    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Stop with the melodramatics! So are you saying the yellow rat was not healthy? And please show everyone here where the post is that says you're interested toa terrible snake keeper. I said I will pay for everything. If you're that unhappy, do something about it. Research shipping or find someone local to ship for you. It will be worth it to here you stop whining. As a matter of fact I will buy a mate from Daniel and produce awesome offspring in the future and guess who will be on my "don't sell to" list? It won't be Daniel.

WHEN did I say that the snake wasn't healthy? Do you even read these threads before you post? I said that my snakes are healthy and thriving, in other words, that should show I'm doing something right.
Yet, I'm told the snakes health we be better with someone other than me.
Why was it so bad to ask someone for help with getting shipping right so as to avoid any complications.
and do you think for a moment that your little stab about being on your no sell list is going to hurt my feelings at all. with the attitude you are showing, why would I want to buy from you.
So NOW I'm saying my snake is 4 times smaller? No, I've been saying that for a while, ever since I posted a comparison photo. What is it based on, other than the comparison of my eastern rat that is almost the same age and been fed once a week, gradually moved up in prey size and now 261 grams vs the yellow that has been kept on pinkies for the last year and a half and is at 29 grams (interesting how its been suggested on here to just feed her and gradually increase her prey size, why wasn't that done before, you can say its common practice to feed a snake the same prey size for the first 1.5 years of its life? I kinda doubt that.
Add to that research the calls I made to breeders asking their opinions. One of the smaller one's I found at that age was 79 grams. and it had been brumating for the last 4 months. hmm, not eating for 4 months and still a full 50 grams heavier.
lightly fed, 79/29= 2.72 times larger, conservatively fed 261/29=9 times larger, I ignored the powerfed snakes. The 4 times the size was generously understating to avoid exaggeration.

Wow! That is some striking evidence. Lol. So lets get back on topic. I will take the rat snake. Everyone walks away satisfied. But somehow I see you avoiding a perfect resolution. no more drama. Back to the Judge Judy marathons.
 
first, what is wrong with that example. rather than just be sarcastic, say what's wrong with it.
It might seem like a perfect resolution to you, but drama is what I'm trying to avoid. I will research shipping but I will only ship if YOU agree to the way its being shipped, when, through what carrier, etc etc. I can do all the research in the world, but that doesn't mean YOU are going to be happy with the result.
I'm asking for you or Chazz to walk me through it so it gets done the way YOU want it to be done.

How's this? I'm just a hobbyist. If Chaz is willing, perhaps he can send you and insulated box with instructions and the necessary equipment to keep it at adequate temperatures and a WONDERFUL level of comfort, and I'll pay the shipping cost, on both ends. Chaz pays only what you for the snake, minus shipping. WOW! Win,win situation for you both! You're gonna miss that yellow rat snake. Who ever ends up with it, put me on your do sell list for some Sunshine yellow rat babies when they start producing.
 
That sounds great Chris, I just want to make sure I do everything the way you guys want it done so there are no surprises or disappointments.

Seth, you come on here posting about this yellow Rat you just HAD to have based on a photo. You got her and yes, she is smaller than I would also have expected for a 2012, but she looks healthy and is still lovely. Post after post are made answering your questions and advising you how to care/acclimate/feed this girl (and frankly at this point, it's obvious you are oblivious, inexperienced and simply do not care)

Now after two weeks in your care you want to flip her because she's too small, not "beautiful", has an "unattractive white nose" and your fingers and hands are too large to handle her safely? Seriously? Got any more excuses?

I gave you the benefit of the doubt ...even sent you a PM re: preemptive and argumentative posts. I'm willing to admit I was wong.

You're obviously more concerned about getting rid of the snake YOU BOUGHT than you are to keep and properly care for this lovely snake you just HAD to have. You obviously don't have the experience you claim to have and you have no clue what you actually have, small as she may be.
How many other snakes do you actually have?

She is definitely better off elsewhere.

After the way this guy has pissed and moaned and carried on about a whole lot of nothing, getting involved with him in any type of a transaction, especially if he has to ship a snake, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

And regardless of whether you are right or not, IF I really complain about "nothing", how does that effect what I would be like about shipping something.

I've been following this thread since the beginning, could you show me where Poomwah has pissed and moaned? I just see him being concerned and skeptical about a snake's size/age and bringing it to a forum for confirmation.
 
Its obvious he completely is going against sound advice for the animal. Someone should take the snake before he ends up stressing it to death!

Moving it from 20g to smaller tank, then back to a 55g tank. Come on dude get real and get a clue!
 
well Korbin, it's a moot point because I'm sure they were just trying to make me look bad and aren't serious about buying it, so there's nothing to disclose. Not to mention I think I mentioned that suspicion somewhere in here, but these guys don't want to even acknowledge that as a possibility.
And Rich, take your own advice on the get a clue part, you surely need one. I ddint' go against sound advice, I went against YOUR advice.
Maybe I should take your advice and stop feeding it. Brilliant :]
 
poomwah, I think I may be interested in buying her. Do you mind if I spend two or three weeks asking you questions and post a BOI thread on you before I make a final descision? I must also warn you that if I forget to ask a question or think of a new question after already questioning you for two weeks that I reserve the right to further delay the purchase. Please don't sell her to anybody or take her to any of your regular shows in the meantime as I really like her and think I might just possibly maybe want to buy her, maybe.

Thank you Aaron, you have shown yet another example of how messed up some of you people are. BUT, this is still a valuable thread, for people who are open minded, and willing to weed through the posts by people who are either judgemental, argumentative for its own sake, blind followers akin to the comic book guy on Mallrats (you tell him Steve Dave) or even just those who have trouble following pop up books. Weed through them and there are actually a lot of intelligent posts, and it will still prove valuable to someone doing research and question what some think they shouldn't.
