    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My name is Bob Shabaga and I live in Kelowna .B.C Canada. Yesterday when I arrived home from work I had 11 e-mails from people telling me that I need to give my personal website to a lady who Trademarked her buisness YESTERDAY. Lynn Rafferty asked all her clients and friends to e-mail me and get me to give her my domain. They threatened to sue me and even tell the large hobbiests for Crested geckos not to sell to me in Canada or America. I have had this personal page for about a year now and have never heard of Lynn Rafferty or her sticker/gecko business. Probably because it was not real until YESTERDAY. To get all your friends to attempt to cyber bully me into giving her my page is wrong and I am sure she will continue to harass anyone who is in her way of what she wants. If this has happened before please let me know.

Just out of curiosity, why would you adopt the name of a business that has been established for the better part of a decade as your own? Was it intentional, or did you not bother researching the name prior to claiming it?

Either way I think it would be pretty stupid to continue using it. It might be a bit of an annoyance initially to change everything over, but at least you would have your own identity.
 
I own the rites and have for a year. I purchased 2 years at a time for both the .com and the .ca
She has not been in buisness for almost a decade she created the Buisness officially yesterday. Eyelash Exotics was the name of a childrens book I was writing years back and no it was not trademarked it anyway nor did it show on google searches. I do not own a buisness called Eyelash Exotics just have a personal page and to tell me that you have had an inernet buisness for 7 years and could not afford the $75 is a joke. To have your friends harrass me and threaten me is wrong on every level. I would of loved to have a site called Crested Gecko.com but guess what its takken and you dont see me getting all my friends to bully him into giving me his page for a Crested Gecko buisness.
She says one thing on her site than aonther on her personal page calling gecko people psycotic and gay

I think it would be good to calm down, collect the facts, and see whether an agreement of some kind can be reached.
First of all, ask Ms. Rafferty to show you where she had trademarked her name:

There may be more ways to search, but it would be easier just to ask. It is actually actionable for one business to falsely claim a trademark.

Bob, don't allow yourself to be bullied but don't get frustrated and start being discourteous. Ask for facts. Ask to see if some mutually acceptable agreement can be made. Go from there.

In the interests of transparency, let Ms. Rafferty know about this thread and allow her to express her side here.
 
thanks for the info. I do not actually own a buisness nor am I looking to in the near future I just was curious how stuff like this can continue.

This is the kind of thing I am talking about . why threaten me with slander and bouycott because you want my site and keep messaging me? This sort of thing should not be watched in idle while they continue to bully.

If you want to call Lynn a "twat" in public you're going to have a really hard time making any kind of name for yourself as a breeder of New Caledonian geckos. Lynn and I have some very big connections, including the biggest and best known names in the industry, and the biggest name in New Caledonian geckos in Canada. We can make sure you won't be able to buy any nice geckos from any well known breeders if you aren't careful. I would strongly advise issuing her an apology for the insult, or risk going nowhere in this hobby.

This was in reference to her facebook page she was writing on and I wrote "twaaat" like "Biaach" its close to twat but meant to be a joking slang.
 
Bob, do not copy cuss words as you did in your first post. Also, be careful to edit any inappropriate language.
Why not ask Lynn and Andrew to present their side here?

Aside from any business issues here, after reading what you said in context I totally agree that you own an apology. You can never forge any business (or for that matter, non-business) agreements if you start with rudeness.
Be courteous. If you are trying to communicate or negotiate in a business context, don't use slang or other words that might be misconstrued.

Please name the other person rather than allowing them to remain anonymous.
 
They are reading this and it is up to them to post the screen cap conversation where they were attacked, not me. I have just seen the conversation and know this has happened before. I don't expect that knowledge to make a difference, that person has every right to stay out of the line of fire from Lynn and her attack fans as she is doing to Mr. Shabaga.
 
I am not even going to take the time to read this. I didn't attack anyone, and I definitely sent this message to him right before he decided to post this on the BOI.

Done. The quote was a quote, because EVERY SINGLE REPTILE PERSON in this "business" is just as insane as I am. Willing to accept that. It was supposed to be funny, not hateful.

Me and Lynn are in the same time zone and I have my FaunaClassified set to EST.
They're the same exact time zone of EST which confuses me.

Didn't even know about this post until now. My bad. Either way, ANYONE ELSE'S name should not be involved in this conversation. If you have a problem with me, for something I have done, then whatever. I purchased the trademark yesterday, if you were to look at my facebook page that has been up for longer than two years, You'd know better than to think I made up the name yesterday. I have loyal fans and I have people that hate me. If you can't come up with the names of "all of the people I bully" then don't bother trying to bring it up as a valid point. and OF COURSE I'm going to delete you from my business page, as you aren't even part of the argument, or part of ANYTHING relating to this matter.

He owns the domain name which cost him 75 dollars. Purchased in 2012.
I asked if, because the names are the same and I own the UNITED STATES trademark which costs WAY more, which means I have NO grounds to sue someone out of country, which is why I never threatened to do so.

This is all over someone sending him hatemail, probably after seeing him call me a tw*t on my own page, and I can't control that. I agreed that I shouldn't have posted the request (where I specifically asked NO HATE MAIL be sent), without discussing it with him first so I deleted it after it being up for maybe ten minutes.

this is incredibly out of hand and I personally sent him an apology, he clearly doesn't know what is going on but feels attacked, and as I had said, my issue had been resolved after suggesting we named our "hobbies" Eyelash Exotics CA and Eyelash Exotics US, linking to eachother to prevent confustion, etc. This is all a huge annoyance at this point and I just don't care anymore. Talk crap all you want.

I am a VERY nice person until someone is rude to me. In that sense I have EVERY right to be rude back and I will defend that.
 
Like I said, I didn't send anyone to attack anyone. on that post I specifically posted NO HATE MAIL as I wanted it to be persuasive, not hateful, and also like I said, I realized that it could cause drama and took it down almost immediately after talking with a friend. My intention was not to bully anyone.
