In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello!

I was on your website and interested in learning about your 2013 stock and what you have or will have available. Thanks!

Just wow... If he's still brazenly trying to rip people off, it shouldn't be too hard for law enforcement to do something about it. All they have to do is act like a buyer and give him enough rope to hang himself.

or maybe bobby hasnt gone insane yet and those weren't his tegus you never know for sure and if he is replying to you he either wants more money or he hasnt lost it yet

Just because he has ripped off people, abandoned animals and basically behaved like a scumbag, it DOES NOT mean he's insane. It just means he's a crook.

They are definitely his Tegus. I have known Bobby since before he started breeding Tegus and that is his place. I have no idea what happened to make the change in him, however about two years ago he did change and we have not spoken to him since.

I have also had a bad experience with Bobby Hill of Varnyard Herps. I had contacted him via email in early May. He responded back to me fairly quickly with the info i needed to put a deposit down on a 2013 Arg. B/W Tegu hatchling. Once i sent him the deposit of 75$. It was like he was ghost. I sent many emails, but yet no reply. Unfortunately i did not find out about his thieving ways till after the fact. Which is actually how i stumbled upon Fauna Classifieds. The icing on the cake was, when i was attending a reptile expo in Cleveland, ohio. A vendor who I was purchasing a Tarantula from told me he get his Tegu hatchlings from a breeder in Florida. Wouldn't you know it, just so happened to be our buddy Bobby. Who had sold him some Tegus in early spring. Small world. Ive since considered it a loss. Just really grinds my gears. Wish I was a Fauna member a little sooner. oh well just thought i should share my super awesome experience with everyone . Thanks for the shoulder

How did you send that deposit to him?

I hope all of you realize bobby is no longer in business or anywhere to be found he abandoned his animals and disappeared most of them survived and have been relocated

Of course everyone realizes that. But as long as Bobby is still taking money with no desire to provide promised product, this will continue to be bumped up and added to, as it should be.

He is 100% deserving of the bad guy moniker at this point.

I think that has been covered extensively in this thread. I think people coming forward with their experiences and hoping to still be made whole is still important.

Also, knowing additional information certainly helps fill in some murky details.

Particularly interesting fact was the landlord and the reports coming out of Panama City was that the animals were abandoned last winter. It is interesting know that some have stated that he was taking funds at least up until

Same month the story broke that he long abandoned them.

I hope people still fill comfortable coming forward with their stories.

Particularly those that have paid more recent. There may be a slim chance of recovery. My understanding was his paypal account is dead and negative. Little hope on that front.

If he is still taking money orders for any animals it should be documented as well.

Haha! That's funny. I came to post the same thing having just seen the same python article! It does indeed make one wonder. Since this has been brought back up, I'm curious, did anyone ever bother making a legal issue of this? I still find it amazing that Bobby was able to rip off so many people on line for so much money and get away with it without any legal repercussions. It makes you wonder why, if law enforcement and/or the legal system won't do it when there's so many people involved, why it doesn't happen more often. It's a scary thought that someone can just steal your money like that and that nothing can be done legally.

I think all of Bobby's victims deserve to know if this is his new occupation. Perhaps if enough of them write or call, they can get some satisfaction. I find it strange that he would be hired as an "agent" after abandoning and causing the deaths of so many of his pet lizards in addition to screwing people out of thousands of dollars and then disappearing.

How do you know thats him? Bobby Hill is a super common name.

Seriously.

People are really jumping the gun off of an out of focus image as fat as the person is concerned and the happenstance of a common name.

Someone should probably try substantiating it before bombarding the very organization that would ADORE the chance to show the herp industry acting like fools.

I apologize to everyone on the BOI - I have been told just now that this snake collection agent "Bobby Hill" is not the Varnyard tegu Bobby Hill. I guess I assumed that with a reptile-related job in Florida it must be him. Ooops. You know what they say about "assuming".

Who told you, definitively, that it is not the Bobby Hill we have been discussing? I made it clear in my post that I was not sure but if you put 25 pounds on the Bobby I remember quite well, it's not a bad match.

If someone has actual proof that it is not the same person, please post it

I am not sure if it was meant as a joke but I have not run across another person named Bobby Hill (cartoon characters aside) in my 52 years. Not what I consider a common name at all. Couple that with the fact that he is a snake specialist and the coincidence gets a bit thin.

Again, if someone knows for sure...please post

The fact that the FWC was heading the criminal investigation for him releasing Tegus (or for abandoned Tegus finding a way to get out) and fleeing the city leads me to believe it is highly unlikely this is the same Bobby Hill.

That aside, type in Bobby Hill or Robert Hill in Florida in Google and plenty of them pop up.

There is also an article from 2009 talking about this Bobby Hill saying he has worked for the South Florida Water Management District for 30+ years while spending his entire life in Miami.
