In situations like this, that often means little more than that the person just wants to lay low until the episode is hopefully forgotten. It wouldn't be surprising if its "new owner" suddenly decides to sell it in the very near future.

Well, the cops may be able to track him down from his cell phone. I'd give them a quick call, explain the entire situation, provide them with the email proof that it's being kept in a cardboard box, and see if they can do anything about it. You might want to have some material on hand to explain how they're supposed to be kept. Try making comparisons to ways that someone would mistreat a cat or a kitten by keeping it locked in a cold garage or something like that.

If a crime is being committed you call the cops. You don't think "This is too small to bother them with. I'm sure it'll work out." You call the cops. If you don't care enough about these animals to want to protect them then what are you doing here?

I don't know if this is true or not, but I received another email for an unknown source to me, that claims he let the snake go in the brush. I hope it's not true and just sick joke he's playing anonymously. I hate myself right now.

It was never my intention to make any profit off of her. My intention was to place her in a better situation than what I had going on at the moment. There's no money being made for a $75 rehoming and then driving 80 miles to meet. What upset me is, yes, he fooled me and played me for a sucker. I give too much faith to people. I was convinced that she would be in a good home. Seeing her being flipped after believing she was placed upset me. It was more upsetting seeing him lie about her genetics, hearing she was being housed in a cardboard box with no heat, and at one point using another breeder's pics to represent her.

You're right, this chapter is over. I'm just praying that whoever took her off of his hands is a better person and can care for her.

You're unfortunately right, but the important thing there is that you tried. It may be quixotic, but I still think making the effort is necessary if there's the slightest chance it may do some good.
