    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

It's a good example of what pastels do. They brown out over time. That doesn't make it a bad pastel. It doesn't mean that it was a poor choice of breeding. A bright normal x pastel pairing can still throw babies that will absolutely brown out.

I have yet to see a pastel that hasn't done it. Show me a larger 5yr old or older pastel, without any other morph genes in it, that hasn't browned out roughly to the same extent as the one shown above. I'm not saying that there aren't a few that are a little better, but I've seen no evidence that they don't all brown out with age and size.

Is there anyone around that's trying to "selectively breed" their pastels so they don't brown out? If so, are they successful in completely eliminating the brown-out?

Pastel female at 800 gr, unfortunately not in my rack.

I have a female that held on to her bright yellow and nice blushing for over 2 years. Then she laid eggs. Maybe the eggs caused it, don't know, but now she's as brown as all that I've seen. Still throws awesome combos, though.
