Great to see man. Congrats.
With great respect to my fellow breeders and hobbyists, I'll take Jeremy's side on this one. *If* the snake can survive on its own (no assisted feeds, etc.) *and* it can be found a caring home, *and* you get an agreement not to breed in written form...then why just kill it? Maybe he's meant to live a long, unique life with an owner who would be delighted to help an animal in need but would not have otherwise considered it. That said...unless all of those are present, culling may be the best option.
And if you need someone i know a gal who loves the broken up reptiles and does not breed. She will do a contract with you on not breeding !! She has a 1 eyed albino i had. I wanted to cull but it was healthy as can be. Just one eyed. With great respect to my fellow breeders and hobbyists, I'll take Jeremy's side on this one. *If* the snake can survive on its own (no assisted feeds, etc.) *and* it can be found a caring home, *and* you get an agreement not to breed in written form...then why just kill it? It should have never been fed
I have one here I took in,in a collection rescue that has a pretty good neck kink
The thing was well over a year old and I was hoping to at least be able to give it away after rehab etc.
He is still here, eating medium rats and being the model for "docile"
He will be 8yrs in acouple months, the responsible thing was not done 9 yrs ago.
As with humans, some just shouldnt be breeding
Your gonna do what your gonna do
Why the board drama suggesting your speculative position?
If you cant kill it,you cant kill it
Simple enough, best of luck with it
Its the "suck" part of being a responsible breeder Jeremy
Being compassionate is not part of the animal kingdom, its one of many
human intrusions.
This world is full of living facts that support the fall out when human emotions are allowed the foothold.
The emotional side of you fed that animal no?
Did you ever get any video?
I know that must have been tough for you Jeremy, but I think you did the best thing for the little one. Don't forget to focus on all the beautiful good babies you did get though!
