In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I disagree. Scammers feel that they can safely continue their fraudulent activitities because too few people are willing/able to actively go for their throats. I'd imagine that the JAG office is proficient at weeding out what they believe to be frivolous use of their services. If they're willing to become involved, they must not feel that it's an excessive course of action.

Posting a BOI thread is a help to those who actually frequent this website or do Google searches on prospective trading partners, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really accomplish a whole lot. If someone has both the means and inclination to make a scammer face real-world consequences, I say that they should go for it. I just hope that this isn't mere bluster and bravado. It'll be nice to see some follow-through that may lead to tangible repercussions for the Bad Guys.

I assure you with every fiber in my body this is no sham or parade of power. This is the real deal. My money wasn't earned by sitting at a desk of flipping burgers. My money was earned overseas as an infantryman dealing with probably the crappiest situations and sights I wouldn't wish upon anyone. I don't throw the money that I nearly gave my life for to some guy that makes a living taking money from people. I don't have the patience nor was I brought up that way.

I am not sure how fast this whole thing works but I assure you, good will come to those who wait. I'm gathering as much evidence and information as I can now. JAG has assured me there is 110% a case here. Not sure what they're compiling as far as court costs, fees, penalties, etc. but that's for me to worry. Thankfully, JAG is a free service for me. I'd hate to see what is going to happen when he has to fly to El Paso, TX, sit in a military court, and hear the lists of fees owed.

If there is one thing I've learned is nothing that involves the military is cheap.

I find it good for you to be seeking legal actions against him, maybe that will teach him something about scamming. It's one of those things, where it's false advertising. He said females, sent you males hoping you'd be none the wiser (which obviously you were) and now it's bit him in the butt. I hope the class action goes through, maybe when he's sitting in jail he'll think twice.

Thanks for your service both on the battlefield and back here at home, it sucks someone would do something like this to a serviceman.

The way I look at it is no one is safe from scum like him but the good thing is I have means of free legal services so I plan on using as much of it and stack up that bill that will fall in his lap soon enough.

I'm just looking forward to seeing him in court. I guess I should get my dress blues dry cleaned in preparation.

We need to get everyone together that has lost money from this guy and make it a class action. Let me know if i can help you in any way.

I appreciate your Service as well.

Just a side note. I have just finished a book "Fearless" about the life of Navy Seal Adam Brown. This is the most inspirational book I have ever read. It's a must read.

I have quite a collection of military-based books. A lot of good reads. A little off topic but oh well.

As for gathering people, I agree. You'll need proof, though. Receipts, pictures, etc. Without proof, there is no way to be included. I personally presented video, pictures, conversations, receipts, etc.

Explain to me how that is excessive? I went for legal advise and to document everything. I used 3 personal days [which in the military, they're worth money when you ETS - but I don't expect civilians to really understand, just believe me] to get snakes that were incorrectly sexed, one missing, and refusal to make it right.

He wanted me to pay to send them back so that he can sex them, 'confirm,' and mail me the correct snakes. I offered to FaceTime me popping the snakes, doing it on video, pictures, etc. He didn't really care. He just wanted those snakes back in his possession. From what I read and JAG reads, I'm lucky to have gotten anything - wrong or right. They advised me not to send them back and they'll follow through with legal action if I so choose which I said yes without hesitation.

Had it been any other breeder that takes pride in their reputation, the situation would have never even gotten this far. Hell, I would not have been lied to several times either. I thought when he said he'd throw in a OG free of charge, I figured all the rumors and BOI's I read were false - WRONG. They were all right. I'm not going to send back snakes and HOPE that something is coming back. At that point, I'm out of money all together and essentially could be out of snakes. Paypal requires a tracking number. If that reads 'delivered,' unless something is wrong or dead inside, they don't deal with it. Thankfully, I put in the description what was enclosed, etc. so I am covered.

I feel as if I'm taking the proper precautions and will see a positive outcome. I even told JAG if he'd send the snakes and they were present for the delivery, I'll confirm sex and take them to the hub to have the wrong sexed animals sent that very same day. Steve declined so this all started.

first off dont assume i dont understand what you had to go through to get the time off. i am currently serving in my 11th year of uniformed service. and i dont know what branch you serve but in my branch we dont get "personal days". you take leave or your ass is at work.

Second, i'm not saying you're wrong in going to the JAG. especially since this guy is already a well known/documented scammer. i was just curious as to wether or not you decided to go to the JAG before or after finding out (in the BOI) about this guys reputation.

Keep in mind that i dont deal in ball pythons so i dont know how things work for you guys. what i can say is in the carpet world its relatively common (or at the very least, not unheard of) for snakes to be miss sexed. so i guess i'm kind of used to it.

Being WTU and having my injury, I can take personal days i.e. a day pass. They are charged as leave days, though. Not sure how it works but it does work that way as the days were removed from my LES.

If you read, I went post-reading the BOI as I brought all the threads printed in full with me.

I also have carpets. In ball pythons, it's not exactly easy to wrongfully sex a snake. Popping is simple and probing is even easier. Anyone who can count can sex a ball python.

I would say in the ball world, there are so many how-to's and "this is how you find out" videos and things that learning to sex is just easy. It's also not difficult to sex them at all, so the degree of difficulty is not minimal. It's either a lazy person or a scammer, and based on this mans history it's the latter of the two.

Hence the reason to not "send them back for a double check", because if he didn't do it the first time he's trying to get product and money back on the transaction all the way around. (Steve Vigo, that is) It's quite good that the OP did not send them back, because he's right; he wouldn't see snake, money, or word from Steve thereafter.

