june julyish

Yup that long if you want an idea of the exact process google markus jayne breeding and hea got a sweet lil timeline of breeding balls. Now mind you nothing is exact in nature
