In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all. Getting ready to build a snake rack for our expanding BP collection, and just wanted to know if it is really worth it to spend the extra money and get the CB-70 tubs or if it's ok to use the 41 qt sterilite tubs? (There isn't a huge price difference - about $2.50/tub - but when you add in shipping costs it goes up). Thanks! - Christie

Personally I like the Iris CB-70 better because they are a little bit wider than the Sterlite bins, which allows more space to maneuver for the larger BP's I house in them. Just IMHO.

Bye the Vision v-70, it's the same size as a cb-70 but the plastic is thicker and they don't have the little feet on the bottom of the tub.

For convenience, the 41qt is the way to go...you can pick them up at Walmart and Target (+ numerous other places). Watch for sales, and you can make out. The 41 qt is also a little taller than the 70series tubs. The downside - the 41 qt doesn't have a flat/smooth bottom...there is about an inch wide depression running around the perimeter. It is smooth, and rounded, so there aren't any corners to try to clean; but it still takes just a little more time/attention when cleaning.

That said, the V70 is better than the CB70....but, there's always the ARS tub, with the built in delicup holder (disposable waterbowl).

Ultimately, it comes down to a matter of taste (I went with convenience, and use 41qts).

I agree that 41 qts are much easier to come by and less expensive but CB-70s are so much easier to clean, seems that for me it's a debate of iris vs sterilite and to me iris wins hands down, their bins are much more reptile friendly with the smooth bottoms, they make cleaning a million times easier.

I am also in the process of building some racks and was debating which tub to go with. I'll probably go with the 41qt for convenience but for reference sake, where can you get the cb-70 tubs? I think office depot has them but does anyone else carry this tub?

Question...

With the Sterilite 41QT tub, do they heat up correctly even though it doesn't have a flat bottom? Seems like only the outer border touches the heat tape, is that sufficient?

I use the 41 sterilite tubs and haven't noticed any uneven heating. The hot spot heats up just fine.
