In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Reptidoc Dr. Darryl G. Walker

Gee, flaming defense. What encouragement to post. Fine, flame away, what I'm not going to read isn't going to bug me the slightest.

I have 4 snakes (2 freebies, I was so thrilled) of Doc's and one he insisted he needed back, which I sent him. Of the 5 snakes, the one he wanted back was the only "good" feeder, despite his assurances that the "correct" snake (he sent a male instead of a female; how long has he been sexing snakes? longer than I, I hope) was "eating like a pig". His definition of *that* must be very, *very* different than mine.

I have had to force-feed all 4 hatchlings every week since I got them the last week of August and mid-Sept, respectively. I'm down to baby food and syringe; they're too weak to tease, and stuffing thawed pinkies down their throats is pointless and hard as hell, since their mouths and throats are *so* tiny.

Last week, one of the freebies died, despite my having had stuffed at least one whole pinkie, piecemeal, down its throat. That's when I got out the baby food. The Fire Motley is so tiny and listless, it's like he's on death row -- I check him several times a day, waiting for him to be dead.

I once, and only once, managed to get the Peppermint to *take* a pinkie after I stuffed half of one down her throat. Yet, the one I sent back to Doc was wolfing them down like there's no tomorrow.

I *have* talked to Doc, but I'm inexperienced and should tease them -- yet they're too listless to strike, they just run, or don't even bother. I have a Sunglow Motley from a different source, she teases like a dream, so I can't be doing it all that wrong. I nearly cried when the one died, but, I'm just inexperienced. My how experience comes quick when they refuse to eat at all.

I have my records on iHerp. Oh, but I can put whatever I want there, right? Can't prove squat to you flamers and abusers. But why would I lie? I like the guy, he's a nice fella, gives lots of good advice, was kind enough to give me 2 hatchlings. And now I'm so depressed that I'm a failure I'm about to give up corn snakes....

THIS IS **MY** EXPERIENCE, exactly as I have described. Don't like it? Get your own experience.

Cara? What made you think you would be flamed?? You have nothing to be flamed for! You are only speaking the truth about the snakes you recieved. As Nanci and thers said, you did Nothing wrong... except buy from Doc. I have been in your shoes and beleive me, it took me A LOT to come here and make a thread about it. I am glad that I did tho because it really seemed to bring the bad to the top so that we as a community could come together and say Stop!

As for your last line? I did get my own... last year and its all typed up in a BOI thread.

Dont give up! Its not you! *hugs* keep going. You are fine!

Cara I am very sorry this has happened to you. It looks like deja vu on the bad side has started up again. And the typical narcissistic way all the blame is pointed at the buyer. Last time the "I didn't know to feed them" lifeline was thrown to him, what will it be this time?

Cara, for what it is worth, I believe you. I really really do. This is NOT your fault at all. There is something terribly wrong, both in Walker's collection and in Walker's mind and you are not to blame for any of it.

And for anyone who read this whole thread....I have apologized and made my peace with Josh (Reptileman81). We met in real life, sat together at the 2011 Corn Snake Supper Club dinner and get along fairly well. He actually is a nice person!

And I am BEYOND angry that this happened to him, and several other of my friends.

... thank you all so much for the support. I mean it very much. Yes, as I read through the beginnings of the thread, I thought, wow, what controversy and argument. I didn't much pay attention to the signatures or dates, my bad, I just read.

What I understand the least, the *very* least, is the male Peppermint sent by accident. In hindsight... no, don't even think it Cara, I couldn't have been so dishonest as to have kept him.

That male Peppermint was the *definition* of a "good feeder". He took his weekly pinkie all on his own every week within minutes of me putting it down (even unrinsed frozen thawed), and the once I gave him a second one, took it, too. Had him 8 weeks, he looked like a little sausage; I was going to have to ease off feeding him some till he grew a bit & caught up. And he was a little sweetheart for handling, just a little dear. I was very sad to send her (him) back. His sister of course is nothing like him... oh well.

I'll go "hit" the feeding pages again, but I'm at the end of Mr. Soderberg's and Ms. Love's books about keeping bad feeders going. You know, the parts about using either cat food or baby food and a syringe? All of these guys are terrified of live pinkies, even fresh killed... what am I saying? They're terrified of everything. I have some NutriBact and feeding supplies coming in from Ms. Love's website -- they were there, I ordered them.

The baby food (turkey) seems to be sufficiently good protein to keep them going, and it's easier than trying to stuff heads down tiny mouths without breaking jaws... I know I need to keep trying, but I thought to give it a break till they grew enough to shed, to save some teeth as well as the jaw.

I have thought about sending Fire and the Amel het fire back to Doc, to ask him to re-train, but... I have a bad feeling about doing that. I can't even explain what the bad feeling is about, it's just not a good feeling. Maybe it's just that they're so weak, they may not make the trip.. I don't know. I'm just not into that.

Any thoughts for getting them to eat, maybe PM me? Thankx in advance.

Took me 2 days to read this whole thread. wow. I would never buy from reptidoc. I don't care how long he has been in the business. truly sorry for those who were screwed. he won't even man up and offer an explanation. I saw less than 10 posts from him in the whole thread.

Where is all this coming from? Until right now, I havent been on this site since last February and havent sold anything here since Summer 2011. I see complaints on here from One to Two years ago that were already addressed.

I Sold out Over half my Breeding Colony this winter (2012) so I would not be overwhelmed with too many babies. I sterilized everything in my snake room just to be on the safe side.
I have had No Problems with any of my babies this year at all because I now have a managable number to care for. I raise my own food so supply is not an issue.

I have had nobody contact me this season with any problems or issues with anything that has gone out the door this year either. They would have no reason too. I thought all this stuff was past tense.

I also dont remember selling anything to the most recent people who chimed in on this thread. The names do not sound or look familiar to me.

I have received No Emails from anyone this year about any problems with any snakes I sold them. I dont know what else to say. I dont have the energy to march backwards.

Hey Doc,

I think ryoverde has a question and "this stuff" does not look "past tense".

Not for much longer -- the 2nd Amel died Friday. :-( Fire Motley male & Peppermint female still alive, but I'm not sure how much longer that Fire's going to hang on with his teeny weight. Hard to believe he hasn't just hatched...

I'm so sorry, Cara. Please be very careful to maintain strict isolation of the Doc snakes from the rest of your collection.

I know someone who had the same issue with the doc. Siclky underweight snakes that died within a month of purchase. When the doc was contacted about the situation he basically told this person that he did not know how to take care of the snakes, but did not offer any tops of replacement. Even though the person spent close to $1000 with him.
