In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'd like some feedback on the pricing of 2013 bananas...This is probably a touchy subject for some but this is what this forum/platform is for.

Lets just say the prices are going to start falling. There are a couple individuals that have a good amount of them and as soon as they are out more people will be able to afford them

I believe the price has already dropped an enormous amount and it will continue to do so. Especially this year. There have been so many banana's held back, so many have been bought and sold, and just about everyone who has one is breeding it to everything...this adds up to a ton more banana's coming and relatively the same number of people buying. I believe this year and going into next we will see prices drop quite a bit more.

Just my $0.02

In my opinion.......no. Unless there is something you really want to make and can't wait. The big money is over so wait until they drop the rest of the way. Look at how many combos are already produced. Go look for something that is not inflated and has potential to create new combos because people have overlooked them.

Ok so let me pose this question for you guys, given the choice would you go with a banana or a GHI?

A GHI. All day. Darker, less combos out there, much more valuable imo.

I also agree that a banana is not a good investment right now. It's not like it's a "bad" investment, it would just be alot better investment later as Randy suggested.

fixed

It's kind of a double edged sword because they are in demand and a few breeders out there have been holding them back and I know that there probably will be some saturation. However, is it the same with the GHI's? Are they being held back in similiar numbers as well. And we must keep in mind the whole "sex link" deal with the bananas whereas the GHI's will give you normal odds..Decisions, decisions

GHI lol.

Matt did about as good with that project as you can do. He's still getting 15K regularly for his males, I am not seeing that with Banana's. I see a few listed there, but most are under and I can only imagine what people are really letting them go for.
I also believe Matt hasn't released anywhere near the number of Banana's, that's just my guess though. I have no real data to back this up.

This is what I see on forums and social media and what I hear from talking with others. Banana's imo don't make everything better while GHI has been pretty solid so far.

It's easy.....which do you like better? I mean its not like a genetic stripe or super stripe. These are completely different animals. I personally like brighter yellow snakes so would go that route. I will not get in a project because the money is right. If I am going to be in the project for a minimum of 5 years, I better love the snake it makes. Go for the one that speaks to you. The banana makes some sweet combos, but the value compared to where the market will go is not there. In other words, had you bought in to 7/11 when there was only 20 you could have made a ton, but now you will make a living (maybe). I always look at new projects for how much wow factor they have to me personally. If they make money great, and if not I have snakes that blow me away.

I know exactly how you feel but one and its combos have to speak to you so that's the way to go, or find another that makes really cool combos

I also really like both GHI and Banana/CG. For me it doesn't matter if I think high dollar snakes are a good investment or not, I don't have the money to invest. So I'm just waiting to see which falls into reach first some time when I've sold enough of the $200 - $500 snakes I produce. Even though both are co-dominant they have enough wow factor that I don't see a problem selling them even when they eventually become common enough for me to have one. When that will be I have no idea.

Yeah there will never be a factor of selling them, it's just for how much. Two years ago I remember seeing a male for $50,000 which is now under $20,000. When the hords of them come out they will be under $10,000 very soon. If someone buys them now and next year they are $5000 falling to $2000 the following, they might not make their money back. Last year vanilla creams were asking $3000 where you can find one now for $1000. The guy that can afford to spend that much already did, so for someone who is going to have a big financial hit from it, it's not a good move. They can use that money for something that they can recover from much faster.

Talking to a few of high end breeders gave me a rough idea of how many will be released. I believe that the money with the bananas will be in the females.

Did they mention that one specific person has more bananas than 90% of people have total snakes in their collection?
