In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

And there tom goes with the He said She said life threatening nonsense again because he cant prove a single thing about his story besides he saw a sick lizard. Pics or it didnt happen time to MAN UP TOM.

I'm a real bad guy! I guess Sharon and his cronies did a lot of homework on me AFTER HE THREATENED MY LIFE! I'm not coming to beat you down or anything like that. I felt bad for your pets, and I feel very confident that you have fixed the situation. That's it, it took you three weeks to man up. Fwiw.

In the future though Shannon, please be careful who you flip out on... And threaten lives. You may just cross an equal! They ARE out there. I came across one one time, and I never felt so scared in my life! :)

So much heresay and he said she said... can we get back to posting actual facts? How about proof?

And for what it's worth, Shannon came off as a very nice guy. Compared to how you treated me when I asked a question, I don't see why anyone would believe he had threatened your life when you're the one posting that you wanted to put your fist through a tank, or something to that effect.

Sabrina... It's been 3 weeks! Of course it's cleaned up! And if you think that Chuckie looks good, I guess you haven't seen one in the wild! ;)

Look at the belly on that thing. See how deflated that is. Here's what it should look like. Thanks for posting that one!

Let me reiterate, since you guys are also repeating yourselves, I've been to the store before. It has always been clean.

The one photo you show does not mean the whole store looks that way. You seem to be the kind of person who loves to really put one away... but you didn't get more than a single photo. This leads me to believe there wasn't anything else to take photos of.

Since everyone else is posting pics of chucks ill post one too. Looks pretty healthy just like the one in the store.

I have been viewing as a guest here on Fauna for years. Seen a lot of good stuff, seen a lot of crazy stuff. This thread is what finally pushed me over the edge to sign up.
I do not know any of the people at Arizona Exotic Pets but have stopped in once about a year ago on our way through the area, so when this thread popped up I was interested in finding out what was going on there.
I was definitely saddened at the condition of the Collared lizard, but also felt Tom quickly escalated into trying to greatly exaggerate the description of the lizard's living conditions. I saw a sadly skinny lizard next to a dry bowl, but nowhere did I see excessive poop, certainly the lizard is not sitting in its own excrement. Looks like a desert set-up to me with sand and rocks.
It is sad, and the lizard should’ve had water.

But to go with that one picture (where the lizard’s condition was later explained by an employee at the store, Danielle) to all the empty accusations that we have yet to see any evidence of, was making me exceedingly frustrated, as the accusations did not match at all what I myself witnessed in the store.

So while we were still back at page 3-4 of this thread, I had a sister-in-law actually traveling through the area, so I asked her to stop in and take some pictures of the conditions, so I could either support Tom’s claims and hope to affect some change for the poor creatures living there, or maybe make people see another side of the story.
Little did I know at the time that anyone making any claims in support of anything to do with the store would be subject to belittling and ridiculing.

Had my sister-in-law taken the pictures with a phone I could’ve had them two weeks ago, but as it is, they were taken with a camera, so I had to wait until today when she returned from her vacation, and at this point I don’t think anything will end this ridiculous hate-fest we have going on here.

She also misunderstood me a bit, I wanted her to take pictures of the over-all condition of the store, but she thought taking pictures of the tanks and animals was all I was after.

For what it’s worth, here they are. I would like to point out that these were taken before any police visits sent by Tom, or even any invites by employees/owner to come visit. The pictures are taken on June 2nd.

oh, hmm, here Tom.

you were young and assaulted someone because they assaulted your friend letter of the law says that is still a crime and as far as that goes, paying out someone is just as bad as admitting guilt. 100k for that one, must have sucked.

the video is comical? really man what world do you point a fire arm at someone in a "comical" method. that is scary man you pointed your gun at your gf.. A GUN TOM... do you not have any idea how overall irresponsible that is, loaded or not? your not marine ,i'd say poor judgement ability is probably why if an any military saw this they'd be concerened.

an animal in renal failure will not drink, will not eat. the animal was terminal from the point it was brought in. that was addressed about a week ago , collards (from the people i spoke to about keeping collards) don't drink standing water. collards get their moisture from humid hides in the desert like burrows. also their food, highly predatory and take in alot of "liquids" from their prey items. had you placed food in it's cage it also would have become food for the food.

i don't keep water in with my uromastyx and i've been keeping them this way for about 4 years now. they get plenty from their greens. in fact water tends to cause rot issues with their scales.

again the store is slightly cleaner than it was before. the conditions were never as you described.

but Tom, yes outside of Shannon and not at his request. i did A LOT of research into who you are. Members of the AHA were quoted as saying "unpleasant to deal with" and called what you are doing your right now as "very typical MO, blows up at people" i do have more than what i'm posting.

your facebook also suggested you are a troll (i was going to avoid posting this originally) keep in mind all this was public, I did block tom didn't feel like being trolled by a "troll master" ... it genuinely seems like you enjoy the attention fauna brings you.

I guess you better go tell John over at AZRC that his calico chuck is dilapidated as well and in need of serious medical treatment. a little something to remember chuckwallas have the ability to inflate to appear larger to hopefully scare off predators and wedge themselves in rocks they can look deflated sometimes. i assure the collard isn't dilapidated he has a gorgeous fat reserve in his tail.

