    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can anyone help find some matieral?

I am looking for PVCX or PVC sheets to construct my own rack. I want to try and use plastic this time instead of wood... But I have a slight problem, I can't find the darn stuff anywhere! I have looked at lowes and Home Depot, but no one has even heard of it there. I went to a lumber yard (figured why not) and no luck.

Does anyone know where to get PVC sheets? I have also been told that it is a PVC foam board, but I am not too sure about that. I have no idea where else to look except hardware stores and all of them have never heard of PVC sheets. Any help will be appriciated! Thanks

Thanks! I just took a look and I cant get a full sheet shipped, and half a sheet is 80 alone plus 10 dollars oversized fee... and shipping.

Hmm Ill have to tinker with the site and see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestion!

If you think your going to find it cheap, you're mistaken (unless you're prepared to buy in significant quantity)...but that price seems high. Then again, I haven't priced it in a few years.

To be honest, I think full sheets were about $90 (at the least expensive place) when I was looking into it; but that was at least 6-7 yrs ago...possibly more. The sort of local places from which I could have picked up my order were about $30-35 more per piece.
I don't remember the name of the place, offhand. I'll try to remember to look for it.

Yea I have seen other treads that said average price is about 80-100 per 4x8 sheet. But I haven't seen the material anywhere to compare prices and no one I have talked too has even heard of the stuff, slightly frustrating. But either way, thanks for your help, greatly appreciated

I looked into this as well once upon a time. I determined the only way it would be cheaper to make my own cages was out of melamine coated plywood. In the link Lucille provided, a 4x8 sheet of PVC at 1/4 inch thickness is $230.20 and that wouldn't be terribly sturdy.

I ended up just buying mine from Mark at BoaMaster and will continue to do so. I'm sure other vendors have some at similar prices ALL of which are cheaper than making them yourself.

Yea that's the route it looks like if I want plastic racks, I just want to upgrade from wood and keep it light, but that's a harder DIY project than it should be. And at 230 a sheet, might as well get it put together with heat an tubs for the same price

Here's a close up.
