• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and have a few questions inquiring the site listed above.

So I recently purchased something from ReptileCity.com and seen some pretty good deals. So I read a few things here and there and then I decided to go through with purchasing an animal from there site; and I did. So now it's about day 1 and a half - 2 and still no information. I'm not sure if this is Reptilecity's nature to not send information or any type of email inquiring my purchase or what? I have not sent an email yet because I believe that it's on their own behalf as a business for them to inform me and not vice versa, but I will if no further notices from them. I used a Greendot card (not sure if anyone here is familiar with them) to purchase my animal (snake, ball python to be exact) so I have no access to my statements because I just blew through the sign up and forgot all my info. So unsure if they took out my money or not. But I don't see what the problem would be anyways seeing that I had/have enough money on the card.

But like I said no email, no confirmation, order #, nothing noda and I didn't create an account (checked out as a guest) But do they do this normally? and through all of this do you ever receive your package? Thank you everyone.

Johnathan,

Your payment declined therefore nothing will be shipped to you.

Thanks,
Felton Willis

He owns Reptile City. I wouldnt order anything from them if I were you. It will be sent dropship style, not from Reptile City or Mr. WIllis himself, but from someone else which in itself isn't inherently badd though frowned upon in the industry. It will take several days for your order to process, probably because they have to find a dealer with the animals in stock. Then your animal will be shipped via USPS and it will take about three days. I ordered frogs from them, and they shipped on a Friday for Monday delivery, which is idiodic in itself. Mr. WIllis sent me a message that Friday saying my animals were scheduled for delivery on Monday, I had no idea they had already shipped that day. The following Monday, my frogs arrived much to my surprise. I went into my email to contact Mr. WIllis only to find an email sent from him that morning with my tracking number and a statement that he highly suggested I pick the parcel up from my shipper. One of the frogs arrived DOA, more than likely due to being in a shipper for four days, spending Saturday night, and all of Sunday and Sunday night sitting in my local post office.
He had a replacement animal sent out and it was fine, but it was shipped via USPS as well, though earlier in the week so it arrived sooner, though i did not receive my tracking number until very near the time it arrived so I still would have had no way to pick it up at the post office. Replacing the animal does not change how Reptile CIty operates, how they ship their animals or the fact that they are liars.
Mr. WIllis claims to have a large facility in Texas, but the address listed only shows an empty field on a country road somewhere. His Florida address is for a residence, probably his own. It was rather clear that the animals were drop shipped, or they would have processed the order much quicker.
I have posted the details of this transaction and all relevant information on another thread about Reptile City. Do not order from Reptile City or Haha Reptiles, they are simply no good at all. A simple Google search will yield a fair number of horror stories about this company.
It is clear to me that Mr. WIllis cares very little for the welfare of the animals that he middle mans out to people.

The majority of prepaid credit cards are not accepted for online purchases, you have to read the fine print before you buy one. Second, going through the time and effort to create an account here and post in the BOI instead of contacting them? I'll second Adam's question.
