    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Guys, if you are looking for TRUE CB tortoises, Andrew Hermes from ATC would be your best person to contact in the country. I have been working with him for many years. There has never been a problem at all. If something happens, Andrew is willing to do refund or replacement right away. Sometimes he even throws in some tortoises for FREE if it is a huge order!!! What a nice guy!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, Andrew know about what he breeds. You can simply ask any question about tortoises to him, he will always give you the best answer.

Sadly, as THIS THREAD clearly shows, that's not even remotely the case. When his own negligence caused a tortoise to arrive DOA, Andrew Hermes simply decided to claim that it wasn't actually his tortoise, and that the one he received supposedly died, also. Although clinging to these lame excuses as his reason for stiffing the customer, he never actually provided a shred of evidence to back any of it up. So, if you want to take the chance on receiving little more than evasions and rationalizations in the event of a DOA, go ahead and buy from ATC. If you want a live arrival guarantee that actually means something, I'd suggest you shop elsewhere.
 
Andrew is just making himself look worse with every person he has post here in his defense. You guys are only making things worse for him.:shootfoot

Must agree...I mistakening thought I was viewing faunaBOI forum,not ATC testimonial page...rather nlatant. Any breeder of any species can do a fine job when all goes well,IMO,the mark of a person with honesty and integrity is taking care of problems in a timely,classy way.
 
In fairness, Andrew may have nothing to do with this sudden onslaught of supporters... but the timing and succession of them certainly make them appear prompted. (This one was a little too like a commercial to take seriously, IMO)
Sometimes, I wish it was acceptable to merge BOI threads.
 
To me long ago BOI posts are one thing, but the spate of new posts on behalf of the ATC to me, tarnish those who post them. Whether prompted or not, those posting certainly had the opportunity to read the Bad Guy thread where Andrew Hermes has not satisfactorily taken care of his customer after the death of the tortoise sent:

After reading such a post, in my opinion perhaps an ethical person would just wait and see how Andrew ultimately handles this issue. To see a spate of upbeat, peppy endorsements prior to resolution would make me think more than twice about doing business with those so easily persuaded to be cheerleaders after this tragic death.

Thank you for the kind words Kevin! Yes we have been doing business for many a years and never had any issues on either side. Im sorry Kevin that you posted a nice comment and got blasted by the Fauna supporters. I followed the attached link and never had anything fishy happen on Kevins side. Great guy, pays quick, picks up the tortoises from the Fed Ex hub everytime and is on point with communications. Hope your reptile collection is doing well for you Kevin.

I think those who responded to the various ATC threads want potential customers to be informed of what has happened in an ATC transaction. I'm thinking this description will be oft-repeated until you, Andrew, decide to take care of your customer:

Lucille I am not criticizing fauna at all, Im a supporter as well. Laterbob, I do not lie and I have dealt with the Doa in the bad guy post. I personally think you should be more respectful not to me but the other members that post good comments. These are not my friends on here. They all are past customers that wanted to share good things and they shouldnt get hell for it. Thanks for the understanding guy.

Andrew, you are sinking here fast. Again, as I stated in another of your threads, I would be careful who I recruited as character witnesses. Also your above statement seems to imply that you had nothing to do with the sudden onslaught of good guy threads. Would you care to state that for the record?

Andrew - I didn't closely follow the original thread...in fact, I'm not even sure I looked at it until it the recent group of threads started appearing. As such, I may well have overlooked something, or misunderstood the situation.
Would you mind describing how you dealt with the DOA?

Didn't even know Andrew until we did a large transaction a few months ago
I for one had a great experience . The tortoises I got were healthy and well represented

I see nothing g wrong with Andrew or any other fauna member asking their satisfied customers to help out by sharing their experiences .. Especially when something not so good is posted ...Not the first time it's been done and it won't be the last . It doesn't change the bad guy post nor does it change the minds of those that already have formed an opinion of the dealer at question .
Sometimes there are just sour deals that go wrong . It's happened to me and likely everyone else that's been in the businessfor any length of time . The truth . The whole truth and nothing but the truth rarely ever comes out. In the end I believe a person should be judged for the manner in which they handle things in the end .. Even if a few wrong turns are made I the middle .

Well put, The trouble is that ATC did not "handle things in the end". Now it appears that he has lied recently when he stated that he took care of the DOA. Is it ok to lie?

Sure, Just answer Harald's question in post 16 above. You said you took care of the DOA problem. If that is the truth then you should answer instead of ignoring the question. I was preparing to answer your PM that you sent this morning and perhaps put this to bed. You have chosen to advise me in public so all bets are off.
