this pic of course is just for reference but as you can see next to my 9" that is nowhere near 8-10" i will post a pic of the proper way the tortoise is measured if people seem to think this is not evidence enough

okay here is the measurement, almost 7 inches, so close to 8+ as described in email and on my purchase ticket 6 3/4 inches is the measurement. but hey i should have asked for a pic next to a dollar bill.

my whole point is if your selling something as a size, or as described. ummmm you should describe it correctly, it is evident he flat out lied

The male red foot does have some pyramids, so is prices lower for the pair, they are pictured on our ks.com adds.

Did you go and look at their Kingsnake ads to see photos of what you were buying or did you just go through with the purchase, without looking?

We measured them total length of 8"+ when we measured here.

I know nothing about tortoises. Is there another way to measure them that's different than the way you did? If not I think you're owed a refund unless they're claiming those are not the tortoises they sent you. I don't think the pyramiding is relevant since he did make you aware of it.

Let me explain.

People making false bad guy threads are MUCH more common than people making false good guy threads. Much, much more common. A bad BOI has FAR more impact on a person's reputation. It doesn't matter how many good guy threads they have, just one bad guy thread can ruin their reputation.

That is why evidence is required for bad guy threads. It's easy for someone with a grudge to come here and post something negative about the person they don't like.

James, nobody is trying to discredit you. You will only hurt yourself if you lash out at the people asking questions about the transaction. Read through the BOI and you will see that every person receives the same treatment when they post here. If you have a negative experience, you need to provide any and all evidence that you can.

I'm sure if Outback Reptiles was calling you a bad guy, you would want us to ask for evidence instead of just taking their word for it.

With that being said, the tortoise you received is clearly smaller than the 9 inch animal you already had. No disagreement there. You should notify Outback Reptiles of this thread so that they have a chance to resolve things publicly with you. Sometimes peer pressure will work even when a seller is ignoring you.

Not true. Not even close. This statement is just a continuation of your whining about how you seem to think you were wronged in another thread. I don't think you were. You came out complaining about what really amounted to a non-issue. While you choose to see it as some big conspiracy against anyone who disagrees with Outback, the simple truth is that no one at all agreed with you; whether they were friends of Josh, or not. I think you just need to get over yourself and realize just how foolish and unreasonable you appear. As previously stated, I'm no fan of Outback's, but that doesn't mean that your nonsensical gripe should win by default.

Ahh, the old 'Wolf Pack' argument. Sorry to break it to you, that's not what happened to you. Again, it was your own attitude that lead to your troubles. The vast majority of us strive to be objective people who don't form our opinions until after arguments have been made and facts have been presented. Your own conduct ensured that the masses would disagree with you, not some secret interest in protecting Outback.

No, not really. You mentioned not seeing how bad the pyramiding was before purchasing and I was pointing out that you had the opportunity to view the product before your purchase. You should have looked at their ads, no matter what size was listed in the ad title, or have asked for a link to that advertisement so you could actually look before buying.

In this business its also important to see what you're buying, always ask for pictures before saying "yes" and sending your money. Trust plays a big role in any online purchase, but it really is up to the buyer to ask for photographs of what is being paid for.

Obviously, if they claimed it was over 8 inches then they did lie to you, but, as far as the pyramiding goes, you had a place to look for photos and you should have looked or requested more information as far as that went. If you had looked (I am assuming you hadn't) you might have been able to judge the size and save yourself this trouble.

You are full of it:. The first few posts here were others describing problems as well. One person posts they had positive experience in this thread and you get all bend out of shape.

All you did was put the OP on defensive for no reason whatsoever. Asking questions is standard fair. So far you are the only one slinging mud here.

It was a simple question. It wasn't outrageous. Flying off the handle when someone asks a simple question only makes you look ridiculous.

Nobody criticized you or accused you of lying. Fact is only a couple of questions have been asked. Just because someone came on and stated your going to get attacked, you act like this

you know what forget i said anything, outback is a great place to buy reptiles, i recommend them to anyone. it is completely my fault that i got ripped off. i should have flew to Virginia with a tape measure to ensure that they were the size he said they were.

Nobody has even really asked any tough questions. If you can't handle some basic questions without feeling you are being attacked then maybe this isn't the place for you.

So, you tell Josh it's 5 to 6 inches and he emails you that it's 8 to 10 inches and frankly, I can't see a bit of difference between the two of you. Neither one of you gave the other the correct information.

Josh, you REALLY should be more accurate or make sure your people know how to measure.

Several of us are trying to agree with you but you're making it hard with the constant whining. If you're not willing to answer any questions when you post a bad guy thread this forum is not for you. I THINK THEY OWE YOU A REFUND!

Apparently, OP stated the need for tortoises of a size that would enable him to work on his breeding project with red foot tortoises. By not receiving the size that was offered, it will delay his project by a minimum of one year if not more. I totally understand his frustration.