I have this last email conversation with Steve where he stated he issued a refund of 350.00. He never issued a refund or delivered the reptiles. Not sure if this is proof enough, but this is all I have. I was not as smart as you to record the conversations.

There is no email from you about a credit in Tarah's email. We will see how that plays out. However, I do have quite a bit of documentation about your business practices, better bureau complaints, generally lying and screwing people for years. I don't take kindly to people screwing other people and getting away with it. I did not make a threat, I just wanted to let you know there can and will be consequences for your actions and they will not be in your best interest. If you are no longer ripping people off, that is Great.. glad to hear it. However, with all the negative info out there about your past, you have to fulfill commitments on time. otherwise you appear to be doing the same thing as in the past and have no credibility..
Tarah worked hard for that money to start her business, and there is no way
in hell I am going to let someone take that from her. I would not have
come across as I did if it was not for your past actions. I hope it's resolved and just a big misunderstanding. Happy Holidays as well.

Problem is you never really know the type of person your screwing until it's too late, or exactly when your luck will ran out. You don't but are about to find out, and it has. The best thing you can do for the both of you is to refund the 350.00 to the credit card I gave you tonight, stop screwing people out of their money and try to make an honest living. You and Karin didn't happen to live on 58th CT did you?

yeah thats kinda what i was figuring. that its easy to sex balls.
so i would think you have 3 options.
option 1, you get a refund on the mis sexed snakes and ship them back to him
option 2, you get a partial refund and keep the snakes
option 3, you ship the snakes back and get the females in return (of which there are surely none)

im assuming he (steven vigo) has probably rejected all those offers.
and even if he accepts one of them i wouldnt trust him to follow through.

personally, if i were you i'd be thankfull i even received some snakes period. atleast you arent completely screwed over like many of the people you see on these forums.

I'd be willing to wager that JAG gets the full refund in their hands first, plus whatever pain and suffering fees that can drum out, and then once they receive that (which they no doubt will) in THEIR hands they will ask him to send the snakes back. But, not until all fees have been paid and there is a neutral balance for Mr. Steve.

I'm not going to be thankful for getting the wrong snakes. I don't need them as males. Option 2 is out of the question unless it's a fairly LARGE margin. That's like buying some expensive shoes online and they ship you woman's shoes. I wouldn't have any use for single gene males.

Option 1 he rejected. Option 3 I'm not stupid enough to do. I would not trust him at any point right now. I will be carrying though with plans until something happens in a positive manner.

It sounds like the most likely situation at this point. I am going to push to try to get the females I originally purchased but at the same time, not even sure I'd want them from this guy anymore. The fees alone I'm sure will be daunting nevermind whatever else they pursue so we will see. I've given him more than enough chances and time to make it right. Now it's time for me to make it right forcefully.

I have the pictures of sexing and the videos. I will upload them all to my computer and post them here. Not a problem. I've been busy running back and fourth from work to JAG the past few days. I have another appointment with them tomorrow. I guess they want the package it came in and everything.

No need to worry. This is well in motion.

What is the return address on the box? As stated previously, it is not a violation of BOI rules to post Vigo's address - and it could help others who have been scammed by him as well.

I decided to send Steve a message last night on his then functioning web site Theveiledchameleon.com. 5 minutes after it was sent the message, I get Page Closed Down when attempting to access his site. I wonder if it was something I said?

Does anyone have a shipping label with a return address please.

Steve,

I see you're following the Fauna, and you decided to remove the "Self Made High School Drop Out!" and College? What's that? comments from your Education section on Facebook. At least that is a one positive move on your part.

Also a good idea to remove you and Karin's personal Facebook pages. If I were you, I certainly would not want my family and personal information made public, given the number of people you have stolen money from over the years. And by the way, I did like that last pic you loaded into your Facebook profile about the front door before the account was removed.

I really do have to hand it to you bro, you are one slippery dude. No wonder you choose the reptile business to make your living.

I am really curious though just how the hell you have managed to stay afloat for this long? and also how do you sleep at night?

I have no idea as to how your legal problems will play out, but I can assure you of one thing. One day things will be made right between you and I for what you did to my daughter.

I am going to do you a favor, and give some much needed advise. You're a young dude with a family. You need to start thinking about that right now.

I hear you were a marine. Read the book "Fearless", It could change your life. I believe in 2nd chances, so consider this to be your last. Now let's see if you can read that book, and issue that refund before I locate where you live.

This is completely routine for Steve. You will never get back-and-forth conversation in print with him admitting to any wrongdoing. He's very good at this, and very careful. The website will be back, as will the paypal account and phone numbers. But not until all appropriate time limits are expired for this particular round of scamming.
I would love to see someone take this guy down, but, honestly, the courts can't even put away all of the CEO's involved in multi-milllion dollar scams. Civil court, maybe, but I suspect he doesn't have the assets to even begin to pay of his debts.

Noelle

PayPal is notified. USAA is notified. JAG is up to date. See, I am smarter than he thinks. In the PayPal description, I listed morph, sex, approximate size. The PayPal dispute is open. My bank has their people investigating to get a FULL refund. JAG is taking up the civil charges. It is a colab with a few members that have proof that he has scammed them. The dollar amount has drifted into felony range with the first two people who sent me their paperwork. It will be working as a class-action civil manner resulting in a single case with pending feeling charges. I know he's reading this which is fine. Need advice, Steve?

You better start to save. You will need to fly to El Paso in the near future. Bring my snakes with you. May as well. :)
