In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Washingtonpost77

you guys are amazing this is why boi is bs dont come at me for this first off you have no idea when he sent the money vs when the deal was made if he agreed to sell the turtle on monday and money wasnt sent till friday is it still his fault for not selling it to him. what is the time frame of whole deal ?

as far as my dealing from that poast thread o please enough already lucille

and for the record i dont know either person that this thread is about

If you've got a negative BOI history then you probably shouldn't appear to be supporting someone that is pulling sketchy moves. It's just flat-out dumb. If you truly don't know the seller the OP is referring to then you've put a fresh coat of pain on the target that is already on your head, and you've done it with absolutely nothing to gain.

Smart move here would be to just hush up and walk away. Your rep is already looking pretty ragged, don't want to drag it through the dirt any more.

Especially since Burmbreeder/Artie Davidson has ignored requests to amend his Full Name and continues to post under his Girlfriends... Not to be trusted.

Hmmmm - I guess you forgot, or just plain missed, that there is an account registered in Artie's name.
While I believe that many of the posts made on Laura's account have been made by Artie, unless/until it can be proven that he's making any of these posts, there's not much point in raising that subject. For the time being, in this thread, let's just consider burmbreeder's posts on their own merit (or lack of same)

Interesting world you're trying to create here....
What if somebody - me, for example - said you were too new here to be making such comments, or even participating on the BOI??
This thread is not about Laura/Artie; and you really don't need to go to any lengths to discredit them, or discourage them from posting. As I said in my last post - just judge the comments on their own merit. That should be enough.

Gotcha. I didn't take the time to read all 29 pages of that thread, just saw that a Moderator had censored Burmbreeder's posts for an incorrect Full Name. That doesn't change the other accusations that were in there of various sketchy business dealings, though.

As for you, Burmbreeder, you're right, the thread shouldn't be one-sided. That's why the Seller is welcome to post in their own defense. This isn't a court, however, and you're not a lawyer. Why would you want to be associated with what is quite obviously the wrong side (at least from the info we have.).

Might as well get this out of the way.
Stick to the topic of this thread, please. If you two (or anybody else) can't stop the bickering - or, at least, keep it relevant to the subject - you'll be removed.

Re-read what I posted. I didn't tell them that that shouldn't be allowed to post here, I said it was foolish of them to do so. As for the 'Too New' thing, IMO that's the reason that join dates are in the little box to the right. Should the opinion of a long-standing member of this forum be given more weight than a newbie like me? Absolutely. Comments should not just stand on their own merit, the business history of the one making them should be considered too.

If a statement makes sense, it makes sense...and if it is flawed, it is flawed. That works regardless of who posted it. Focusing on who wrote it makes the evaluation of the words more subjective than objective.

Now, to get this back on the subject. Aside from the belief of the OP, do we know that his friend's was the only offer being considered by the seller? Do we know the full circumstances of the deal? It's easy to take things at face value, but we're still working with one side of the story.
I'll refrain from saying more, because I don't want to feed the seller anything he can use to explain himself. As it stands, he showed that money is worth more than his word - people can consider that accordingly when looking at his ads.

The seller does not owe the buyer anything for the shipping. The buyer didn't pay him for shipping...the buyer sent him a shipping label to use. The buyer gets that refund from the shipping service.

I stand corrected. Harald is right. I never used the service & read in wrong where I believed sending the label was the same as paying for shipping without the option of being refunded. I apologize if I confused anyone.

I asked earlier but am not 100% sure the seller has even been made aware of the thread from the response I received.

The seller does seem to be not all that trustworthy, however, I do think the lowball offer, close enough to half of what he was asking, has something to do with his backing out.

Your probably right about the reasoning for backing out on his word. I personally dont like when I feel someone is attempting to gain something
by taking advantage of me but have the choice to deny the offer. It may be rude & insulting but doesn't constitute the potential buyer as being a bad guy. Honestly, I dont know if the seller deserves the bad guy BOI but the fact he turned on his word & as you mentioned may not be 100% trustworthy does qualify for at least an info BOI.

I seen people sell or put a price tag on animals for way over the usual price because of the value it holds to them & it's not questioned because no one is forced to buy it. Even though me or you my not like the practice of low balling I think it's only fair to work both ways & shouldn't be questioned because no one is forced to sell it.

The truth is until the seller comes here & provides his story we don't 100% know the reasoning & there's not to many things that can justify going back on your word which is why the BOI was posted. I still hope he visits this thread & clears up a few things for us though.

Just to put this "low ball" issue to bed. The going market rate for an adult spotted turtle is $125-$175. Just because you see them advertised for twice that amount doesn't mean they're selling for that or are worth that. For a spotted to be $250 it better have close to 100 spots, which this one did not.

I offered $150, right in the middle of the going rate. Fair by my book.
