In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How do I "prove out" this granite female?

So what is the proceedure I should follow to verify that she is genetic? She is a WC from Outback.
I do not have a normal male. Can I pair her with an enchi male (example), but where do I go from there and what am I looking for?

You want to breed one of her sons back to her. Assuming one or more of the babies you will produce from her carries some of the same traits, you'll want to pick the one (male) that looks most like mom, whichever one carried over the most of the granite trait and breed him back to her.

This is assuming that you will get a male, and assuming any of the offspring even get the granite look. Looking at her, one would assume she'll pass something along that can be identified.

So you have original mom here, you raise up one or all of her sons and breed the most likely candidate back to her and see what happens. You would hope to hit a super of some sort in most cases. (If it is an Inc-dom gene or a recessive) Otherwise, if not a super, you would look for more snakes that look like her and see what they all do when bred to other things. (If it is a dominant gene)

As to what to breed her to, some thing would be better than other but it would really depend on what you have in your collection. I would say something single gene would be your best bet though, less confusion when it comes time to try and identify things.

Good luck, she looks like a Granite to me!
LOTS of wild caught granite types emerging with regularity, I know many do very different things so it would be fun to find out.

I believe one of the best Granite combos was a GraniteMojave. I'm not a big Granite fan but it was sickk! I'll see if I can find what line it was...

Thanks for the informative feedback Amanda. I don't have a mojo and my enchi and a pastel are my only other one gene males. I think I'll go enchi if I don't pick up another single gene male. Thanks again.

No problem at all. I'd usually not recommend a Granite X Enchi pairing but Enchi might not be a bad idea this time considering Enchis should be nice and clean. Depending on what your Enchi male looks like, it could help you to see the Granite. If your Enchi male is spotted already it wouldn't be as much help but still an okay idea.

Worst comes to worst it's better to have another Enchi clutch rather than a Pastel clutch.

Here is the male enchi I had in mind.

Steve that's a pretty nice Enchi boy you got there, he's pretty clean so I'd think the Granite would stand out.

I say go for it!
