In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Need a little help, please!

I sold this snake a few weeks ago. Her neck appears to be swollen. Customer states he was initially happy with her (around Dec. 10), but fed her Saturday (12/22), tube-fed her water Sunday (?), and took this video Sunday (?).

I am confused about the swollen neck, and the tube-feeding. I HAVE heard of cases of snakes being hurt in shipping, but with my limited (around 100) shipments, haven't experienced it. Mom, dad, and brother seem to be okay, and don't have very much wobble.

CLICK HERE for the video, click here for the photos before I sent her.

I have offered to pay for a vet visit or pay for a shipping label to return her to me, then refund the payment. I have challenged the paypal dispute.

Seems to be neorological...maybe shipping? Maybe tube-feeding damage? I am not trying to get out of my terms....just trying to find out what might have happened to this poor girl.

Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

That would not be from shipping. Unless there was a other source of trama, shipping would induce stress. A stressed animal is not going to eat, rather ball up. I would be curious as to why he administered water through a tube? Is he a dvm? If it is not done right he could have aspirated the snake. If he had the snake ingest too much water or too fast it can cause problems. A snake will not develope issues like this if it just ate fine the day before. Snakes usually do not die from uri's but more so the phuemonioa they turn in to and that does not happen in a day. I would imagine that there would have been precursing issues noticed atleast a week earlier, what were they? I would just want to know a little more details about it. What did it eat and how? A snake in that shape cannot kill and eat prey.

So this snake ate on it's own but then needed to be fed through a tube for water?? WTF.. I don't even know where to start or finish with this.. Almost could be a BOI thing?? Does this person have snakes? I am still trying to figure out the whole tube feeding.. What was the video for? To show it is a spider that shows extreme spider like issues? I am at a loss I guess.. :shrug01:

I can't view the video from my iPod, but that's not a lot of info to go on. There's no reason for a healthy animal, feeding on its own, to be tubed water. I'd be more suspicious of damage caused by an over zealous owner rather than something that might have happened on your end. The snake was fine for almost two weeks and suddenly has issues after an unnecessary intervention?

Did you try and work it out, and they filed a dispute anyways?

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Why tube water?

What are your terms? Unless you have a 30 day, unconditional guarantee, the only thing you should be offering is advice. Not monetary compensation for vet bills or a refund for the animal. He was happy for a couple weeks then shoved a tube down it's throat(Why was this again?) and now it's throat is swelled? Go figure.

I am confused, is the video taken from the purchaser or you? If that was the condition of the snake before it was sold idk man a snake in that condition imo should be culled. If it was after the snake was received then the guy did something seriously wrong that caused that. I haven't heard of snakes developing something like that after birth. I wouldn't offer a refund, neither pay their vet bill. I would put their name out there as a do not sell to. Poor snake. Good luck!

It reminds me of what a snake acts like that's been over-heated badly.

Yes Jerry! I went to a friends shop and the probe fell out and was in front of a fan. It over heated the entire rack. Most were dead but the couple that were alive I put in luke warm water to not shock their system. Half seemed ok but I deemed he should sell as pets because of the stress may have cause them to be sterile. The other half did the exact same thing. Very good call my friend......kudos!

That doesnt really look like spider wobble characteristics to me. Spiders are usually all over the place, that poor thing looks half dead. Sounds to me like the buyer screwed up the snake when he tube fed it water. WHY would he do that anyway?? Did you ever ask the buyer that OP?

This seems like something that belong on the BOI against the buyer! He wants his money back cause he screwed up a snake doing something unnesessary. Thats not how it works!