Ms0Ngi1.jpg

also Tom, my volunteer work for the rescue involves driving up to payson on the weekends typically when an animal in need of veterinary care is required. i think schedule an appointment with Dr. Todd Driggers, typically again at my cost. this is fairly recent volunteering of mine.

I also volunteer with Adobe mountain animal rescue (again didn't really need my business or outside work business aired to you) but you can call Sandy Cate or Mike Demlong and ask what I do there for them. and buddy you better believe me if Shannon EVER let the store get to the state it was in i'd of reported him myself and don't for a second think i'm lying.

I happened to be out of town when the collard came in and was not able to get to it any earlier for euthanasia. yes the store did want to attempt to save it. typically you'd start by soaking, and offering a product called carnivore care , which was offered. it was quickly regurged. you happened to come in shortly after this.

you really can't prove the water was empty after you left either, the Cashier Emily very well could have filled if while walking around the store after your visit.

so which is it , saturday or tuesday when you come. Saturday i was in rocky point on family vacation, Tuesday i was in Bullhead city.

and as for shannon threatening you Tom, you made your report to the police, you got all those guns bros.. what are you afraid of, an unarmed store owner?

the state that you claim it was in.. i'd report him myself... also i apologize for not resizing the image. i have requested a mod remove it or somehow allow me to correct the image size.

Who cares about threats everyone is on a computer nobodys really going to meet up and fight but if they do i know a few gyms you can meet up and settle it in a controlled environment do a little sparring

Well, I should apologize to anyone who had to see the poor collard lizard. We should have taken it out of the store to avoid this. With that said, this is a small town and there is nothing "high traffic" about where he was. His location played no role in is health.

Although everyone is claiming I was defending the lack of water, I was not. I did say it should have had water in it. Although, it would not have helped the health of this animal either. Yes I was defensive, that happens when people attack me and my people with lies and over exaggerations. Employees make mistakes from time to time and we will do our best to always improve. I still retain that my employees and myself care and provide quality care to our animals.

We will never please everyone. For example, I had a couple euros on display and they also had water dishes full of water. I had a customer through a big fit about it. He claimed to be an expert regarding them. He stated the added humidity would cause scale rot. He also complained to the police.

So, looks like the trolling has come to an end. In the future, don't get sucked in by a troll. I realize the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but come on people, don't feed the trolls.

There are multiple parties name calling, and some of the people attacking this pet store are even going as far as attacking people's intelligence. If you're going to call out one person for name calling, call the rest out, too.

I'm home now so I will start getting the rest of the photos uploaded.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post/report. I want to make it clear that this is my first post so please bear with me. on the 14th of June I visited the Arizona Exotics reptile store.
In addition I spent a bit of time at this location taking pictures and conversing with the staff. At the moment I entered the store I was greeted by a polite and happy looking staff member and was immediately asking if there was something they could help me find and or answer questions. My first impression of the store was overall good to start with, I was greeted and asked if I needed help. These are simple and basic requirements of ANY business that I felt that they had met in the first encounter with me. I politely declined the need for help at the moment to take a stroll around the store. I started on one far side of the store and made sure to photograph each aisle. Starting with a dog food aisle and eventually zigzag each additional aisle in the store.

Upon reaching the last wall ( I have dubbed the "Wall of reptiles") I was then greeted by a third different employee with a friendly smile and defendant focus to what I may or may not require from him/her. after the greeting I attempted light small talk about various reptiles that both this store and myself keep has both a hobby and profession. I then chose to ask questions that I already knew the answers too as well as anyone that also keeps/sells/maintains could possibly answer. They took the time to explain to me in detail what I had already known, and the information was spot on. I then proceeded to ask other various questions about other reptiles I was uninformed about. Again with consistent positive attitude and heart they answered my questions to the best of their knowledge.

Upon viewing and photographing (more than one shot) of tanks and enclosures as well as the entire wall. I noticed that EACH enclosure I looked into that currently held a reptile looked happy healthy and responsive to my movements. I also noted that each tank/ enclosure with a guest inside was also taken care of food and water wise. in addition there where no excessive amounts of waste or excessive amounts of food given. Each enclosure looked felt and smelled clean, tidy, and homey to its respective occupant. Again each enclosure looked well enough for its respective species to live and grow during the short time it would be in the store until it sold.

Here are some photos I took of the store itself, I can only upload four photos at a time. I will do my best to upload them all.

Overall my first experience with the store was very positive, and I will be coming back.

Three weeks later... Bunch of drama, threats. My childhood revisited... I love it! Thank you for finally getting stuff done! Who do I owe it to? Payson PD, AZGF, or you Shannon? Either way! THANK YOU! I just hope we don't see the same mess in a couple months. :)

I forgot to bring this up earlier since this thread has moved so quickly...
I got a message from a friend who has a friend, that is an acquaintance of theirs... Said that they had gotten word and cleaned up the shop. I'm waiting on pics for proof.

and

It's illegal to sell natives here in Az. Possession can be had with a hunting license, I believe.

I was told by a mutual acquaintance that the Collard perished... Like I said earlier, I was shocked that it moved when I tapped on the cage.

Sad deal, Collards are so rewarding to keep and relate with.

Who is this friend?
