In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So, I just got a clutch of about 10 slugs. I have decided to offer them up for sale as trial or test eggs. If you are just setting up your incubator, and want to check the temps and humidity and if your fan works, you can use these as test eggs. You will "feel" like you are really incubating eggs, and a big clutch at that, but if you royally screw it up, and your temps are all jacked up, do not fear, the test eggs would not have hatched anyways, and you can reuse them and try again.

And my one Crystal in my other clutch, one and only, and a Spider Crystal to boot, was dead in the egg.

That sucks!!!! So sorry to hear... I had a female lay 12 this year. 4 were slugs, 3 infertile, and 2 more died. So from 12, I have 3 good eggs left. I know it's not as bad as 12 slugs, but I feel for ya.
