Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I did not force water into the snake. I used a small piece of tubing to get some water into her mouth. That is not what caused this. Actually thats probably why she is still alive right now. She was dehydrated because when I put water onto her skin the dimples went away. What stress did I cause her to make her neurological problem worse? When I got the package from rob the temperature was 110 degrees inside the box I check it with my IR gun could that have been it? She seemed ok when I got her even with the 110 degree temp

I find it hard to believe a Heat pack in temps below 60 would give a box temp of 110F when up in a plane. Unless this package was left out in a warm area, or on a truck floor near heat, i dont see the temps hitting that during winter months.

And 110 isnt all that hot to cause that much of a overheat in winter for a less than 24hour transit shipment! Some shipments during summer are exposed to them temps in the semi trailers and hubs and arrive fine.

But what you did with the water was unnecessary, and I dont see putting water on the skin causing anything to happen instantly. Takes hours to days for dehydration to go away.

It may have been unnecessary, but it is also not what caused this. She had it before I tried to rehydrate her.

Was the package delivered to your home or to a fedex hub.

According to weather records on Dec4th in your area was
Hi 78°F
Lo 58°F

So in the Hi 78 the inside temps of a truck could of been higher in the back and caused the heat pack to been hot. In your temps i wouldnt of even used a heat pack but im not sure on his temps the night before.

regardless of what everyone says. I have a lot of snakes, and never had one die or get sick in any serious way. I have been keeping them for 2 years now. I know someone you have more experience then I but I am not a novice. I don't know about IBD because I never had to deal with it. Which is a good thing. The snake had something brewing and it just happen to pop up in my possession. I think rob should just take the snake back. I don't mind paying for the Vet tomorrow and also paying shipping back to rob. I feel bad that his breeding effort was in vain. It's a lot of work I know.

She ate for me twice fresh killed and then frozen thawed. I was trying to transition her to frozen thawed. She was without heat for a day or so while i was getting her set up.

Why would you not have it set up before you got her instead of having her go without heat for " a day or so"?

because I was just building a new rack. She did have some heat because I moved her around to make sure she had some head for some part of the day.

Snake arrived on the 4th. On the 10th, he told me she was fine and ate. No mention of heat, no mention of lack of heat...she ate Saturday the 22nd.

Shipping Can cause all kinds of aliments to pop up that were never noticed. If the snake truly over heated due to the heat pack was too close thats one thing. You can ship spiders with minimal wobble, ship it and it can become a trainwreck for life.

But for the snake to not start doing this till what 2 weeks after having it seems odd. If it was over heated it would of showed signs of it the second you took it out of the box, which would explain why snake look dehydrated!

I don't know, man. You're not making a very good case for either your knowledge level, or your intentions. Don't suppose you thought to take pictures of this? I can't help think that it's noteworthy that you didn't bother to mention this until after it was pointed out that excessive heat could have something to do with the snake's condition.

It may seem off topic, but i believe a proper rundown of how the snake was being kept, and pictures of said setup or video will help.

In 2 weeks for it to start this seems like a malfunctioning hot spot in your rack or thermostat glitched.

A heat pack will easily exceed 100 degrees. As long as the pack wasn't directly on the snake, it should be fine. I have had this happen to me and you would know within the first hour.

Also, you make it seem like it was easy to tube feed her. I've been using preventative medicine on incoming snakes for a while and I can say its not an easy task, even on the sickly, small and weak snakes that I have treated. A snake doesn't go from eating to so weak that it can be easily be tube fed in one day without something causing this issue between those two events, IMO.

I don't think this snake can eat and drink the way it is, and will soon die. A train-wreck is ok if its at least eating and living. I don't think this snake is going to live. I can make a video update of the snake to show you whats up with her currently.

There is no way I have caused harm to this little snake. I want the best for her. I am just disappointed with the snake i was sold by Rob Hutchinson. I have bought many snakes on fauna and have had no problems with anyone. This is the first. I am not making treats of IBD. Honesty there is no way of knowing until after she is dead. All I can tell you is something is very wrong with her and it is within his 30 day guarantee that he posted on the add. In my own opinion I think it could be IBD, or a severe defect from breeding spider x spider. I would like rob to accept the snake back and to refund my money. I am taking the snake to the vet tomorrow to rule out IBD. I know it comes from boas and rob deals with boas so it is just a suspicion that I have. She is very isolated from my other snakes and they all seem find at this point. I will keep you updated after I go to the vet tomorrow.

Rob,
What was the guarantee given in the ad? Not implied or assumed, what's the wording in the ad? That's what needs to steer your course of action here.

Yes the actual heat packs, more specific the 40hr uni ones ive got videos of them hitting 110-130 in 80f Room. But once out in winter temps traveling around on planes, that will drop to the 80-90s keeping the snake around room temp.

If the box were flipped during transit in 78F temp and snake laid on the heat pack, yes that can cause it, but indirect touching during winter wont happen.

The tube feeding is not really tube feeding. It was just getting some water into her mouth. Like literally a drop. I don't think she has drank anything since then and will probably need more hydration at the vet tomorrow, but I will let them take care of that.

I am with you, Chris, and I struggled with this for awhile. I offer a 30-day health, sex, and satisfaction guarantee. I have no verbiage to exclude negligence on the buyer's part.

At the same time, I think some reasonable expectation of proper husbandry should be expected.
