In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

update on my big girl

As some of you may remember I hatched out a lesser het clown female at a whopping 17 grams from an extreme boob egg. It took her forever to shed. I tried assist feeding a couple of times, then after that I force fed twice. I think it was getting it past her small neck that was the issue. After the second meal I offered her live which she took right away. She has eaten 4 meals on her own and is not eating twice a week. Due to the size of meal, she is putting on weight slowly but with good signs. This just goes to show that even the eggs and snakes we think is pretty much a right off can surprise us.

Nice, and congrats. I never seem to have good luck with boob eggs even hatching, much less doing well.

Glad she is growing and eating by herself Randy:thumbsup:

Has anyone ever taken a snake like Randy's from super small all the way to full blown breeding female? I am currently working with a similar situation as Randy and have been curious if they always stay extra small and/or take twice as long to get up to adulthood??

Thanks!!

Beautiful girl Randy. Congrats! Way to stick with it.

Also, I remember a little while ago you had been building a new building for the snakes but some problems came up..what is the word on that project?? Would love to see finished pictures if it's up and running!

Merry Christmas!

I didn't do her raising, but I have an animal like that. Was hatched very similar in size to Randy's animal there. I don't know a whole lot about her history, how much she was fed, etc, but she came to me at better than three years old, and 1040 grams. She's eating great for me, and is sitting at 2000 grams now. She is proven for previous owner, but not for me yet. I gave her last year off to gain some weight.

Thanks Shadera for the info.

You picked your girl up at 3 years old, how long have your had her yourself to add the additonal 1000gs??

About 13 months. I'd have to look at her feed cards for specifics, but she did take about 4-5 months off to fast. She's eating a medium rat once a week. I'm inclined to think her small size has more to do with her previous owner not feeding her, than anything to do with her genetics, because she's eaten and grown like any other snake I've ever had.

Congrats Randy!! That is a hell of a looker too. At first glance I thought it was an enchi lesser.

Not as small, but I have hatched two 40g girls that hit almost 1000 grams within the first year without extreme feeding. I've only had maybe a handful under 50g's and I've noticed all have been slower to start eating on their own.

Thanks Shadera and Nick for the input, I appreciate it.

The questioning leads to perhaps the obvious, do you keep a runt with the hopes of ever breeding it, or does it become solely a pet instead? Thus far is sounds like folks with good feeding are able to add size to them.

Randy thats the fattest 37 gram snake I've ever seen! I had a pastel hatch out at 19 grams. Her head was almost the same size as her neck like the one you posted. I started out feeding her small rat legs and believe it or not she bred the next year at 1200grams. She is one of my most aggressive feeders. Sometimes those runts take off andnever look back. Hope she continues to do well for you!
