In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Thomas Dorn - aeterrabyte

Would be no different then giving antibiotics to a person unless the mixture were incorrect and too much concentrate was given.

So, it's safe to speculate that in Thomas' amateur attempt at rehydration/treatment he made a possible fatal... mistake is too kind of a word. He made a fatal error, resulting in a corkscrewing snake?

One could speculate that, based on how he talks about antibiotics and medicating reptiles, it's possible he accidentally used the wrong medication (or hadn't done his research on the one he used).

For fear of a libel lawsuit threat from the OP I would have to decline answering...:rotflmao:

FWIW, I don't think he medicated her at all when the water was given. At that point in time, he said she was looking dry - no mention of the flopping around until the next day, after the water was given. It's entirely possible that she looked dry because she was in shed and his humidity was too low.

Rob, have you heard from him at all lately? Please tell us she's improving. :(

I have not read all this thread, but did read SEVERAL pages. It seems like the snake arrived ok, and then began its neuro issues? If this snake did not have Spider in it, I would suspect overheating during shipping, or some other issue. Since the snake does have Spider in it, it looks like it is just a severe case of Spider wobble. If this is correct, how bad was the wobble prior to shipping, and if it was bad, was the buyer made aware of it?

As breeders, we can assume everyone who is buying from us has our level of knowlege, but that is often not the case. Caramel breeders should inform prospective buyers on their issues, same with Spider breeders, Desert breeders etc.

OR breeders could start taking the moral high road and stop producing genetically defective animals simply because they sell for more & or look prettier. I know, getting Ball Python breeders to stop being greedy is a pipe dream but hey....I just get tired of seeing all these inferior animals produced simply because Herpers are like Pokemon collectors.

Fantastic to hear that Paypal went in your favor, Rob! What will happen next?

Now there's a good question.

I am pretty sure Thomas doesn't want this snake, and I'd hate to think that he'd punish her for this ordeal. If he wins his CC claim, I'd like to see him auction her off, here on Fauna, and donate the proceeds either to Fauna or some 501(c)(3) or whatever. If he loses his claim, I suppose he could keep her or try to sell her.

One tough thing about this is not knowing if she (Yellow) is 'healthy' with a bad wobble or if she's hurt. She didn't wobble like that here, that's for sure. Like I said before, I never would have sold her if she did. I suppose that's just one of those things that's up to the reader to decide, though.

I am really not going to go out of my way to help him unless/until he renounces the false allegations/insinuations he's made about me.

I think tomorrow night, when Thomas is able to return (?), we'll know a little bit more about how this may wind down.

Oh, Charlotte and Shadi: I have not had email contact with Thomas nor have I spoken with Dr. Lusk. I hope that when Thomas returns it's the Dr. Jekyll version, so we can possibly come to a reasonable solution.

Says who, All animals can be genetically messed up. Doesnt mean all spider gene morphs are to be left as is and fall death to the earth cause a few know nothing of their behavior. And lump them in as genetically flawed. They been around longer than All of us been around, yet they managed to continue to reproduce for How many thousands of years.

Ive produced good 50+ spiders in past 2 seasons, ranging from single to triple gene and NONE had problems nor could you tell they were wobbling till feeding. Granted you have a train wreck theres no need to breed it but some do for the fact they can produce ones with minimal wobble. Spiders are my favorite morph in the industry and always will be.

Sorry for the off topic but i cant stand when people post like this.

I don't believe you would have sold her if she had an extreme wobble.
Besides, it is obvious, that you did not, by Mr. Dorn's own admission that her wobble was very minimal (quite acceptable by him), when he received her, and remained very minimal up until that day approx. 19-20 days later.

Both Davids. Lol that makes life easy. Thomas stayed he was ok with how the snake reacted when purchased. It was at that time a slight wobble. Later on, after the forcing etc he claims it was bad. But I could get a small normal baby to go trough the motions if I did what he did in the vids. On top of the spider gene.
As for the genetics, most of us who keep and breed the spider morph will retire animals if the wobble is bad. Bad babies should be culled, regardless of the price tag. Spiders are dropping in value still, as are the Caramels and the deserts. You won't see the spider disappear though. We're on the low scale here. Look into dogs, cats and fish if you'd like to see some real sick stuff. You may not disagree, but if it can hunt correctly, why not give it a chance? It'd have one in the wild. Better than a Lucy.

I suggest the continued general discussion of ball python genetics and possible ethical implications of such breedings be taken to the ball python discussion forum.
thank you

Weird you asked this question in the introduction section and it was answered. Now you come to this specific thread and ask? Something makes me wonder where your IP address registers..

Lighten up - he's a brand new member, and this was his first post. He figured out that this wasn't the place to ask, so he took his question to a more suitable section.

As April suggested let's keep this thread on topic.
